It depends on the computer you're using. if you're using a desktop that can't use a wireless connection, then I assume that would work. If you have a laptop, it should work as long as you have a wireless card. Unfortunately, I can't confirm that a USB Wireless Adapter would work considering that I don't use one. i have a laptop.
 
I have like 2 batches of eggs I'd like to check, and all I need is a trade partner. I'd also like to check my TSV on my new X version.

I don't know exactly how it works, but I've tried without WinPCap and it didn't work. And also, downloading WinPCap seemed to solve the problem for a lot of people.

Yea, i am using a laptop too. XP from 2006. I just thought that if i buy a usb adapter then since its updated tech then will make instacheck work.

I tried downloading winPCap but i cant install it. i get a error saying it's not compatible or something with WinSystem 32

Well it might. Get WinPCap just in case. Again, I can't guarantee that it would work for sure; all I can do is give you my support on the situation, because I don't have a USB adapter.
 
Hi anybody know how I can fix this? it was working fine yesterday until I accidentally connected my pc via WI-FI connection

Here's my setup

Modem -> Router -> PC (ethernet connection) -> Wifi dongle (for hotspot)

I accidentally connected to the internet using my wifi dongle now it's giving me this error tried restarting my computer and uninstalling and installing the driver for the dongle still didn't work

Check your Instacheck folder, if there's an exception.txt try to delete it.

Well you also have it trying to identify, try allowing it through your firewall or going through control panel, disabling instachecks connection (I assume 4) and use diagnose on your main connection to have it repair it.

EDIT: You can also try to set a "home network".
 
Can someone help me set up Instacheck? I've done everything that I could think of to get it running and it starts the hotspot and broadcasts as an access point. However, while my 3DS can detect it, it fails the connection test even though I've entered the correct password. The main internet connection has sharing enabled with the virtual router adapter.
For the record, I've connected my android phone to the hotspot, and it connects but with "limited connectivity".
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: My firewall is disabled, and the connection set up is 3DS > Wireless Connection 2 (HotSpot) > Wireless Connection 1 (Shared) > Router > Internet
 
Does anyone know if there is a list of the Databases I tried searching Google and all of the ones I know (Pokecommunity, Reddit, and GameFAQs) is there more I'm not aware of?
