Help! First VGC team.

This is my first RMT for VGC, and I'd like any advice I can get. This team consist of 2 cores.

Manetric @ Mega stone

Timid, Intimidate/Lightning rod

252 spe, 252 sp.atk, 4 hp

Thunderbolt, Overheat, Discharge, Protect.

Manetric has done me wonders. 30% chance to paralyze, and being able to outspeed, and OHKO most common threats is just amazing. Plus the intimidate gives me an upper hand in most cases.

Mamoswine @ Choice scarf

Adamant, Thick fat

252 atk, 252 spe, 4 hp

EQ, Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Rock slide

I needed a ground type to go alongside my Manetric, so it's not affected by the discharge. Plus, Garchomp walls my Manetric hard, so Mamo is there to take care of him, along with other threats. I feel they make a great core.

Garchomp @ Choice band

Jolly, Rough skin

252 spe, 252 atk, 4 hp

EQ, Rock Slide, Outrage, Dragon claw

I chose the choice band variant simply because Rotom-W was a pain for me. Plus, not many expect to take such a hard hit from Chomp, so it's a nice surprise.

Venasaur @ Black sludge

Timid, Chlorophyll

252 spe, 252 sp.atk, 4 hp

Sludge bomb, Grass pledge, Sleep powder, Protect

I feel he could use a better ev spread..
He's the first mon for my 2nd core. I really like grass pledge+fire pledge. Yeah, the extra damage from the sea of fire is nice, but my 2nd core is for when I spot a trick room team. Fire+Grass pledge OHKO's pokemon, even if they resist it.

Charizard Y @ Mega stone

Timid, Solar power/drought

252 spe, 252 sp.atk, 4 hp

Fire pledge, Air slash, Solar beam, protect

No need to explain anything here. Just him + Venusaur make a great 2nd core.

For my last mon, I'd like help deciding. It's between a specially defensive, support Gyrados, or a standard Rotom-W.

Thank you in advance :)

I'd recommend changing Grass/Fire Pledge because there are much better moves for both Venusaur (Giga Drain) and Charizard (Heat Wave) and if one of them faints, you're left with an 80 base power move with no added effect. Also, I'd use Assault Vest Rotom-W for the final slot.

Rotom-W @ Assault Vest
Modest Nature
-Thunderbolt\Discharge
-Hidden Power Ice
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Edit:
I wouldn't run both Outrage and Dragon Claw on Garchomp. Try Iron Head; it hits fairies for super-effective damage.
Also, change either Thunderbolt or Discharge to Hidden Power Ice.

However, isn't getting the right hidden power super difficult?
hey
if you are breeding ingame, then getting hidden powers would probably be a little difficult. however, on simulators, hidden powers are simply one button click

and as per request, a better venusaur
Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 52 HP / 252 SAtk / 204 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Protect

life orb venusaur is a monster in conjunction with char-y. the speed ev's allow you to outspeed +1 timid/jolly base 100 pokemon (think charizard-x after a dragon dance or something) in the sun. then the rest is put into special attack and bulk.

finally on charizard, i would recommend testing out focus blast or hp ground in lieu of air slash. this allows you to nail heatrans. however, if you would simply prefer to hit stuff like fighting types when you are out of sun, then stick with air slash. just personal preference.

:]

Hello.
Your descriptions are too short to fit the RMT rules requirements.
I encourage you to PM me an updated version of this team with beefed up descriptions, and since you're new, to join the Mentor Program. I'll be unlocking this thread after that.

Have a nice day.
