To give you guys a short introduction why I wanted to make this team..
Well basically I just wanted to try out the OU Monotype in Pokemon Showdown.. simple as that.. but before competing I wondered what kind of type I should choose.. and in the end I chose the normal Pokemon type.. why ? I was simply looking for something where I could use my favourite pokemon.. which is even useful.. Ditto.. this little thing which can be everything you want to be.. and since Ditto is normal I chose the Pokemon type normal.. so it wasn't necessary because I was looking for a type which has the best defense against most Pokemon types or something.. Alright so here comes my team:
Sloth (Smeargle) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 80 HP / 96 Def / 80 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Shell Smash
- Spore
- Baton Pass
- Ingrain
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Leader/Start Pokemon
I think it's kinda obvious when you look at my moveset etc
Basically it's role is to use Spore on the enemy pokemon -> it sleeps.. I can set up Shell Smash and if it goes well Ingrain too.. then depending of team of my enemy.. I use Baton Pass for Heliolisk etc..
Focus Sash is there so that it can at least survive 1 hit.. I have bad luck though if it faces Tyranitar or any other Pokemon which might can change the weather.. or when I try to use it in late game and hazards are in the field..
Gluttony (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Healer
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Protect
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Wall
Eviolite for obvious reasons.. since it boosts the already nice def etc of my pokemon to even higher levels.. this way it withstands nearly everything..
Together with Toxic Soft-Boilet and Protect I can use Toxic on the enemy pokemon.. and gradually it loses more and more HP while I can protect myself with Protect and heal Chansey.. should it get into a critical situation..
Since Lady Luck seems to love me sometimes too.. I chose the ability Healer.. this way it ocassionally heals the status problems of my Pokemons..
Wrath (Sawsbuck) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 216 Spd / 246 Atk / 48 HP
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Return
- Jump Kick
- Megahorn
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Sweeper
Equipped with Life Orb which is supposed to increase its power as sweeper in exchange for some HP.. but no pain no gain..
Return for Stab.. Jump Kick for other Monotype Normal Teams.. Megahorn against another Grass Pokemon and Horn Leech against other Water Pokemons.. Basically it has a nice coverage against most enemies..
Pride (Heliolisk) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Spec Sweeper
I chose Thunderbolt because Thunder was too risky with its low accuracy..
Basically it's equipped with Choice Specs to ensure it hits harder..
With it's wide movepool it also checks most pokemons it's switched in.. Hidden Power Ice for Dragons.. Surf for Fire Rock etc Pokemons..
Basically it could be viewed as good comrade to Sawsbuck
Envy (Ditto) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Transform
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Revenge Killer
Switches in to finish of Pokemons.. to kill the weakened pokemons or to revenge Pokemons my enemy killed.. that's why I also gave it the Choice Scarf to make sure it hits first
Or I simply can see the movepools of certain Pokemons with it.. which provides me with valuable Information..
And if my enemy sets up I can switch it into too and get the boosts for myself
Lust (Meloetta) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Perish Song
- Psyshock
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn
--------------------------------
Role in my team: Special Wall/Scout
It can function as scout if I decide for personal reasons Smeargle is ineffective to send out first.. so I gave it U-Turn..
The EV Set is supposed to gave it more Def to tank Special Attacks.. Thunder Wave also cripples some sweepers or Perish Song.. while Psyshock gives it a nice Stab Attack
Team Strategy: No real strategy imo.. Smeargle just sets up.. baton passes to the best pokemon and then I sweep.. once it's down I'm either fucked or try out my luck with the remaining pokemons I have..
Weaknesses/Threats: No real information yet.. since I don't think my team has alot of synergy.. but the obvious ones are fighting.. maybe some teams which abuse hazards too since I don't have a rapid spinner etc.. I didn't play with it that often yet to be able to say much..
This team is mostly only for the Monotype OU in Pokemon Showdown.. I already won a few matches with it.. but that was mostly luck and the "incompetence" of my enemy imo.. so I could really need some advice here.. since I'm still new to this whole Pokemon Team building thing.. I'm open for any advice.. a man should be big enough to admit his mistakes.. strong enough to correct them and smart enough to profit from them.. Thank you very much..
