Rising Sun Sweep

So recently I have been getting into UU more as I am tired of the same stuff over and over in OU. This is the team I made several months ago with three major adjustments since.

I already know what you are thinking 4/6 mons weak to ghost but surprisingly in the several months I have used this team it has never been a problem. Anyways I started with a core that has worked quite well as the three of them have stayed throughout the changes I have made and that is the Zangoose, Gardevoir Gallade core. It provides a lot of offensive pressure that doesn't really need too much support to preform well allowing me to experiment with the other three party slots which finally led to me coming here as I would like to hear suggestions about this team. Here is the team breakdown.

Amaterasu (Zangoose) (F) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Toxic Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Facade
- Close Combat
- Night Slash
- Quick Attack
This is my favorite choice for lead as it dosen't really have any problems except against fortress leads and I often take out two or more pokemon with this before it finally goes down. The Toxic Orb is for Toxic Boost and status blocking if I switch it out but normally it stays in until it goes down. Poisoned Toxic Boost STAB Facade's massive 280 base power allows it to crush anything that dosen't resist it and I have Close Combat for Steel types and bulky Umbreon. Night Slash for the few Ghost that I encounter. It also does two other invaluable things in status blocking and if it yet lives switches into ghost type moves.

Rylyn (Gallade) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Psycho Cut
- Ice Punch
- Poison Jab
Ah yes by far the best Gallade set I have used. The Choice Scarf is for out speeding all of the non-Scarfed competition and if I need use a different move I have many options to switch into. Additionally it has a fairly nice special bulk and can take a hit or two. I gave it CC and Psycho Cut for STAB. Ice punch is for coverage against predicted Flying, Grass and Dragon switch ins. And last but most certainly not least is my ace in the hole Poison Jab for punishing Fairy switch ins and revenging killing them. This Gallade has laid many Florges and it's ilk to rest more often then any other member of my team.

Kenmoore (Rotom-Heat) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
This is my mostly all around switch in to problem situations as it is bulky enough to take pretty much all not super effective hits and even can take some of them. Also it is the only Pokemon on this team weak to Stealth Rock which is a flaw that almost all of my OU teams have. It has Volt Switch for Pivots and Overheat for general damage. Pain Split and Leftovers for recovery. Will-O-Wisp is pretty much mandatory on all Rotom and I didn't buck the trend as it can stop most physical sweepers in their tracks. I had considered running T-Wave instead of Pain Split as most people would only expect W-O-W and it would help cripple special sweepers that would other than residual damage be unaffected.

Lelani (Gardevoir) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
This is my Late Game Sweeper as it brings a lot of type coverage to the field and its Scarf can allow to outspeed and put down many pokemon kept in reserve for the endgame. Its move set can hit everything fairly well save for Quagsire and Gastrodon. It has Psychic and Moonblast for STAB. Thunderbolt is on it for coverage against Water and Flying and Shadow Ball threatens Ghost types and other Psychics. I really like this on the team because I am good at lining up endgame maneuvers consisting of me knocking out all the opposing pokemon that resist or can shrug off a particular attack from my Gardevoir then finish them off with that move if it comes to that.

Sgt (Metagross) @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
This pokemon is the wild card on my team as its spot has been changed all three times I have redone this team first it was Mega-Medicham which was removed when that was banned and then a defensive Stealth Rock Swampert and finally this. I often set up early-mid game rocks and bait out spinners and defoggers then either hammer them upon switching in or retreat to another pokemon to begin the mind games. I gave it Meteor Mash over Bullet Punch because really other then Rocks and Forcing Switches to hit them or to switch myself to get a good position it does not linger on the field. It has the bulk to stay in on a great many things but I don't play it like that but it is often come in handy surviving a hard hit and revenging things in a pinch. I really don't care if it gets statused especially if it is sleep as that is what it is there for. Anyways I gave it Zen Headbutt as it's other STAB. Earthquake is there for general damage and hitting things that are weak against it.

Patrick (Starmie) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
Behold the Greninja of UU. Whats not to say about Starmie it is fast and carries a lot of coverage with out being needing to be choiced to help it. I use it to revenge kill and pick off switch ins. The Life Orb for that extra bit of damage. It also has utility as a status absorber with Natural Cure. It's moveset consists of STAB Surf and Psychic. Ice Beam is for Dragons and Grass Types. Thunderbolt is for other Water Types and Flying Pokemon.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated especially with Metagross as I am looking for a more permanent member for that spot preferably with Stealth Rocks but I can make do without. Thank You for your time.

At first glance i see 4 Psychic types... This is gonna be swept by a scarfed Chandalure or other fast mons with Ghost attacks. You do have Zangoose for the Ghost type attacks but you cant predict/rely only on Zangoose for this. Further you have no defensive Pokémon, there all offensively invested somehow. I dont know how you go this team working honestly :P You use 3 Physical attackers and 3 Special attackers, i suggest that you make place for a Special Wall and Defensive Wall.

Rotom-H: I used pretty much the same Rotom-H but was proven wrong on Smogon pretty quickly regarding the moveset and the item. Because you get Leftovers recovery and you have the Will-o-Wisp to do residual damage you arent gonna get alot from Pain Split. There are a few options you have here.

Gardevoir: Im currently using Scarfed Gardevoir and it does work out. I do however have a totally different spread on Gardevoir as well as Focus Blast instead of Tbolt. Because my Rotom has the STAB Tbolt, Gardevoir doesnt need it and with Focus Blast you can take out Steel, Ice, Normal and Rock types. This gives way more coverage instead of Tbolt.

Metagross: If you want a hard hitting Stealth Rocker you can use something like Mega Aggron, Donphan, Rhyperior or Swampert. This gives you a Defensive wall who can hit hard because there high Atk stats. Mega Aggron is a beast with his massive Defense but watch out for the special attacks. Donphan has Ice Shard to give you more priority moves and can learn Rapid Spin to spin the rocks away while you get your own rocks up. Rhyperior has great health, attack, defense and Solid Rock making super effective moves less effective and therefore able to take hits from fast sweepers. Swampert is another good Stealth Rocker, it has great Atk and with Water Ground typing it is annoying to deal with.
Starmie: Starmie is a fast LO sweeper but you already have a Psychic type and if you decide to take Swampert you can switch Starmie out for something like an offensive Shaymin. Shaymin is amazing with 100 base stats overall (like many legendaries) and can give you the same results as Starmie.

Sets:
Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch

This set is offensivly and even though im not sure about the Tbolt but its good coverage. With only Volt Switch as offensive Electric move on Rotom i think you arent using him to the full extend. Therefore the Tbolt. The speed on Rotom is amazing because he has 86 base speed so able to outspeed things like Nidoking (by only 1 speed lol). Pain Split is for the recovery if you are low from either rocks or just damage. Together with the Leftovers it can sometimes stall out pretty well against walls.

Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Trick

With this set you basically switch in and Trick the item of hopefully a wall to give them Scarf or Specs and crippling them to using only 1 move. But be careful as you dont want to get swept by a Pokémon you Tricked. This set is all about prediction and if dont correctly you can destroy a wall. They can only use Wish once or all the time but they cant hit you. This give you the adventage and you have to play around that. I made it a special wall because you lack a special wall but you can also use the EV and Nature from the first set to deal more damage and making it a offensive set.
Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 8 Spd / 252 SAtk / 248 HP
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

This is the set i use. This enables you to deal massive damage with 383 SAtk. The 248 HP is for Stealth Rock damage and to take a hit from a super effective move. It can take a hit from Special Walls and a Physical attack it can tank too. The 8 Spd makes sure to outspeed Nidoking (85 Base speed, Timid nature and 252 Spd investment) and with Psyshock you can OH-KO that thing. I suggest using Psyshock over Psychic as Gardevoir gets walled by this like Florges and other special walls. Therefore the Psyshock can deal good damage as the damage reduction is based of there Defense instead of there Special Defense.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Impish/Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Waterfall/Scald
- Toxic/Roar

This set for Swampert gives you a Stealth Rocker and had great defensive and offensive stats. Impish Nature if you go for Waterfall a physical STAB move and youre able to flinch slower opponents. Relaxed if you chose Scald for the potential burn on the physical attackers. Earthquake for the Ground coverage and Toxic for the residual damage or Roar to get extra Stealth Rock damage as well as dragging out another opponent and with Roar you can make sure that nobody sets up on Swampert.
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Psychic / Air Slash
- Rest / Synthesis

This set does alot of damage and gives you the coverage against things as Mega Blastoise, Quagsire, Swampert and other Ground types. Earth Power gives you extra coverage for Fire types as well as Poison, Rock and Steel types. Psychic can help you out but i suggest Air Slash in your team due to the high amount of Psychic types already. Rest/Synthesis for the recovery after taking LO recoil/damage. Rest with Natural Cure is a fun combo but you have to switch in order for it to work. Synthesis only restores half but you can stay in.
These changes doesnt make it the best team ofc but i dont want to touch your core for now but i do think you might have to switch something out for a special wall. Or use Rotom for it

Anyway try some things out and see how it works out for you, Good luck on the team building and on future battles ^^

Yeah I already tried Swampert and I liked it but I forgot Shaymin was UU ima try it out thanks for the idea.:D

Actually offensive spiker roserade might work. LO with leaf storm sludge bomb sleep powder and spikes. It can use sludge bomb as a reliable STAB, spikes for obvious reasons, leaf storm for a STAB nuke, and sleep powder to annoy counters as well as help with spikes. Also, it makes a good check to crocune; not because it can KO it, but it can set up spikes and force cune out (creds to kokoloko)

Hope I helped!!

Instead of Shaymin

Psyshock is better on Starmie then Psychic, it will generally out damage the things you would use it on it, the majority of threats in the tier that have better physical bulk are weak to one of the other three moves.

The Roserade suggestion is really good but if not atleast change Ice beam for Grass Knot on Starmie purely for Gastrodon. Grass and the rare Dragons are well covered by the rest of the team. Where as Gastrodon can get in pretty easily on your current Starmie, Rotom and Gardevoir, the rest of your members are not close to safe switch ins between the scald burn chance and Zangoose's terrible bulk.
