Here's a question I would like answered please:
I was breeding a MALE Swineub with the Freeze-Dry Egg Move with my Female Swinube which also had a few egg Moves, why did the offspring NOT have Freeze-Dry?

did the offspring by chance come out with 4 egg moves?

maybe move freeze-dry around in the move order if that's the case?

It has: Take Down/Icicle Crash/Icicle Crush/Stealth Rocks....crap. Just saw that. 4 Egg Moves. Doesn't Matter need a diferent Nature anyway, since I want to run with ST/Icicle Crash/Freeze-Dry/Earthquake requires a Naughty Nature for best results not Adamant.

I have had this issue with my swinubs in the past as they can inherit Ancient Power, Ice Shard, Odor Sleuth , Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear and SR along with freeze dry one wrong move deleting by that infernal daycare woman and things go south fast. So I level my stuff to around 26-28 so thats less likly

Males pass on egg moves first, females second. So if you pass 4 moves from your female, it will overwrite the moves passed by the male. You need to delete one of the moves passed by the female.

i'm guessing there's a priority when determining which egg moves pass, but i wouldn't really want to guess what it is. the simplest fix would probably be going to the move deleter guy, so there's only 4 egg moves among your parents

EDIT: greninja'd

that infernal daycare woman
*shakesfist* >:(

i often have to level up a lot to avoid that too. or just keep breeding until i reparent. things definitely get out of hand if i'm not careful. so happy we can relearn egg moves this gen if we mess up too bad though.

So what's the best way to ensure it passes down? Seems to me (personally at this point I'm biased as I am ticked) like Nintendo wanted to have a laugh at our breeding efforts at times.

What are ESV TSV and TID/SID? Just so I can understands you people. Also does anyone have q defog Latios with good ivs?
TID and SID are trainer ID and secret ID

your trainer ID is in your game next to your character's name. the secret ID is only visible if someone uses a third party device. that value is used for determining if something is shiny. anything that hatches or is caught by a shiny ID that matches, it'll be shiny.

ESV and TSV are shiny values for gen VI, but i'm not exactly sure how (or if) they are different from SID. someone else i'm sure can shed some light on that.
it may have some relation to gen V, idk. i was around in gen IV when all this rng manipulation came out originally, and we used TID/SID. i don't see the terms mentioned too often in relation to gen VI though.

The TID is Trainer ID, while SID is secret ID. SID is a hidden value which can only be found through a 3rd party device in Gen 6 (You could calculate it in. Gen 3 and 4 if you had a few shinies). Your tid and your Sid determine what pokemon are shiny. ESV is egg shiny value and is calculated from the egg's pid. TSV is trainer shiny value and is calculated from tid and Sid, if ESV=TSV, then a Pokemon will hatch shiny

that makes sense why i never had to use ESV or TSV before lol. we would use poketch to manipulate the ESV to match our own TSV in gen IV to hatch shinies

pid is personality value. it's basically everything that determines everything about a pokemon.

its own shiny value, spinda's pattern, whether it's male, female, IVs, nature, ability, whether it likes sour berries, everything.

Well remove all Egg Moves save Icicle Spear from the female and you hatch one with: Freeze-Dry/Iccile Crash/Stealth Rocks/Icicle Spear..... Logic it is rather unusual when it comes to breeding at times.

What's Pid?lol
It's an unsigned 32 bit integer that is created when a Pokemon is first encountered. It determines Gender, Ability, and Shinyness of a Pokemon along with a few other things like Spindas spots and wurmple's evolution. It also used to determine nature

Wait is the ESV rng'd?
TSV is a static value and ESV is calculated for each individual egg.

when people ask someone to hatch an egg that matches their shiny value, the ESV generated for that particular egg matches that of someone else's TSV

in gen IV and V, it was possible to RNG maniuplate the ESV to match your own TSV, but in gen VI, you just hatch, check ESV, and find someone with the matching TSV

does that help?

Hey guys! I'm looking for a few things to build a VGC team:

Modest ♀Horsea w/ Swift Swim in a Dive ball
Sassy ♀Foongus w/ Regenerator in a Premier ball
Sassy ♀Gothita w/ Shadow Tag in a Luxury ball

IVs are not important, but everything listed is nonnegotiable. CMT, poor IVs mean spit backs.

Still need that last one. Dream Ball would work too.

Can anyone think of a good Mamoswine nickname? Leave a message on my profile with a good nickname and if I pick yours, I'll send an imperfect 5 IV HA shiny Swirlix your way :]

Hirshey won. He'll be getting his prize later :]
