Wobbuffet isn't Uber

So the Tiers thread is proabbly locked for good reason but seriously Wobbuffet isn't an Uber. Has anyone even tried using him lately?

Yes actually, a lot of people have. A lot of people tried to be clever and throw a Wobbuffet into their teams in the Australian Connection Tour and they were all systematically chewed up and spat out across the country.

Wethor it's fling, or crunch, or megahorn or shadow ball or simply Shedinja, nobody got far with Wobbuffet. U-turn switches out despite Shadow Tag and Wobbuffet Wobbuffet matches now also allow switching out.

Fact is he's just not that good anymore.

Great. Now try to get someone with Fling, Crunch, or Megahorn in while Wobbuffet is on the field. Unless you got a U-Turn or a Baton Passer on the field... you're locked out.

Wobbuffet is instant kill to at least one opponent pokemon if you switch it in correctly (aka: who the hell switches Wobbuffet onto Heracross?). Add wish support and you've got serious issues.

Oh, and Sucker Punch pretty much pwns any form of Mewtwo. It doesn't stop Mewtwo from being uber.
 
Fact: both contestants in the finals of the Smogon WiFi Tournament #1 used Wobbuffet.

Now it's my anecdotal evidence vs yours! Wobbuffet is still broken. I'm pretty sure most of the people didn't know what they were doing.

FEAR is pretty much an instant kill too but we're in no hurry to classify Phanpy as Uber. Wobbuffets have it hard against a mixed sweeper too, so long as they don't sacrifice Safetygaurd for Encore.

FEAR sets are gimmicks that get fucked over in a Sandstorm or by another priority move user. Wobbuffet has the potential to kill off half a team before going down.
 
All figures assuming 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef, Careful.
Fling is really never seen. CB or 1 DD Tar can't even guarantee a KO on it, and if you don't quite make it, you get KOed. Heracross needs CB or a Swords Dance to guarantee a KO with Megahorn. If Scarf Hera tries to KO it, it gets KOed back. No Shadow Ball user that I could think of has any chance. Even Modest Gengar with Specs can't OHKO. And who uses Shedinja? Not with Stealth Rock and Sandstorm getting as much use as they are. U-turn works, I suppose, but then your swichin could get hit with a Countered U-turn.

Wobb is also very useful against SpecsMence. Let it kill something with Draco Meteor and then you survive even with a CH and KO it. Basically, Wobb is the suicide revenge killer that can kill almost anything and is almost impossible to OHKO without having a SE CBed Megahorn, or a CH.

The only argument that I see for you is that it is 2HKOed by a lot of SE attacks, and therefore can't be switched in very easily.

I've yet to see a FEAR take down more than one pokemon. With Wobbuffet, you can take down one pokemon, switch out, wish him back and kill another.

Try that with FEAR.

The FEAR that RABicle mentioned is Phanpy. Unless the opponent is Abomasnow or a ghost, or uses something like Fury Attack or Pin Missile, they go down to 1 HP when you sash the attack and then die to Ice Shard or KO you and are left with 1 HP. If anything, sandstorm helps you, because they have to be resistant to sandstorm and have a priority attack to stay at 1 HP, unless they're a ghost or Abomasnow.

Or I suppose something like Ice Beam hax or Fire Blast burn could help you live.

Pin Missle doesn't go through Focus Sash btw.

really? that's dumb.
And on topic, pin missile is one thing that could also beat Wobb :P it can only counter the last hit.
 
Wobba is uber, if by chance both team members have wobba and they are left as their last pokemon it's creates the same problem as in adv.

Endeavor doesn't hit Ghosts.

Spiritomb is pretty much a foolproof counter, and forces them to switch. The only problem is you have to predict when they switch to Wobbuffet because of Shadow Tag.

Wobbuffet is uber. Wynaut however could probably be debated.
 
Guys, this has been repeated several times. No tier discussion. Wobbuffet itself has also been repeated 5000 times over again.
