Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

Going to rejoin the project now, extending the pledge to 3000 eggs. I'll be a bit busier but should still be able to get it done at a steady pace.

I can see how excited you are! shaky camara! hehe.

But then natures random =(

Also wheres the egg moves at? xD

Yes I know Kricketot has no egg moves but it can still have "Egg moves" =)

Congratulations on your shiny though! ^^

*goes back to masudaing lileep*

wat u mean by "Egg moves"?

kinda looking for a HA one to breed but can't find any...>_<

Were you connected to internet when you got these eggs?

I might have been. I probably closed my DS a couple times and either forgot to reconnect or hatched eggs while not connected. I generally make it a point to stay connected mots of the time though so it's a safe assumption to make that I was for the whole time.

does being online affect shiny rates?

i prefer mm/ shiny charming for non HA pokes, i dont want to get a shiny only to find it doesn't have its HA :(

Mm I agree on the HA trying to breed Storm Drain Lileep and I bet you I'll face palm when it shows up without that!

@pokekid88
If you need a HA kricketot I'll be glad to get you one tomorrow I know someone with it.

as for egg moves? I'll enlighten you Kricketot doesn't have many level up moves so it doesn't matter for it.
I was just teasing you =D

I'll take Noibat as a example though.
if both the Male and female know Super Fang it will pass to the baby but do keep in mind only 4 "egg moves" will pass.
Noibats egg moves are Tailwind Switcheroo Snatch and Outrage
Super Fang is a level up move.

Hardly worth it though in my opinion.

(I've actually never tested to see if you only need one parent for a level up move always used two I used two Noibats in this example.)

I'm currently MMing + shiny charm for a shiny Pumpkaboo, I'll track my statistics to 1000 eggs for this and can say that I just got 800 and no shinies yet.

Edit: 900 and nothing.
Edit 2: Hit 1000 and no shinies. This makes me think the 1/450 odds are right.

HA for my "competitive" kricketune....though i know its not a competitve pokemon...but kricketune is always cool....haha

delelelelelele Whoooop~~~

Finally got my shiny Chikorita after some 200 eggs, it hatched from the 10 first eggs I got after tipping some 10ks to Kiloude City poet. I hadn't had any shiny before since I had the Charm. This might of course be odds, but this is rather intriguing.

I know how you feel I myself am a Mono Bug user and krickatune is something I've yet to create a competitive one, got some other bugs I should create too sometime it's funny how many people forget krickatune exists.

Mm I should donate 1mil to the poet and fail to get a shiny =D

400 eggs hatched using diferent parents...No shiny. Going to try for a shiny drilbur now. Going to tip 10k to the poet and be online while collecting my new eggs. I'm planning to collect batch of 100 eggs. Going to use a JAP 6ivs shiny ditto although I don't trust it for masuda.

Update:

JAP 6 IV Ditto vs ENG 5 IV female Drilbur

60 eggs: shiny at #55. My fastest shiny so far. 5 IVs with mold breaker :D

I was online when I collected the eggs, pay 10000 of tips to the poet, collected 10 eggs, then paid another 2000, collected, another 2000 and so on. Going to continue tipping the poet, maybe tipping makes an additional ID shiny value check... If not, I'm going to make the poet a millionaire because I'm going to continue tipping him XD

so, i've been trolling this thread for a couple weeks now. it actually inspired me to finish the dex -- took me about five days (with minimal sleep =_=). i'm a fire type trainer so as soon as i got the charm, i set to work on breeding a golden fox, with hopes of contributing to this thread. unfortunately, i am absolutely horrible at keeping track of how many eggs i'm hatching. i lose count, forget to tally, get confused, etc. so, sorry for being useless and stuff =/. but i can report that i got two masuda method shinies (poliwag and growlithe) before the charm over the span of two months of heavy breeding. and i got another two (vulpix and houndour) in the space of two days after obtaining the charm. the vulpix was ~70 eggs in. the houndour was ~40. both 4iv, but the vulpix had drought so i'm pretty satisfied. and while my data isn't anywhere near exact, i'm fairly convinced myself that the shiny charm does have an effect on 'mons obtained through breeding. for the record, while i did get a 6iv ditto in a trade, i've yet to use him for breeding. both the vulpix and houndour had a 5iv kalos born japanese eevee for a father. i wonder if that kalos hexagon has an effect on the rate of shininess...

Buneary:
5v naive jpn m torchic (destiny knot)/4v jolly eng f buneary (everstone), then switched to 5v buneary mother (still with everstone) around 140 eggs
batch 1: 0/100
batch 2: 2/100 (shinies on eggs 53 and 84)

Scatterbug:
6v eng f vivillon, modern (destiny knot)/4v jpn m vivillon, elegant (everstone)
batch 1: 0/100
batch 2: 1/100 (egg 98)

total: 3/400

I've been watching this thread for a while and now that I have my shiny charm and found a good japanese parent, I'm going to try for a shiny Froakie.

Parents: US Female (31/*/31/31/31/31), Japanese Male (31/31/31/31/*/31).
Trying for Protean too though not holding my breath that the RNG will favor me.

Batches of 100 eggs
Batch 1: 0
Batch 2: Shiny Tympol! (about egg 150)
Batch 3: Shiny Coragunk (about egg 280)
Batch 4: in progress

*Gets shinies* "Wooooo!" *checks IVs* 4? not bad *Looks at nature* ffffffffff *Face-desk* I accidently put my everstone on my ditto instead of the krickatot! will update my post on page 2 as soon as I finish these 100 eggs >_>

Updated the spreadsheet! Another shiny!!!! That makes it 4 shinies since shiny charm while doing masuda method! Total of 840 eggs. Got my 5 iv cottonee but missing hp. No big deal! I just need Whimsicott to cripple things. It doesn't have prankster but an ability caspule will fix that!
