Here is my first OU RMT. I decided to make it for the fact that Crawdaunt came up to BL. I thought, “If it can be banned from UU, it can do something in OU. Something big.” Here is the Teambuilding process:

Crawdaunt was the first thing to come. I decided to roll with a DD set, as I liked the speed and power it brought, and it attempts to make him a sweeper.

Galvantula was added. Crawdaunt has an awful base 55 speed, being a little bit faster than Azumarill. Sticky Web changes this.

While it may seem as if an Adaptaability Monster with 120 Attack doesn’t need rocks, it can help him captialize on some KOs. Heatran was added for this reason.

Celebi was the next thing added. I already had a Fire type and a Water type, and I love to build FWG cores with a Physical Wall (Celebi), a Special Wall (Heatran), and an Attacker (Crawdaunt).

Talonflame came along. He provides Tailwind support if my Sticky Web fails. He also rocks a mean Band set.

Lando-T was added for some more Offensive Firepower. He too rocks a mean Scarf set.

Onto the team itself:

Mr. Krabs (Crawdaunt) @ Life Orb

Ability: Adaptability

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef

Jolly Nature

- Aqua Jet

- Waterfall

- Knock Off

- Dragon Dance

The Star of my Show. I have been wanting to use Crawdaunt for a while, but I never felt like going down to UU for it. Thankfully, it heard my calls and has climbed up to BL. While it may not be OU, BL passes it for me. Chansey was here last gen, and yet she was still amazing. And, with Mega Lucario getting banned, I grieved the loss. But, I got over that as Crawdaunt itself is a mini Lucario, just a whole lot slower and a bit less powerful. Onto the set.

I went for a DD set. While it may be outclassed by Megados, and a Band set may seem a bit more logical, I wanted to use the speed boost to sweep, not break. I added Knock Off, as that is one of the things going for Crawdaunt this gen, and it what separates it from Megados. Now I needed Water STABs, so I first settled for Aqua Jet. The priority is amazing. I added Waterfall just in case I needed the power to break through something.

I run the current EVs for the Speed, I can outrun Max speed 105, and a lot more with Tailwind+Sticky Web.

Galvantula @ Focus Sash

Ability: Swarm

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef

Timid Nature

- Bug Buzz

- Volt Switch

- Sticky Web

- Hidden Power [Ice]

My Galvantula. It is different from the standard Galvantula, which normally carry Compound Eyes+Thunder. I decided to use a Swarm set, a set which abuses the full power of the Focus Sash. Its power surpasses Thunder by a bit, and it still has the good power. Bug Buzz can also deal with Mega Absol and Espeon, Magic Bouncers, and Deoxys-S/D.

I went for the HP Ice to get a surprise on Gliscor and Lando-T, and while it may not be a clean OHKO, it can still force them out and can let me set up Sticky Web. Volt Switch comes in when I know I am not getting an ensured KO or a safe Sticky Web.

Heatran @ Leftovers

Ability: Flash Fire

EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk

Calm Nature

- Roar

- Lava Plume

- Stealth Rock

- Toxic

Heatran, an amazing and great Pokemon. He used to be one of my favorite Pokemon due to all the resists. And, now that I have entered the Competitive field, he doesn’t fail to impress. He is a great Rocks Setter. He can also counter the also common Talonflame, which has died down a bit. He forms the F in the FWG core.

I went for a rather standard Specially Defensive set. He can certainly do this very well. I had originally went with Earth Power>Roar, but I had Lando for opposing Heatran. Lava Plume is my status, burning them, adding to Celebi’s and Heatran’s Physical Bulk. Rocks are here to hurt the all common Charizards and Talonflames. Toxic is chosen should I need to come to a late game stall.

I run the standard EVs for Specially Defensive, but am considering Physically Defensive to take EQs better and wall the Meta in a better way. This one has become focused on Physical power.

C:\Users\Arib\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif

Celebi @ Leftovers

Ability: Natural Cure

EVs: 36 Spd / 252 HP / 220 Def

Bold Nature

- Giga Drain

- Recover

- Heal Bell

- U-turn

My G in the FWG core. This, along with Heatran, form an amazing late game stall core. I may be down to just 2 Pokemon, but it is still great. I had come to a game in which Celebi alone cleared 4 Pokemon. He may get replaced. I considered a Mew, but then I lost my FWG core.

I run a Physically Defensive one, as it helps me brace for the mighty Physical moves that are thrown around from Pokemon like Dragonite, Conkledurr, and Breloom. It is stupid to stay in on Conk, but Celebi has taken one out before. Giga Drain comes in handy for healing. Recover is my healing. Heal Bell cures Crawdaunt of a Burn or Toxic or Paralysis. U-Turn is the final move, switching when I need it.

The EVs are rather standard. I just took what Showdown recommended as Specially Defensive but made it Physical.

Talonflame @ Choice Band

Ability: Gale Wings

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef

Jolly Nature

- Brave Bird

- Flare Blitz

- U-turn

- Tailwind

Now, we have Tailwind support and a powerful attacker. I may replace it for Tornadus-I as he can set up Prankster Tailwind, and Prankster>Gale Wings. Tornadus-I can also bring some Special Attacking power, something my team lacks. I had greatly underrated this until recently, and I owe a lot of apologies to this.

I run a Band set. The power it brings is just too much. I like it over LO and such. It is odd to have non-attacking move on a Choice set, but Talonflame has an awful Physical movepool that cannot do well with Choice items. I may consider a Bulkier set, like a support one with Will-O-Wisp, Roost, Brave Bird, and Tailwind. I run a Jolly nature to hurt opposing Talonflames, and Flare Blitz+Brave Bird are rather standard STABs.

EVs are straight forward, but they minimize SR.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Intimidate

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk

Naive Nature

- Earthquake

- Knock Off

- Hidden Power [Ice]

- U-turn

My Scarfer and another powerhouse. He is awesome at coming in, getting off a Knock Off/EQ, and switching out. I also love Landoge over every thing else because of Intimidate. It can Bulk up my Pokemon by a bit.

I use a rather straightforward Scarf set. I have EQ for STAB, Knock Off is here to take out the items, HP Ice is recently added over Explosion, and is here to take out Gliscor. Explosion was really nice, as when I had him around, it was late game and the opponent was devestated by THE MOST POWERFUL EXPLOSION. U-turn is here to scout and switch out when I need it.

The EVs are standard, and I 2HKO the things with HP Ice that can bulk through my other moves, like Landoge and Gliscor.

There it is! The next post is Threats and replays.

Looks like a good team! I love the use of a BL poke like Crawdaunt. I would like to suggest a two things though. First is that you should try running Adamant over Jolly Nature. You'll need the extra muscle to guarantee a few more KOs with Aqua Jet should you be unable to set up DD. And second, something I realized in that replay you posted against stall. Talonflame really didn't do much and not having a hazard remover shortens his already short lifespan more. So I'd suggest swap Talonflame for Latias. She provides offensive pressure with a respectable base 110 SAtk and can eat hits with great special bulk. She can check Mega Venusaur and nuke stuff with Draco Meteor. She also has Healing Wish which can save a crucial poke from the brink of doom and a lot of other options. Hope I helped and good luck with your team!!
Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Healing Wish / Recover / Surf
Pretty standard set here. I'd recommend Healing Wish but Recover allows you to stay alive longer and Surf hits Heatran which walls the set otherwise.

Yes, Talonflame was dying a bit too quickly. I'll test Latias, yet I don't know if I should actually use Defog. It messes up the Sticky Web set by Galvantula. And I out speed basically everything at +1 Jolly with Sticky Web, but I'll switch to power.

I would definitely swap out either Landorus-T or Talonflame. It seems to me that they play two similar roles (revenge killer) and Talonflame begs for Defog support that your team can't provide since it messes with Stick Web. If you swap out Landorus-T, you could replace him with a spinner like Excadrill, but the rest of your team doesn't really take too much advantage of Stealth Rock being gone from your side of the field. Therefore, I would swap Talonflame for Latios. Latias's main niche over Latios is her ability to defog multiple times throughout again thanks to her nice bulk, but Latios hits a lot harder, which can help make up for the loss of Talonflame, especially when you aren't trying to Defog anyways. Latios still wrecks Mega Venusaur, which otherwise walls your team and is what I assume Talonflame was hitting hardest, while also being able to Draco Meteor anything that tries to switch into him. Also, move 4 EVs from HP to Def for a leftovers number and move the SpA EVs to Def to provide a little more bulk to it. Since Heatran is acting more like a wall than an attacker, it can use every bit of bulk it can get, and I don't believe that running the extra SpA EVs nets any new KOs, but correct me if I am wrong.
Latios @ Life Orb
Nature | Hasty / Timid
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Earthquake
- Roost / Tailwind
Roost=Longetivity, Tailwind does the same thing as Talonflame. The rest should be self-explanatory, Latios does huge amounts of damage with his stabs, and Earthquake hits steels that would otherwise wall him hard. HP Fire can hit Ferrothorn harder while still hitting steels (albeit for less damage), but then you lose to Heatran, so I would choose Earthquake.
I really like this team, Crawdaunt is a really cool pokemon and I look forward to your response!
If it seems like I would criticizing too much, I just didn't have much to say about the rest of your team. It's very solid, I think that this team has an excellent idea behind it with the right pokemon to help Crawdaunt set up. Overall, this is an excellent team, keep up the good work!

Wow wow wow. I can only bow down to this majestic i like Crawdaunt is a fantastic pokemon, i have even nicknamed Mr. Krabs :D but i have 2 question 4 you.
do not you think it would be better to remove the choice band to talonflame and give her another item? May be a little 'uncomfortable getting stuck on tailwind.
4 my personal opinion
And why you have chosen Waterfall instead of crabhammer? XD

U cannot use celebi like a physical wall. U are forced to run away against every mon with u turn. Celebi is still an awesome special wall.
U have no mega, so...

Venusaur @ venusaurite
Ability: clorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Synthesis
- Leech Seed / Sleep Power
- Gigadrain
- Sludge Bomb, or

1 Knock off: venusaur is an easy spammer of this move
2 HP fire: u are not walled by ferrothorn, and u can punish scizor
3 earthquake: fuck heatran
4 HP ice: against landobros/gliscor/chomp
5 HP rock: talon and megapinsir always switch against him

Megasaur is a very blank pokemon, u can do what u want with him. And is better than celebi (the only reason for using celebri is perish song).
A lot of team cannot do anything against him: u can even fuck talon with sleed powder, overpredicting the switch in.

Imho with venusaur u can reach 1700 easily on the ladder. Crawdaunt is a bitch against stall, banded talonflame can take 3 easy okho against a full offense, u have sticky web (the worst EH for a BP team)and roar against BP.

Nice team.

Andremal I am running 244 HP, 12 Def, and 252 SDef.
I may as well consider Latias or Latios for Tailwind. I may lean towards Latios with Draco and Psyshock. I don't need to worry about steels too much.

Nuanda92 I normally use Tailwind when I get low and I die. As for using Tailwind on a choice set, Talonflame has nothing better to do. He has no other great Physical moves that can be used with a Band.
And I use Waterfall>Crabhammer for the accuracy. It doesn't need the power as LO+Adaptability is obscenely powerful. Saying this is the same thing a saying why not use Aqua Tail>Waterfall on Gyara.

@Dalai-Drama I'll consider it. But Talonflame is potentially being removed.

I'll go test now.

yes but it has a 90% accuracy with a good chance to go and sign also chance to make a crit.
not compare crabhammer with aqua tail...
aqua tail 90 <Waterfall 80
Crabhammer 100 (crit chance)> Waterfall 80
then this is my opinion :) in the end the team has to please you :)

I may consider it. I was told over on Marriland the same.

As for the team itself, thank you all. It has been extremely successful with Latios+MegaSaur. I may consider a more offensive Latios as the Tailwind hasn't helped much.
So, Expert Belt or LO? LO. I am for sure using EQ, as I am tired by Heatran. So Roost, Draco, Psyshock, and EQ.
I am thinking of running a 24 Atk / 232 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive seem logical? Guarantees OHKO with Rocks on Heatran. Or Should I lean to more for T-Tar?

is good, not have great coverage for tyranitar with earthquake, but is the only solution, because if tyranitar switch into Latios the only way to hit him is just earthquake, with surf you do not do considerable damage in the sandstorm, and you can not change pokemon because he have pursuit, is good chose... i like this solution and i like your team, I love MeVenusaur should work fine... congratulations! ^^

I will update the team with Latios and MegaSaur tomorrow.
As for statistics, I believe I broke somewhere in the 1600s. Not sure. The highest recorded is mid 1500s.
