Breeding Perfect Pokemon in Pokemon X&Y

You wrote in the same post that you use power belt AND power band. If you actually used power band that would explain the result.
Well, assuming that you have done everything correct, this is kinda huge news. This means that the Destiny Knot removes the effect of power items when used simultaneously, meaning that the power items are practically useless in breeding. We did have a short discussion about this earlier in the thread, but then everyone were sure that they can be used together...
Can I maybe trade you two pokemon (the slugma with the three IV's as stated and a gastly with the power item and defense IV) and see if you can replicate my results? That way you can see if I am messing up or if this is an actual thing? Because I have hatched 4 eggs now and none of them had the IV for defense.

Considering I've had nothing but success breeding with the Power Items + Destiny Knot chaining down the Power Item's IV and that I haven't heard of similar reports on something this big from IRC / other websites, I'm inclined to believe you're making a mistake somewhere along the way before anything about the Destiny Knot overriding the Power Items. Double check that you're actually using the correct Power item for the stat you're chaining down; that's the most apparent cause of error I can see right now.
K after you finish the hatch, can you trade back? that is the best slugma I have :(
Thanks for the help on the breeding! I got a perfect timid gastly (31/31/31/31/31/31)! I lucked out and it was my second egg after breeding a 31/31/x/x/x/31 timid gastly and a 31/x/31/31/31/31 slugma :D
Now all I gotta do is read up on EV training and make sure I can do that correctly!

right, I managed to breed my Gible with outrage; 31/31/31/x/31/31. However, I feel this was complete luck as I have had 3 more boxes full of gibles and nothing the same. Trouble is, I cant remember the rents I used as I was pretty sure I had better come along so I swip-swapped around a lot after that.
I have two possible rents along the lines of X/31/31/31/31/31 and 31/31/31/31/31/X. My question is, am I more likely to breed a 6x with these parents rather than another 31/31/31/X/31/31? Or would you recommend going back to x4 IV's Parents with definately NO perfect SpA IV?
I am confused as I would have thought the 5 IV's were better but Somethings going wrong as I get pokemon with only 2 or 3 perfect IV's; and yes, my parents are definately holding the destiny knot/everstone.
This bastard also takes long to hatch as well, I thought Larvesta was bad :(
Also, I didn't breed in his DW ability; is it going to be useless trying to trade with him without Rough Skin? I suppose it wont be too much trouble breeding it in now if the above parents generate my 31/31/31/X/31/31!

A little off of the IV questions, but how exactly does the Egg move breeding work? I'm trying to get a Marill with Belly Drum and Aqua jet. I'm currently breeding a female Poliwhirl with Belly Drum with a male Poliwag without Belly Drum. No egg is coming out with Belly Drum. Any ideas?
I believe Belly Drum isn't an egg move for Poliwag. Only certain moves are egg moves for each Pokemon.
According to my maths if you breed a 6/6 and a 2/6 together with one holding destiny knot and neither holding a power item the chances of passing down iv's is below
1 = 1/48
2 = 1/6
3 = 3/8
4 = 1/3
5 = 5/48
When I include the chance of the random IV being perfect I end up with the following percentages
1 = 2.01%
2 = 16.19%
3 = 36.84%
4 = 33.45%
5 = 11.12%
6 = 0.32%
This is completely and sadly untrue. 5 random IVs are passed down with the Destiny Knot.

Created an account here just to say, thanks so much for the great guide - I've found it very useful.
A small but simple tip that I don't see included; If you head to the very center of Lumiose City, you can do constant laps around the tower in one continuous loop. Quite easy to set up your DS with a weight on one button and work off those hatching steps without needing to even be at the console.
