EDIT: STABX4, I imagine they prefer the ball-opening animation for certain things better, like the neat shadows when something comes out of a Dusk Ball.

Changing the date/time will make you unable to participate in the lottery for 48H or so
 
Speaking of Masterballs and matching Pokemon, I'm looking to use my Masterball on a wild female to make a interesting new one for my shop. Any suggestions on what one I should use it on? (don't say Bidoof...)

Master and Cherish Balls dont pass from females, sadly :/

I have not tested it myself, but I don't think the Masterball can be passed down.

Yes, but if the Loto number generation is known, you could find an ID that you have, set the date to a couple days before that, wait a bit and get a free master ball. Which is what I was wondering.

Except it doesn't tell you what the lottery number is.

From what I know, I believe it works in the same way as the ID generation when you start a new save. So basicly, it is impossible to predict the next number.
