Kinda Sun, Kinda Staller Team

My Team!
vivillon-marine.gif

Vivillion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
Nature: Modest
EV: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
- Sleep Powder
- Bug Buzz

This little guy with compound eyes is a beast! Hurricane and Sleep Powder almost always a hit. The plan with him is to get a sleep powder off do a couple of quiver dance’s kill that pokemon, sleep powder the next one, get one or two more quiver dances in and repeat. I just need to find a good time to switch him in.
sableye.gif

Sableye @ Heat Rock
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Calm
EVs:252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
- Sunny Day
- Mean Look
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover

Sableye is one of my possible leads. His job is to mean look there lead and set up a sunny day and maybe get a Will-O-Wisp in. With mean look up this allows me to switch in the appropriate pokemon. I can switch in Trevenant and kill them slowly with curse and substitute or bring in a type advantage pokemon or bring in my vivillion and allow it to set up and then sweep. His job is to essentially set up the first kill.

Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 44 Atk / 252 HP / 208 SDef
- Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute
- Curse
- Wood Hammer/Horn Leech

This guy is my favourite pokemon. He just looks so freakin’ cool. His job is a kind of tank staller. I normally set up a substitute, Will-O-Wisp their pokemon and if they are trapped by Mean Look set up a curse. Wood Hammer is there in case I get taunted or if they send out a pesky Rotom Wash but there is recoil and Horn Leech would up my survivability, I would have to up my attack EV’s to 96 to account for the power loss so I’m undecided on that one. Harvest makes me so hard to kill especially with the sun out and allows me to spam curse, substitute and wood hammer but again this is so much health lost so would horn leech be better? He can also rapid spin block.
charizard_megay_xy-gif.12951

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Flamethrower
- Solarbeam
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse

This guy is another sun setter with immense power. He can spam Solarbeam in the Sun, Flamethrower over Fire Blast because I have appalling luck with accuracy and it's power is increased by the sun, Airslash and Dragon Pulse are for coverage. If the Sun is up I don’t need to mega evolve him straight away because of his ability solar power which up’s my attack by 1.5X and again furthers my belief that I can use flamethrower over fire blast.
Heliolisk.gif

Heliolisk @ Choice Specs
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- HP Ice
- Volt Switch

Heliolisk is a great checker send him in and then Volt Switch to safety. Solar Power is immensely powerful giving this guy insane SAtk. Thunderbolt over Thunder because there is no need for the extra power with Choice Specs and the sun out due to the 1.5X SAtk increase due to solarpower. HP Ice and Surf are there for coverage.
232.gif

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spe / 252 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- ?

Donphan is my Rapid spinner and Stealth rock setter. So he is another possible lead. Rapid Spin is essential to avoid unnecessary damage on my pokemon, especially Charizard, earthquake for damage and in case I get taunted. My last move I was thinking sunny day or toxic. I can’t decide :(
This guy was chosen over excadrill due to having 2X weakness to fire already and over starmie because of the amount of SAtk sweepers I have.

My Worries

My worries are that my team has 3X weaknesses to Ice, 3X SAtk sweepers and no Atk sweepers .

Also my sableye mean eye set seems kinda gimmicky and I wondered if replacing him with a ninetails would be better? But then curse on trevenant seems kinda pointless because their pokemon can just switch out.
038.gif

Ninetails (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Calm Nature
252 HP/252 SDef/4 Spd
- Overheat
- Roar
- Solarbeam
- Will-o-Wisp/Toxic

This Ninetails build is so bulky, he tanks hydro pumps under the sun for like 25% of his HP. This deceives a lot of water pokes that attack expecting a 0HKO and in return die to a solarbeam. Overheat is a very strong STAB move that makes me lose SAtk, but since Ninetails keeps on the switch, this won't affect him much. Will-o-wisp is a better choice, to cripple physical sweepers.

Donphan is also outclassed by the likes of excadrill and starimie IMO but if I were to switch him for excadrill my fire weaknesses would increase to 3X so I'm not prepared to do that but starmie dosen't seem too bad apart from it would add another special attacker.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Def / 12 SAtk / 224 Spe
- Scald
- Psychic / Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

This is a bulky starmie set with recover to ensure longevity for constant spamming of rapid spin. Starmie has natural cure which also allows it to switch in on status spammers.

Please give suggestions to improve!
Thanks :D

On thing I notice immediately is that Vivillon's really out-of-place here. Still on Vivillon, Hurricane has boosted accuracy with Co
mpound Eyes, but it's accuracy is 50% when used during Sun (that's not factoring in Compound Eyes, but that won't help much). Over it, I recommend Chlorophyll Venusaur:

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP or Atk
Modest Nature / Mild Nature
- Solar Beam / Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Earthquake
- Growth / Sleep Powder / Synthesis

This fills the same role as Vivillon, but better. You still have an option for a set-up sweeper with Growth, but you can also choose to keep Vivillon's Sleeping role with Sleep Powder. Solar Beam hits hard in Sun. HP Fire gets a Sun boost, or EQ can provide coverage of Heatran.

As for some of your sets, Air Slash and Dragon Pulse are useless on Char Y, so I suggest replacing them with Focus Blast and Roost for better coverage and some recovery. For Donphan, that last slot can be filled with Ice Shard or Knock Off, depending on the coverage you want.

Hope this helped :)

In my heart I knew vivillion was out of place :( I just like that little guy. Venasaur I can see is the better option so I will replace vivillion with him. Sleep powder on vivillion was only to allow him to sweep so I will probably go growth over sleep powder.
I agree with your opinion on charizard and will change that.
What do you think of my mean look curse trap is it to gimmicky? Would a ninetails be better? Or is it fine?
And is donphan the best choice for my rapid spinner?

A few things:

1. You have a lot of rock weaknesses on your team. It is imperative to change the HP on all of your team to an odd number. So for example, moving the "4" on Vivillon and Charizard's HP into defense instead. This will give you one more switch, rather than being dead if someone lays rocks and then ohko's your Donphan (not entirely unlikely)
2. Vivillon doesn't suit your team at all, like the previous poster said.
3. Stall + sun doesn't work anymore. Since Sun is not permanent, your team needs to be FAR more offensive. Might I suggest getting rid of Donphan for a more offensive spinner or defogger such as Excadrill or Latios?
4. Don't use Air Slash on Charizard. Fire Blast in sun literally outdamages it on everything except Heatran (which takes jack shit from Air Slash anyway) and some water types (which is what Solar Beam is for). Try Earthquake (to hit Heatran) or Focus Blast (doesn't ohko Heatran, but gives you something to hit TTar with).

Sableye w/ Mean Look is a bit gimmicky, but I see it working. Try testing Sableye and Ninetales, and see which one you like better. As for a Spinner, Excadrill outclasses Donphan, but would add another Fire weakness. Starmie looks like the best choice, but it is a Special attacker. Once again, my recommendation is to test them both. However, replacing it with a Defogger like Lati@s is an option as well.

The stall + sun I think suits my trevenant allows him to harvest for about 5 turns (Heat rock sableye) which is enough for the curse mean look trap. The rest of my team are powerhouses excluding donphan and sableye which don't need the sun.
I agree with the charizard advice and vivillion will be replaced by venasaur.

This is what I use for Offensive Defog Latios:

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Thunderbolt
- Defog

Pretty self-explanatory. HP Fire hits Scizor/Ferro, but Tbolt is another option to hit bulky Waters. If you wanted something more Defensive, that's best left to Latias/Mandi/Zapdos/Skarm.

One last thing does anyone have an opinion on my trevenant set? Should I replace wood hammer with horn leech to up survivability because I already lose health from curse and substitute or do I want to replace something with leech seed because they can't switch out?
