HiiiPower: [OU] Offensive Team of Generation VI

Welcome all. I would like to present you with my team HiiiPower. The team features a hit and run strategy, backed by a solid pair of hazard removers. A trapper and two powerhouses round the team out to begin punching holes in the opponent’s team, easing the prediction aspect and amount of counters for the hit and run core. This team has taken me a while to perfect but I could not be happier with how they are doing. This is my third RMT entry of the 6th generation alone, and by far the most successful ladder team. Breloom (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb


Breloom is for the most part, my dedicated lead. This set is just so good in the current metagame. I’ve actually been using this exact set since Gen V, except back then I used Low Sweep. Rock Tomb provides excellent coverage against flying and fire types, especially for the Mandibuzz switch in thinking Spore. Spore is a great tool once the opponent’s grass types are gone. Bullet Seed is a powerful STAB that gets past opposing Focus Sash users like Mamoswine and Smeargle, as well as Sturdy Pokemon. Mach punch is STAB priority and is vital in hitting Bisharp, M-Tyranitar, M-Gyarados, Scarf Excadrill, Greninja, Kyurem, Terrakion etc. etc. Max speed Jolly Breloom is used to outspeed threats like Dragonite and Gyarados.









Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin


Excadrill is excellent at setting Stealth Rocks because it finds so many times to switch in during the match thanks to its superior typing. It is also one half of the hazard removal pair. Mold breaker EQ is such a cool perk. Excadrill’s EQ is so helpful for hitting Aegislash, Rotom-W, Heatran, slower M-Charizard, Bisharp, M-Mawile, Tyranitar, Gengar and the Lati twins. Iron Head is chosen over Rock Slide to hit Fairies, especially Sylveon and Florges who otherwise can wall a lot of this team. Air Balloon extends the list of immunities and potential switch in opportunities to either get rid of Hazards or to set them up. Adamant is used over Jolly for the extra power. Although Jolly allows Excadrill to outspeed max speed Rotom, most Rotom only run max speed if they’re holding a Scarf, which outspeeds the mole regardless. The extra power with Adamant is very appreciated, as I have tested both Jolly and Adamant, however it really is personal preference.









Mandibuzz (F) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpDef
Bold Nature
- Foul Play
- Defog
- Knock Off
- Roost


Mandibuzz is the second half of the hazard removal pair. This vulture possesses incredible bulk allowing her to take powerful physical hits and even some les powerful special hits. The Dark typing is really a blessing this generation, being one of only two types to resist/be immune to Ghost moves next to the less useful Normal types. Mandibuzz does three incredible things for this team. First, she removes hazards when Excadrill cannot. Second, she stops Physical setup sweepers, which are the most common atm, dead in their tracks thanks to tremendous bulk and Foul Play. Lastly, Mandibuzz stops the spread of status and stall teams with Taunt. Overcoat is also a terrific ability to absorb Spore and Sleep Powder, especially if Breloom dies early on. Roost is to keep the bird alive and well throughout the match. A bold nature with max HP and Defense is used to tank those physical attacks from setup sweepers such as DD Dragonite and Mega Pinsir. Excadrill and Mandibuzz have great defensive synergy with Excadrill absorbing Rock, Electric and Ice moves aimed at Mandibuzz. Mandibuzz can take Ground attacks aimed at Excadrill and also provides a safe switch away from opposing sweepers such as Mega Charizard X who go for the setup move on the switch. Mandibuzz also counters Aegislash lacking the rarely used Head Smash, who otherwise can just spam Shadows Balls on the rest of the team. Rocky Helmet punishes physical attackers and with reliable recovery in Roost and an immunity from weather, Leftovers wasn't making as big of an impact as Rocky Helmet. It puts a lot of guys within OHKO range for a CB Extremespeed from Dragonite, for example.

EDIT: Knock off put before Taunt because of how easy it is to force switches on physical attackers. The extreme bulk and Rocky Helmet combo has been terrific at forcing switches, and not many pokes want to switch in if it means losing their item.









Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SpAtk
IVs: 0 Speed
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sacred Sword
- King’s Shield
- Shadow Sneak/Pursuit


The infamous tank set. His bulk while in Shield from and Max HP is just phenomenal. He finds so many times to switch in thanks to his unique typing, which is one of the best in the game. Aegislash can then proceed to spam Shadow Ball when appropriate hitting a majority of the metagame for at least a 2HKO. Having a mixed attacker on an offensive team is major, and having mixed offensive coverage in Ghost/Fighting typing cannot be understated. I have found Sacred Sword to be much more useful over Iron Head, especially with Excadrill possessing the move with greater attack and ability to handle Fairies. Sacred Sword hits the Dark and Normal Types that resist/are immune to Shadow Ball, such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, Chansey/Blissey. Greninja, and Diggersby. Kings Shield to scout, weakens enemy attacks, and most importantly switches Aegislash from Blade to Shield mode after attacking. The last slot honestly comes down to personal preference, as I have used both and both have had their uses and down sides. Shadow Sneak gives this team additional priority, which is also useful, especially on a Pokemon as slow as Aegislash. He can clean up weakened teams without having to take a hit himself. On the contrary, Pursuit is great for trapping threats such as the Lati twins (especially Scarf Latios that can cause this team real problems), Gothitelle, Slowbro, Espeon, Alakazam, Gengar and Starmie. Leftovers gives Aegislash welcomed health restoration and is a great combo alongside King’s Shield.









Dragonite (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Extremespeed


Dragonite is a great partner for just about every member of this team, especially Aegislash. The Choice Band set is hard hitting and is an excellent late game cleaner. CB Outrage is the main STAB and can 2HKO just about anything that isn’t a Fairy or Steel type. Earthquake is to hit many of those Steel’s including Heatran, Aegislash, Excadrill, Magnezone, M-Mawile. EQ also does a considerable amount of damage to things like Azumarill and Sylveon when predicted correctly thanks to the Band who would otherwise easily switch in and wall this set. Fire Punch gives this set extra coverage to hurt things like Ferrothorn, Skarmory and Scizor. Extremespeed and CB is a match made in heaven. Dragonite, as previously stated, can clean up a weakened team late game. The +2 Priority is great to kill Talonflame and M-Pinsir. Leading with Dragonite can also be quite useful. For example, Choice Band ES provides a decent answer to lead Deoxys-S who has his way with Breloom, scoring a 2HKO while only allowing Deoxy’s to get up Stealth Rocks. The combo of CB Dragonite and Max SpAtk Aegislash is remarkable for punching holes in the enemy’s team. A sweeper can than come in once his counters are gone or severely weakened, and have fun.









Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze (Tough Claws)
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake/Thunder Punch/Roost


The last member of the team is both my sweeper and Mega evolution. Mega Charizard X is one of, if not the best and most feared sweepers in the entire tier. This is due to a nice 130 base attack, powerful STAB moves in Flare Blitz and Outrage, Tough Claws to boost these attacks to godly levels, Dragon Dance, immunity to burn and reliable health recovery in Roost. Four of the six members of this team are physical attackers so I needed someone who could comfortably switch into predicted Will-o-Wisps. This immunity allows Charizard many free switch-ins to come in and setup, however I usually wait until Dragonite has already weakened or taken out the two’s counters. Earthquake for coverage against threats like Heatran, while also avoiding the possibility of an attack drop from KS Aegislash. Dragonite and MCharizard X together on the same team definitely requires a good amount of team support, but the payoff is huge if you can pull it off. With two different hazard removers, Stealth Rocks are not often seen on the field when played correctly. Not many teams have enough walling potential to stop these two behemoths. Knowing which one to bring out first is all based on the opponent’s team, and who is going to be more useful late game to clean up the opponent’s team.

EDIT: Thunder Punch is an option to handle Azumarill, as the rest of the team is better suited to handle Heatran as compared to Azumarill who can be very problematic. Roost is always a good option as well. Thunder Punch is slashed secondary because I myself still need to test it out, but it seems very logical and I'd like to thanks Meloettaa! and xJownage for recommending KlefkiHolder's set.

I'm not quite sure why you're running Outrage with roost on Char X. Dragon claw / roost is the better option and if you're having trouble with quagsire, you can just go knock off or toxic over taunt on mandibuzz.

teams pretty solid otherwise. keep it up.
 
would also recommend coverage over roost on charX...
solid team...dual hazard removers is redundant but i understand you don't want hazards.

all i can really say is the subtoxic aegi set would work better than the one your using:

very good set, can toxic stall as well as gliscor as well as retaining shadow ball nuke. Sub+KS allows you to stall ridiculously well allowing you a large total of turns from full health.
 
Thanks guys I appreciate the nice words and suggestions. Changed the Charizard set to include more coverage in EQ. Actually had Dragon Claw on my PS team, couldn't tell you why I wrote Outrage either haha. The Aegislash I've been running has actually been the MVP of just about every match in terms of always pulling his weight to support others. Having that Sacred Sword coverage has been very important, especially when Breloom is gone early. I plan on testing the Sub/Toxic set in the near future, however.

Your team already destroys Heatran, Breloom can spore and start mach punching, Excadrill will well... eq. Aegi can take lava plume and sacred. you can see right?
But Azu can wreck alot of stuff.
It's also one of the most annoying sweep stoppers but anyway it's your decision

-Slashed Thunder Punch as the secondary option over Roost. Couldn't put it first yet bc i'd like to at least test it out first, although it seems to be a very wise move.

-Changed Knock Off as the main move over Taunt, due to the amount of switches Rocky Helmet causes.
 
Thunder punch really only makes you counter azumarill instead of heatran, which is better for your team imo. You really have ways to counter tran already, all sets included...while BD azu forces out dragonite, often before rocks have been cleared, forcing it to lose its multiscale which is its main niche.

Defog mandi has SUCH bad 4MSS

yeah XD knock off/ foul play when it needs both then defog,roost and toxic

I know I agree it really does. Taunt has been very useful for stall, but Knock Off has just been more game changing, especially for destroying Chansey which is always fun
