I guess that's true, but in the time you're searching around for someone with a 0 IV Magikarp, you could be checking in the Battle Institute, or just breeding the old fashioned way ;)

Hrm, maybe you're right. I started out time travel breeding because the best I had were 2IV wobbuffets, but now that I have a 3 would it be faster to just go straight breeding?
Time Machine is only really useful for HP and 6IVs, and even then it's not guaranteed to going to get a correct inheritance spread so you would need to repeat the process over and over. For a 5IV, just breed normally all the way.

Why not teach a trace poke toxic?
If a pokemon gets STAB from a move, how much does that raise the base power of the move? For instance, if a move's BP is normally 70, and stab adds 30 (as an example), then it would make the BP 100. Also, to simplify things, let's say if the move is super effective that increases the BP by an additional amount. How much is that amount?
When breeding for HP is it better to use a 4-5IV female or any random IV female?
If you're breeding for HP spreads, it's always better to use parents as close to your target IV spread as possible.
I already have a Bold HP Ice Zapdos with Heat Wave and Defog. ;) I need to know how I can use Calm Articuno.
So in other words crappy IV mother then the first female baby with desired ability and just keep repeating? Till you get the spread desired? Or

If I'm aiming for select HP spreads, I usually will RNG parents with proper IVs in Gen 4/5 to use as breeding fodder in Gen 6; cuts off a lot of time that way. If that's not doable, then yeah you'll just have to keep chain breeding and swapping out parents till you get as close as possible to your ideal IV's, abilities, etc.

On another note, ball suggestions for a Shiny Ralts? I have a shiny 31/x/31/31/31/31 Modest Cute Charm spread sitting in my HG file that needs something good for it to be used on.
