Megas For All (Read the whole 1st post and check current slate)

I'm losing my faith in humanity is Noctowl doesn't end up Psychic/Flying, there's literally no reason for it no to be going by Pokedex entries and the anime. Flavorwise, since Noctowl has a connection with time (Hoothoot has clock hands as eyebrows, hoots at the same time every hour, etc., and Noctowl is active at specific hours of the day), I was thinking some sort of ability with a connection to priority. Noctowl sucks enough that I don't think Gale Wings or an equivalent (Quick-witted, Psychic Gale Wings, anyone?) wouldn't be broken on it, and flavorwise it would work because of the time thing.
Actually, on second thought, I really like Quick-Witted, largely because it won't have to compete with Talonflame (and Articuno... Articuno got Gale Wings right? IDR). Priority Calm Mind sounds nice, and would give it something to distinguish it from the likes of Xatu. Psychic Gale Wings Psychic/Flying Noctowl, let's go!

I agree with the Psychic/Flying thing. Noctowl actually learns more psychic typed attacks by level up than it does normal attacks by level up.

However, I can only say my idea has a special version of Huge/Pure Power. Noctowl actually have decent coverage with Psychic, Fire, Flying, and Ghost. It can't hit Tyranitar well, but it does hit other stuff well. It can also be bulkier and use Roost and Defog while still having a good fighting skill.

Sudowoodo is very interesting because even though it is pure rock, it is the only one to have recoiless wood hammer. It is also supposed to be pretending that it is a tree. The last part and the fact that it is a petrified tree mean it should not be grass type so what should we do. we should give it an ability I like to call petrified(magic guard + turns grass into rock with a 1.3x boost). It should remain a physical tank.
 
Noctowl could use Magic Guard and there'D no other option but Psychic/Flying. Come on, we already toss Dark on everything.

Furrett us known for being able to squeezethrough narrow spaces due to its shape. Infiltrator is perfect flavour-wise and allows it to ignore screens and Substitute.

Sudowoodo, Protean? Or maybe Rock Head, turn it into Rock/Grass, and give it Head Smash. I dunno it has such bad stats.

Maybe give it Adaptability as an ability to make up for it's iffy stats. Sudowoodo adapts itself to be a tree after all so it makes sense.

Nah, keep Adaptability for Sudowoodo, I actually like the suggestion for special Huge Power clone on Noctowl.
 
Oh and Politoed could get Boomburst just because. It's known for its loud, echoing cry and makes as much sense as Chatot.

I'm thinking a "-ate" Ability because he can set up rain before going Mega. Balanced out by poor defense/speed.
 
Politoed's mega should be more of the same. No typing/ability changes, just buffed stats imo.

Unless you wanna make up a gimmicky ability where Rain lasts for 8 turns instead of 5, and give the same to Ninetales or something, but idk.
 
Noctowl should be Flying Dark because it hunts it is nocturnal.
Politoad should be Water Psychic with the same ability just buffed stats.

For those who are arguing that we used Dark to much and we should use
Psychic there are more Psychic than Dark.

But there have been a lot more submissions that are Dark. At least 1 in 4 are Dark now and it's getting ridiculous.

It's nocturnal therefore Dark type, that's it?

The argument against Dark-type isn't that there are many Dark types, it's that people have submitted A LOT of dark-type megas. But Dark on Noctowl makes sense and I like it, but Psychic also makes sense for the same reasons (lol i know it sounds weird but its true).
 
Also, Dark type isn't literal darkness, I.e absence of light. It's more about evil, mean and/or dirty fighting. Which fits things like Houndoom and Scrafty.

Noctowl on the other hand is wise and learns a ton of Psychic moves so Psychic is a fitting type. That could also serve as an explanation for why it's sight is soo good in the dark, it tracks prey with its Psychic powers.
 
Whoever said Adaptability Sudowoodo, I approve. Rock-STAB at 2x has the potential to be monstrous. Plus, I can already imagine the Pokedex entries: "Mega Sudowoodo mimicked trees for so long that it evolved into one itself. It spends its time carefully rearranging its leaves to blend into its surroundings."

Protean is good too. It has a similar meaning, "having a varied nature or ability to assume different forms" or "displaying great diversity or variety" and makes Sudowoodo much more versatile.

On the other hand, if you give it Adaptability and Head Smash...

I had an idea for justifying a Rock/Grass Sudowoodo. But it isn't about it become a real tree. Rocks gather moss on top of it. Sudowoodo will gather moss too when it Mega Evolves and thus it becomes as much of a reason to be a Grass type as Paras(ect). Maybe it's become majestic like Ampharos but with moss instead of wool.

On the other hand, I REALLY want to give it an ability which hurts it more by water (but maybe gives it immunity to another type. Sort of a reverse Dry Skin).

It's a Rock.

Moss grows on rocks.

Also it can make a really good tree impression.

I mean hey, Mega Pinsir pulled Flying out if its ass so anything is possible. Pure Rock terrible.
 
I was honestly shocked, back to the times of gen II, when I realized Noctowl wasn't Psychic and Sudowood wasn't Grass. So yes, I would definitely love to see them both take their proper typing :)
