My First RMT-OU Tank Team

Hey guys, thanks in advance for helping me on my team.
I wanted to make a good OU team, that doesn't use the same pokemon that you see on every other team.(Aegislash, Rotom, Talonflame, ect.) I'm not saying those are bad pokes, there's a reason why people use them, I'm just saying I want a team that's unique compared to most other OU teams. So, let's bet started.

Forretress @ Occa Berry
Ability: Sturdy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Def / 248 HP / 8 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin/Toxic Spikes
- Volt Switch/Rapid Spin

Forretress is probably the pokemon I'm the most unsure about on my team. I wanted someone that can set up hazards to get a little damage on everyone on their team, to make the job of my sweepers easier. The problem is, he's kind of a sacrifice lead, but you want him to stay alive, so that he can get rid of any hazards the opponent might want to setup.

So if you guys can find a replacement for him, that would make this team much better. I tried using a Skarmory with defog, but that kinda defeats the purpose, because you'd be getting rid of your own hazards too.


Cresselia @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 8 Def
Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Thunder Wave/Psychic
- Lunar Dance

Cresselia is the first of the three tanks on this team, and is a vital part of your offensive game too. Cress is more of a special tank, but with a reflect up, can pretty much take any physical hit too. He's a vital part in the offensive part of the team, because with those screens, your sweepers, Mega-Heracross and Dragonite can take quite a bit of hits. The one thing you have to worry about about is knock off. Try to avoid getting your item knocked off, because then, it's harder to sweep without those screens up for as long.If you know a Knock Off is coming, Heracross not only resists it, but he won't lose his item. Then if either Heracross or Dragonite is about to die, switch in to one of you three tanks, Cresselia, Entei or Umbreon, take the hit, then wait for a safe switch into Cresselia, Lunar Dance, and completely restore the next pokemon that switches in.

You can try to switch Cresselia with another screener, like Latias, who has Healing Wish, which is the same move as Lunar Dance.


Entei @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 124 SDef / 136 Def
Impish Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
- Return

As you guys can see, this Entei is not the normal Flare Blitz, Extreme Speed Entei. Instead, this is the bulky Assault Vest Entei that I took off Smogon Forums. The Assault Vest makes him a Special tank, but his impish nature and the burn chance on Sacred Fire, makes him physical too. The "unique" EV spread is actually a vital part of this Entei's set.

252+ Atk Life Orb Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 248 HP / 136+ Def Entei: 183-216 (42.2 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 32 SpD Assault Vest Entei: 322-382 (74.3 - 88.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.

I think that speaks for itself...


Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SDef / 252 Def
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Foul Play

In my opinion, Umbreon is the best Eeveeolution. Having his EVs and nature invested in Def makes him a great all around tank. Often, people will often rely on status to kill him, but Synchronize, statuses them also, and you have Heal Bell. Umbreon can also pass a very good amount of HP back to his teammates with wish. The one thing that you have to watch out about is that his wish only comes true at the end of the turn, when the switch in already has taken Stealth Rock damage, and damage from the move the opponent might have used. Another very useful thing about Umbreon, is that when you have a Dragonite or something setting up D-Dances, a Foul Play is sure to take him out. Umbreon is a stud on this team and I'd never recommend switching him out.


Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake

This is a basic Dragonite set. The only thing that pops out, is that he has Leftovers. If you want, you can carry a Lum Berry too. If you manage too keep your opponent from setting up rocks too keep your Multiscale intact, and if you can set up screens for Dragonite, you pretty safe to set up a couple of Dragon Dances. If this happens, it's pretty much good game, with a combo of a stab Dragon Claw, and a +2 priority Extreme Speed.


Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Bullet Seed

Last, but definitely not least, is Heracross. He's your second sweeper after Dragonite. If you can get a Moxie boost before mega evolving, that would be great. But after you mega evolve, you get skill link, and out of your three 2-5 hit moves, your greatest counter is Aegislash. That's why you have Earthquake over Close Combat, or Arm Thrust.

The one thing you need to watch out about with Heracross is Flying type moves, which are 4 times effective.
But you have many pokes that can take care of those big flying threats like Talonflame.

Replace Forretress with Excadrill.
Replace ExtremeSpeed with Roost on Dragonite and give it a Weakness Policy.
From my experience, this is a great Core.
 
The reason I didn't use Excadrill is because I like the spikes, I want to punish them as much as I can for switching in and out.
I find Spikes to be more trouble than it's worth most of the time. Stealth Rocks alone is fine as entry hazards.
And there's a reason why entry hazards are less common now. With Defog Mandibuzz being everywhere now, it's harder to keep up hazards.
I think losing Spikes is a good trade off for having a great core in Dragonite and Excadrill. I've used that core since XY OU started, and from experience, it works.

Alright thanks, I'll try it out. Do you have any other suggestions? Maybe something a little more bulky?
