My Team!
Vivillion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
Nature: Modest
EV: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
- Sleep Powder
- Bug Buzz
This little guy with compound eyes is a beast! Hurricane and Sleep Powder almost always a hit. The plan with him is to get a sleep powder off do a couple of quiver dance’s kill that pokemon, sleep powder the next one, get one or two more quiver dances in and repeat. I just need to find a good time to switch him in.
Sableye @ Heat Rock
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Calm
EVs:252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
- Sunny Day
- Mean Look
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
Sableye is one of my possible leads. His job is to mean look there lead and set up a sunny day and maybe get a Will-O-Wisp in. With mean look up this allows me to switch in the appropriate pokemon. I can switch in Trevenant and kill them slowly with curse and substitute or bring in a type advantage pokemon or bring in my vivillion and allow it to set up and then sweep. His job is to essentially set up the first kill.
Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 44 Atk / 252 HP / 208 SDef
- Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute
- Curse
- Wood Hammer/Horn Leech
This guy is my favourite pokemon. He just looks so freakin’ cool. His job is a kind of tank staller. I normally set up a substitute, Will-O-Wisp their pokemon and if they are trapped by Mean Look set up a curse. Wood Hammer is there in case I get taunted or if they send out a pesky Rotom Wash but there is recoil and Horn Leech would up my survivability, I would have to up my attack EV’s to 96 to account for the power loss so I’m undecided on that one. Harvest makes me so hard to kill especially with the sun out and allows me to spam curse, substitute and wood hammer but again this is so much health lost so would horn leech be better? He can also rapid spin block.
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Flamethrower
- Solarbeam
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
This guy is another sun setter with immense power. He can spam Solarbeam in the Sun, Flamethrower over Fire Blast because I have appalling luck with accuracy and it's power is increased by the sun, Airslash and Dragon Pulse are for coverage. If the Sun is up I don’t need to mega evolve him straight away because of his ability solar power which up’s my attack by 1.5X and again furthers my belief that I can use flamethrower over fire blast.
Heliolisk @ Choice Specs
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- HP Ice
- Volt Switch
Heliolisk is a great checker send him in and then Volt Switch to safety. Solar Power is immensely powerful giving this guy insane SAtk. Thunderbolt over Thunder because there is no need for the extra power with Choice Specs and the sun out due to the 1.5X SAtk increase due to solarpower. HP Ice and Surf are there for coverage.
Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spe / 252 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- ?
Donphan is my Rapid spinner and Stealth rock setter. So he is another possible lead. Rapid Spin is essential to avoid unnecessary damage on my pokemon, especially Charizard, earthquake for damage and in case I get taunted. My last move I was thinking sunny day or toxic. I can’t decide :(
This guy was chosen over excadrill due to having 2X weakness to fire already and over starmie because of the amount of SAtk sweepers I have.
My Worries
My worries are that my team has 3X weaknesses to Ice, 3X SAtk sweepers and no Atk sweepers .
Also my sableye mean eye set seems kinda gimmicky and I wondered if replacing him with a ninetails would be better? But then curse on trevenant seems kinda pointless because their pokemon can just switch out.
Ninetails (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Calm Nature
252 HP/252 SDef/4 Spd
- Overheat
- Roar
- Solarbeam
- Will-o-Wisp/Toxic
This Ninetails build is so bulky, he tanks hydro pumps under the sun for like 25% of his HP. This deceives a lot of water pokes that attack expecting a 0HKO and in return die to a solarbeam. Overheat is a very strong STAB move that makes me lose SAtk, but since Ninetails keeps on the switch, this won't affect him much. Will-o-wisp is a better choice, to cripple physical sweepers.
Donphan is also outclassed by the likes of excadrill and starimie IMO but if I were to switch him for excadrill my fire weaknesses would increase to 3X so I'm not prepared to do that but starmie dosen't seem too bad apart from it would add another special attacker.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Def / 12 SAtk / 224 Spe
- Scald
- Psychic / Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
This is a bulky starmie set with recover to ensure longevity for constant spamming of rapid spin. Starmie has natural cure which also allows it to switch in on status spammers.
Please give suggestions to improve!
Thanks :D
