XY OU Analysis Reservation Index - READ CAREFULLY (MAKING A NEW THREAD)

Is Weezing possibly gonna get an analysis now? It got Toxic Spikes, which is pretty awesome, and it handles physical Mega Lucario pretty well, in addition to completely walling special Landorus and providing a decent Fighting-type check overall (I'm looking at you Terrakion!). It handles Mega Aerodactyl, Excadrill, even CB Azumarill, non-Mega Gyarados, normal and Mega Tyranitar, Bisharp (it only takes ~58% from +2 Iron Head which is ridiculous and then it burns it), Trevenant, Scizor, and physical Aegislash well, and isn't 2HKOed by anything from even CB Talonflame. Its STAB Sludge Bomb lets it get around Sylveon/Azumarill/Togekiss, which is pretty nifty. This is just a list I threw together. If you guys are okay with, I'm reserving it.

Although I don't have much of an opinion on Weezing, just a heads up that Weezing does not wall Landorus-I very reliably because most Landorus these days carry Psychic as a coverage move due to the sheer presence of Mega Venusaur and Gengar. Also, Excadrill still completely fucks Weezing thanks to its Mold Breaker ability, and although it counters the Sand Rush variants, Mold Breaker is so much more common that I wouldn't really consider it a reliable check. And I'm not so sure if Toxic Spikes is enough to warrant it a set TBH. The common Mega Venusaur soaks up T-Spikes, Excadrill is immune to them and spins them away, and I'm pretty sure every user of Defog that is used in OU is immune to them as well. I'm not saying that T-Spikes aren't viable anymore, I'm just saying that they weren't always the best entry hazard, and now they're even harder to abuse because of how easy it is to remove them. Weezing itself does have its uses defensively though, but I haven't used in OU before, so I don't know how amazing it is.

I was addressing Sand Rush Excadrill, yeah, sorry. It *can* at least take Landorus-I's STAB Earth Power and Focus Blast, as well as HP Ice (which is run ~40% of the time). You do have to scout for Psychic, which is very common, you're right. Toxic Spikes can still be a pain just because getting poisoned is really annoying, and Weezing is a decent check to enough stuff. tbh I would consider it without Toxic Spikes.

Fuzznip, can I reserve Breloom? I'm about done with Sableye except for some small things that some people may bring up...

Maybe Mr. Mime deserves an analysis? It's still a pretty important BP mon, though like last gen not totally mandatory. It even received a buff with Fairy typing this gen.

I think Umbreon should get an analysis. I've been using it a lot and it may be outclassed by Blissey/Chansey as a cleric and WishPasser, but it has a strong niche because it provides other roles. It's got great mixed bulk, dark type is really good defensively, Foul Play is one of the main reasons for its viability since that moves punishes a lot of switch-ins, and it's a great team supporter.

Umbreon's been brought up before and the QC team decided to reject it. However, since it's being talked about in the viability ranking thread and now you bringing it back up, I'll make you a deal. Give me 10 back-to-back replays of your Umbreon team and post them in this thread, preferably with the turn numbers where Umbreon does something important. We will evaluate it again and then give Umbreon an approval or not, since we're still skeptical at the moment.

For what it's worth - the Foul Play buff is the biggest factor to Umbreon. If any set has it missing it should automatically be rejected. Also - no fucking Swagger.

Okay, I'm back from vacation Nd it's time for me to get off my lazy ass haha. I'm gonna start writing up by analyses for Kingdra and Infernape tonight.

Has Darkaxis not responded for 24 hours? (In other words, can I get Tyrantrum?) I can't see the time stamps on my tablet...

I took back-to-back to mean 10 consecutive replays, so these are the first 10 ladder battles I had, should be indicative of average experience with Umbreon reasonably high on the ladder. Hopefully these will show that Umbreon has a strong niche and does well in OU.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74144379 Turns 4-5 Umbreon cleanly takes <50% from an unresisted Specs Draco Meteor from Latios and uses that momentum to Heal Bell the Spore from his Smeargle, it walls it again at turn 10
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74148270 Turns 8-10 Umbreon walls my opponent's extremely questionable DD Charizard-Y with Air Slash and 2HKO's with Foul Play, it would have been useful later in the battle to cure the burn off of Manectric and Tentacruel but I lost it when I switched it into Trevenant anticipating Will-O-Wisp and got hit with Wood Hammer at low health
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74151257 Turns 13-14 Umbreon handles Aegislash nicely, only taking ~60% from Sacred Sword and destroying it with Foul Play. Foul Play also doesn't care about King's Shield drops, which is another pro for it, turn 22 it trolls HJK with protect, and turn 28 it easily takes Landorus-T's EQ and finishes the battle with Foul Play
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74155205 Turns 25-28 Umbreon takes out Latias from 82% with Foul Play (was a crit, but still means it would do >50%), and then it does nearly 50% to Charizard-Y with Foul Play, meaning that it can't heal up and it would avoid a 2HKO from Fire blast with Wishtect
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74158484 I played pretty badly, but Turn 16 it avoids a 2HKO from Thundurus's Focus Blast and kills it, around Turn 20 it walls scarf Garchomp's Earthquake and it passes a wish to Deoxys-S to let me stay around a little longer
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74161648 Turn 11, and then Turns 16-18 Umbreon walks all over his team with only special pokemon remaining
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74166319 Umbreon got critted on Turn 9 for a premature death, although it wasn't particularly needed against that team
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74169262 Turns 4-12 Umbreon tanks U-turns and Volt Switches very well and does lots of damage with Foul Play, then is able to take Banded Weavile's Brick Breaks, Turn 23 it only takes 35% from STAB LO Hyper Voice from Meloetta and heals up
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74172784 At the start Umbreon handles Aegislash pretty well, also takes Rotom-W with ease, on Turn 27 it KO's Genesect trying to switch in with Foul Play, on Turn 34 it heals Hippowdon's freeze, and finishes stalling out the LO Aegislash at 47
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-74178706 Turns 5-7 Umbreon handles Aegislash

Since Tyrantrum doesn't have Rock Head yet, do I make an "unreleased" section under Checks/Counters a la Gen 5 analyses and talk about there?
