I've tested this team a bunch of times in Showdown! but I feel like it's missing something vital.....just can't put my finger on it. I hope you guys can give me some rad advice!
Greninja @ Focus Sash
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Surf
- Dark Pulse
- Taunt
I try to lead with Greninja. Taunt is always cool to take care of the stuff that I usually see on the first turn, and I can usually set up at least one layer of Spikes before I get KO'd. I chose Surf over Hydro Pump for accuracy purposes, and Dark Pulse is a just-in-case sort of thing.
Alakazam @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Ball
I chose to use a Specs Alakazam over a Sash one because I already have Life Orb on Tyrantrum and a sash on Greninja. It kind of stinks getting locked into a move with this guy though and I'm pretty sure he will be the first to leave the team once I edit it. Sub obviously wasn't a choice with specs so I threw HP Fire on him. I'm not going to lie, his moustache was a big reason I chose him in the first place =P.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- U-turn
I knew I wanted a Mega, and I've always liked Scizor. I still think his natural state might be better, but I figured as long as I'm experimenting I'd try a bulky Sword Dancer. Roost has proven to be less handy than I initially hoped, but I think that it's still a good idea for the future.
Tyrantrum @ Life Orb
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Rock Polish
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
This guy is my favorite gen 6'er. I just like t-rex's. Don't question it.
I threw Crunch/Strong Jaw there because I can't get Rock Head yet apparently. Eventually I would like to spam Head Smash repeatedly until I faint. EQ because of power, Dragon Claw because of STAB and Rock Polish because he is scarier if he's faster.
Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Hammer Arm
- Bulk Up
- Substitute
This is the reason I made the team. I love Chesnaught. It looks like there are a lot of different sets people are using on him, but this is by far my favorite that I've tested thus far. Sub, then Bulk Up, then go nuts with Seed Bomb and Hammer Arm. His speed is sort of bad anyway so I figured Hammer Arm would be an awesome choice.
Nidoking (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast
This guy is here because he is one of my favorite Pokes already. I liked using this set in Gen V so I figured I would see how it fared in this tier. So far it seems to take a lot of people by surprise when they see him. He's been proving to be a handy switch-in for those pesky Ferrothorns.
So there you have it, my first post on this site and my first RMT since Gen IV! I'm just getting back into competitive play and sort of have future-shock between all the changes that have taken place, so I would very much appreciate any and all advice you wonderful people can throw my way!
Happy playing!
