So, I have the downloaded client. How do I save my teams such that they are kept upon closing and reopening Showdown? As far as I can tell, the save feature merely saves changes to your team(s) for that session only. Do I have to use the import/export text feature?

The teams are saved to your cookies. If you delete your browser history or are using some form of incognito/private browsing your teams will not be saved. If that's not practical for you, you can save your teams to a text file by clicking the "Backup/restore all teams"

I can understand the cookies part for the browser-based version of Showdown, but does that also apply for the manually installed version? I just figured that the teams would be saved as regular files.

In any case, I'm not actively deleting my cookies. At least, as far as I'm aware. I run AdBlock, but I can't see how that would interfere with Showdown.

I'm also not running a private browser (just regular, non-incognito Chrome), but again I'm not playing Showdown via my browser.

Is there a way to just turn off chat altogether during a battle? All I ever get in the chat from the other battler is anger for hax and taunting when they make a good move. Almost never does it add to my enjoyment of a battle. I just want to battle in peace. Is this possible? If not I will post it in the suggestions thread.

I actually liked more the old ones :/

(not intended to be offensive towards the staff, you're all doing a great work...I guess it's just personal taste ;) )

You can still use the previous sprites by hitting the 'Disable Animations' tickbox in the options menu in the left corner. This currently doesn't let you have battle animations with it though.

Is there going to be another OU ladder reset in the near future?
Generally speaking, ladder resets are not planned. In other words, no date is specifically outlined, nor is there a schedule. If one were to occur in the future, it would most likely be as a result from a new suspect test or a global reset to all ladders due to a change in the system.

Clefable is just getting unfair... If its at full hp when its sent out, theres absolutely nothing you can do.

Another guy (the same guy?) said basically this exact thing in the XY simple answers thread, so I'll C+P my answer here too. Before that, I'll just say you lost this match because of your own misplay on turn 30. You leech seeded rather than just going for the sludge bomb. You can't argue Clefable is un-killable if the only reason you don't kill it is because of your own misplay. After that point, quite frankly the only reason you didn't win despite the misplay was because you got REALLY unlucky with not getting a crit despite hitting so many times. Finally, it was clearly max special defense, which means it would have been killable if you had a physical attacker like the ones below.

C+P from other thread:

List of pokemon that can (usually) counter Clefable--that is, switch in on Clefable at full HP and threaten it out or kill it--assuming you don't waste turns letting it set up:
Swords Dance Aegislash (esp. with Iron Head)
Mega Venusaur (sleep powder is a plus)
Bisharp with at least 104 HP Evs
Heatran (can tank all day thanks to quad-resisting moonblast, being immune to flamethrower, and resisting stored power, and can roar it out to give a different pokemon a better chance to kill it or spam flash cannon until it crits)
Swords Dance Talonflame
Excadrill (even Jolly) - (resists moonblast and stored power and can flinch with iron head - AV helps with flamethrower)
Mega Mawile
Landorus-I with sludge wave

Other options:
Taunt it
Trick it a choice item (esp. if it's the last thing left on your opponents team so it can't switch out)
Put it to sleep and kill it before it wakes up (Mega Venusaur is best for this)
pHaze it out and try again later
In your case you could have saved Ditto and switched it in once Clefable set up
