"Worst Kalos Pokemon?" Thread

Slurpuff. Dessert has never bothered me so much.
Also, Amaura. I pretty sure that not many (if any) people agree with me on this, but it's my least favorite Pokemon. Why? It looks like something from My little Pony, even more than Keldeo.

Edit: I didn't realise so many people would agree with me :D

ummm try not to quadruple post - double posting is frowned upon and you can reply to multiple people in one post

And yeah Klefki's a pain to deal with sometimes (priority status) but with some luck it's not too hard to take down (also I'm an ubers play so it's not much of a problem in general).
Yea, i'm not too familiar with chatting on forums or knowing general forum rules (for any forum). Just trying to get myself around, goodnight!

I agree with you on Amaura. My first impression of Amaura and Aurorus was that they looked like Fakemon. Not good fakemon, mind you, but the bland, lazy, weirdly-proportioned kind. Amaura's face, while cute, seems somehow too round and too massive-eyed.
Admittedly, Amaura and Aurorus have grown on me a little since their reveal. I still won't use Aurorus because of its dreadful defensive typing, though.

Im going to agree with you on that one, and on top of that, Amaura and Aurorus are rock/ice type meaning there x4 weak to steel.
That Ability of there though called "referigerate" is rather interesting as it turns normal type moves into ice type moves. I just don't know if it can make some good out of it. and tyrunt and tyrantrum have GREAT Attacking stats and a uniqe typing(Damn You Fairy Types), thats why I went with the jaw fossil AND On top of that they learn a whole bunch of biting moves to make good use of there "Strong Jaw" Ability. and there Hidden Ability "Rock Head" When It Comes Out They Can Make Great Use Of Head smash. Am i Getting Off Topic?

Edit:Amaura and aurorus are also 4x weak to fighting, god damn!

I'm having trouble with multiple quotes on my phone so I'm just going to respond randomly lol.

Klefki is not the best fairy and it's not even the best steel/fairy. It is also based on something both arbitrary and mundane. Would you think the pencil sharpener pokemon was cool? How about the traffic light pokemon? Ooh lookout, here comes the cordless phone pokemon!

The worst thing is that keys can actually be pretty cool looking things, but they made the keys look like Klefki stole them from some yuppie who sits in a cubicle all day and drives a '96 dodge minivan.

Aromatisse has a sort of black-plaguish creepiness about it that lends it a bit of interest, but you know that's not what the design was striving toward. Also the stats are atrocious. Maybe I'm being a bit hard on this thing because I can't deny that it interests me. It's just so hard to suspend disbelief forever; as much as I want it to be something cool, it's always gonna be a friggin cancan dancer.

Aurorus' flowing sails look really cool IMO, but its stats and typing are so beyond terrible that its not even worth trying.

I thought I was the only one who thought Amaura looked like something from MLP; it really bothers me as well.

Klefki is likely based on the concept of Tsukumogami, which are basically random objects that gain sentience after a long period of time (according to Japanese folklore.) Because most people outside of Japan aren't familiar with the concept (reasonably so,) it comes across as arbitrary and random when something is based on them. I had a similar reaction to Rotom before I got back into Pokemon and someone told me there was a Pokemon based on a lawnmower. Now? Rotom's among my favorites.

Klefki's keys are just keys he picks up when he's doing his thing, so honestly there might be a driver looking for the keys to his minivan in Kalos. More to the point though, I think that we'll see more variety with what Klefki picks up in different forms of media. For example:

M17_Pikachu_the_Movie_poster.png

While I'm sure the Pikachu short won't be anything special, the Klefki has legendary Pokemon keychains. That's pretty neat.

I find it weird the thing has a Darkrai keychain rather than Celebi or Shaymin one. It looks... very out of place compared to the other Mewclones there.

As for the myths associated with Tsukumogami, I thought that was purely associated with just Shinto beliefs unless I am incorrect and that it applies to Japanese culture as a whole.

Honestly, I think Amaura does win in cutest design department even though it's a bit too underwhelming in usage. Moesaurus may not win a fight for me, but it won my heart... and half of my Pokepuffs stash along with it. Yes, my nickname for the species is "moesaurus". *has no regrets*

I still picked the Tyrunt in the end. Moesaurus is adorable... just not useful to me aside from filling my Pokedex.

It depends on what you're using it for. If you're expecting it to be any sort of offensive threat, you're mistaken. With Prankster and a great movepool to make use of it, it can cripple teams with status or be fantastic support.

I didn't like the concept at first, either, but it has grown on me. I mean, it will be pretty ingenious from a marketing standpoint if they start making actual keyrings based on Kelfki.

In terms of design, Diggersby and Binacle/Barbaracle would be my least favorites. Diggersby gives me a creepy pedobear sort of vibe. Binacle and Barbaracle are just ugly, and what a friend of mine described as "Angry Bird Blackface French Fry Cartons." When I first saw Binacle, I thought that it was a butt sticking upside-down out of the ground, with the "arms" being legs and the base being pants.

Dayum, looks like we got a hater, let me bring up what is wrong with this post

1. "fuck you all its cute as fuck" Imagine it in real life, a horse coverd in ice, big round eye's, has a "thing" coming out of its neck, and it has stone's peeking out of it, creepy as all fuck.

2. its cry is just a weird yelling sound, how is that the best cry ever?

3. Its weak 4x weak to fighting and steel, and 2x weak to steel
reason i bring this up? jirachi scence grace iron head flinch the hell out of this ice dragon thing.

Fighting is just a common attacking type.

And EQ Is a common attacking move.
There was nothing wrong with that post at all, they stated opinion on a subjective topic. I really don't think the "fuck you," is meant to be taken seriously at all. I know it's the Internet and you can't hear tones of voice or anything but really.

Also I think a meta game leader probably knows amaura/aurorus competitive merits. It also wasn't brought up in that post.

They just defended a Pokemon they like on subjective merits. You don't need to agree. It's not a clear cut thing like arguing its competitive value would be.

I don't see how kokoloko is a hater at all.

EDIT: I'm not trying to say you shouldn't voice your opinion on the matter, but my God were you aggressive about it.

I was not trying to be to aggressive about it, and if i was i'm sorry. but he was being aggressive about defending Amaura and Aurorus to.

Just to be clear with you

Im actually staring to feel bad about that post and considering deleting it

Don't feel too bad about it, it's not my intention to make you feel bad at all. I don't think anyone meant to come off aggressively on any side, so it's all good. Let's just move on with no hard feelings, yeah?

Getting a bit back on topic though, I wanna ask why Diggersby being a creepy design makes it bad. I think the arm ears are really cool, and it's creepy unnatural look puts it at odds with it's super-safe, basically-just-a-normal-rabbit pre-evo.

It kind of reminds me of Babos or Osoe from Pokemon Quartz, in a way, except much better design-wise.

i would just like to respond to those of you who are bringing up amaura in this thread.

fuck you all. it 1. is cute as fuck and 2. has the /best/ cry of all pkmn ever.

that is all.

This is the truth.

All Amaura/Aurorus needs is a Dragon/Ice typing and it will wreck.

Also: just b/c a pokemon isn't strong doesn't mean you should hate on it.

Examples: Pikachu, Dunsparce, Sudowoodo, and of course, Magikarp.
amaura.png

Pikachu is strong with a certain item. Dunsparce is shit. Sudowoodo is a clever idea and funny in a hoarde of Trevenant. Magikarp evolves into something amazing.
None of this can be said about that worthless fossil

You said it yourself. Amaura isn't shit.

Also: Dunsparce isn't shit in the first place.

One time in showdown I 1-0'd an team with Tyranitar, Metagross, and other OU monsters. Guess what pokes I used?

Dunsparce, Deerling, Feebas, Luvdisc, Sudowoodo, and Stunfisk. I'm not even lying.
