Sandstorm Legends 2.0 - OU Sand Team (#1 on the Ladder 3031!!!!)

I love the Earth Plate on Lando just simply because you can bluff scarf so easily ^_^.

Anyway, OT: What do you do against other Conkeldurr? I feel like it's a HUGE threat :/.

The thing about conkeldurr is that is that if someone predicts your ass, then it's probably gonna either kill, or get a very large hit off on something. The best thing to do is somehow predict the guy back by getting a switch into lando-T and or aegislash. Yes it is a pain to deal with, but there's a good reason why I speed creep my conkeldurr ; )

THANK YOU
I would like to give a thank you to all of you guys that have viewed my team some time or another to make it what is. I sincerely appreciate the feedback from all of you guys, and I believe that you have really improved my team from where it was before.

For all of the people that are still hating my team and saying that its not legit, I have peaked, without much difficulty in the ELO ladder, so I recommend that you try my team out, before making such rash judgments ; )

Hi Moonbase,

I have tested your team and have found that it can't really touch Mega Venusaur, unless you get lucky with a Mega Tyranitar at +2 and are able to slowly KO with Fire Punch. One change I would make is simply swapping Landorus Therian to Landorus Incarnate. This set effectively makes his base 90 moves reach over 152 base power after Life Orb and Sheer Force are factored in. Here is the set I used:

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Psychic

It worked rather well for me in getting a 2HKO on all Mega Venusaur. I was hovering at around 1600 on the ladder with it originally but with the swap to Landorus Incarnate, I quickly shot up to 1675+. Tell me what you think,

EDIT: Also, I tend to rarely use Iron Head on Genesect. I switched it out for Thunderbolt to be able to hit Gyarados, Talonflame on the switch, and many others much harder. Here's the set I used while testing:

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

TBH, you really shouldn't have problems with mega venasaur because against defensive variant
252+ SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Venusaur: 177-211 (48.6 - 57.9%) -- 95.7% chance to 2HKO
And against specially defensive
252+ Atk Earth Plate Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Mega Venusaur: 195-231 (53.5 - 63.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

But then again, do whatever you want, the only issue with what you suggest is that I don't get rocks which is a mucho grande problemo in OU.

I like iron head to take out fairies like togekiss and clefable.

If the Mega Venusaur uses Leech Seed on the first turn you Shadow Ball or EQ, you have to get pretty lucky to not be stalled out by Leech Seed/Synthesis combo

EDIT: If he uses Giga Drain on either one, he should have gained enough HP to use LS or Synthesis, eventually stalling you out

You have to remember that there's a good chance that there will be rocks up, and/or the sand in up and/or this dude is burned in this process. You are assuming that he will be in a perfect condition to stall me out, which most of the time, is not the case

BTW: leech seed misses

I think i played a copy of this team the other day because i recognize the nicknames. All i have to say is that this is a solid team and mega tyranitar is an underrated set up sweeper

Use the old version of this team, even if you are weak to Excadrill, This variant gets 6-0ed by chestnut.

EDIT: I will be posting a new variant of this team when mega luke/ genesect gets banned.

I've been trying out this team, and I've been having a lot of luck with it.

I tried out Lando-I over Lando-T, but it wasn't really working out. Having a Volt/turn core of Genesect and 2 pokemon that can either Intimidate or Burn has saved my ass numerous times.

I was also not too sure about Aegislash, but was having a lot of issues with all of my attempted replacements. Having a spinblocker and wallbreaker on this team is very nice. And the fact that Aegislash is very predictable is beneficial to this team. I've takenout numerous threats by not King's Shielding and just firing another shadow ball when the enemy thinks they can get a free switch or turn to set up.

I've had a few sweeps with Mega Tyranitar, but the real star of the show has been Conkeldurr. I've had so many ragequits from him killing 2+ things in a row.

Now that I got the gushing out of the way, I think the only way to improve this team is to make a list of threats.

Sorry, the link broke because there were 2 commas in it for some reason, so I'll just say Crawdaunt, CBNite and the rare Exploud are the biggest threats atm.

I'll agree that Crawdaunt is an asshole to deal with, but the other two are not at all. CBnite is wrecked by the Landorus-T, Aegislash duo and Exploud is easy to bait and switch to Aegislash. Also Exploud is ridiculously slow.

I would like to point out something very important, by saying, crawdaunt is NEVER used high ladder. CB nite IS NOT wrecked by lando T, what you do to deal with it is break its multi scale with whatever poke you have out, do NOT try to burn it with rotom, and then you revenge it with genesect. And NO one uses explode, unless they want to get shit on by sub-disable gengar. Sorry to be harsh, but this team is supposed to work well on the high ladder(not really anymore, but it used to) and if you are so low that you are experiencing those kinds of threats, I cannot help you.

Its great that you're having some success with this team. HTat's how I play aegis lash, so you're obviously playing the team decently well. The thing about king's shield is when you are facing some sort of offensive pokemon like scizor, its best to switch off between shadow ball and KS, but if flash cannon works for you, go for it.. (you might want to try it, you get shit on by chestnut otherwise) You honestly only use megattar when sweeping a WEAKENED team, so you might want to keep that in mind

Actually I have seen a few crawdaunt on the high end of the ladder this gen, not sure what people see in the dark lobster, but he's ranked in the official ou threat list and does see play, albeit rarely

Haha, I don't pay attention to that tier list b/c it's for new players, to show them what works or not. But yea, anything that's choiced with a band and or scarf that's in on a pokemon that it can just shit on is a problem for all teams, so yes craw daunt is a threat is the right circumstances, but that's something that stall teams should be more worried about.

Hi,
I had played your team often on my Pokemon X. Now, Genesect is Oober, how replace it ? He was my lead, and i don't find any Scarfer who can do the same job beacuse he was a good mixed. What can you suggest ? Heatran@Scarfer or Flygon@Scarfer maybe ?

(Sorry for my english :s)

I will be updating the OP with the correct version of this team, when i hav enough time! until then. Use whatever the hell you want.

Hey moonbase, will you be updating the OP anytime soon? I am interested to see what changes you have made to it now with the banning of Genesect.

Thanks,
