The reason I am asking this, is because I just lost a battle that I should've easily won (I lost to a MANTINE) but I lost because my three remaining Pokemon had terrible move sets. It was highly embarrassing.
Thanks for all the helpful info! I'll be sure to use it!Welcome to Smogon, dksoulstice! Allow me to answer your question:
For Random Battles or Challenge Cup: No. Those movesets are completely randomized based on moves that the Pokemon can use effectively (and have been used in the usage stats).
For everything else, perhaps this very helpful diagram could be of assistance (note that I annotated stuff in red to make it easier to read than just ordinary black text, which people can mistaken for the background and not the diagram):
I hope this helps you, and have a nice day.![]()
NOTE: I'd highly recommend asking questions like this in the Simple Questions, Simple Answers thread in the future.
Thanks for the info mate!
This video I made should help you use PS! effectively, including using the teambuilder and making your own team, as well as choosing a tier. Also, the people in the "Competitive Tutoring" room will be happy to help you. Teambuilder instructions start around the 13 minute mark. To use the teams you make, be sure to pick another tier, such as OU or UU, which should also be shown in the video.
Nice channel plug :)
