XY OU My First XY OU Team RMT

Hi, I'm Puzzle King and this is my first competitive XY OU team. It's a hyper-offence team and does have its fair share of flaws. It would be nice if you could leave suggestions and ideas on how to improve it. Thanks.

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Punch

Infernape is my most common lead and a great coverage physical sweeper. It is great for countering some of the most common leads in the game (i.e. Ferrothorn, Forretress). I have Close Combat and Fire Punch for STAB and Mach Punch for priority. Thunder Punch is counter pokemon like Azumarill before they can set up.

Crawdaunt @ Focus Sash
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off
- Dragon Dance

Crawdaunt is one of my main sweepers. It has an amazing ability in Adaptability and has one of the most powerful knock offs in the game. It truly becomes one of the most dangerous physical pokemon in the game after one dragon dance. However, it is very frail and can easily be OHKO'd by a lot of things, which is why I gave it the focus sash.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 HP
Mild Nature
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Sludge Bomb
- Leech Seed

Mega Venusaur is a tank. It has great defensive and special bulk, loses two of its main weaknesses and has decent special attack to utilise. Leech Seed and Giga Drain are great health recovery and Sludge Bomb is deal with those damn fairies. Earthquake is to counter MegaZard X and Heatran.

Haxorus @ Yache Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Poison Jab

After some testing, I've changed out my old set of to a more offensive dragon dance set, which allows Haxorus to become a potential physical sweeper instead of a revenge killer and utility. Earthquake and Poison Jab for coverage and Dragon Claw as a good STAB (I don't want to lock myself into outrage and allow a fairy to come in and kill Haxorus)

Assault Vest, what the hell? Yes, Assault Vest on a Haxorus. Haxorus with Assault Vest gains significant special bulk. Haxorus can also outspeed most of its counters with its speed IVs and Jolly nature and OHKO them before they defeat Haxorus.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 68 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Defog
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Roost

Zapdos is a great special attacker. With Thunderbolt as a strong stab move and Hidden Power [Ice] for coverage, Zapdos is great for taking care of common problems on my team, like Ground and Water types. Defog is a great move to prevent my focus sashes from being broken by clearing Hazards on the field.

Kyurem-Black @ Assault Vest
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Rash Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Pulse

Kyurem-Black is my 'clean-up' pokemon. It takes care of the remainder of my opponent's team after problematic pokemon have been dealt with. It can tank hits with relative ease with its decent defence and Assault-Vest boosted Special Defence. It can hit most pokemon for at least neutral damage with its move set and can take them out with relative ease. It is also a great Dragon revenge killer because of the STAB Ice Beam being able to take out most dragons well.

Problems:
-Azumarill
-Volcarona
-Mega Mawile

Acknowledgement:
-WideTomato (Thanks man, been a great help)

Please leave your suggestions and ideas to help my improve my team. Thanks

-Puzzle King

EDIT:Changes in red. Thanks to all who contributed.

Hi, I have some suggestions why don't you ad stealth rock over Mach punch on infernape, you have a focus sash anyways..

And of you have a sash on crawdaunt, why don't you ad some defog support on the team, zapdos can actually run a amazing defensive set:

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 68 SpA / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Defog
- Roost

And for mvenu, investing that much speed is pretty unnecessary, I would suggest running this set instead:

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Earthquake
- Synthesis

And exactly what counters does Haxe outspeed and kill? Not skarm, ferro nor his checks like chomp, mawile or Latis... If you are going to use a Haxorus, the dd set is pretty much the most useful... You can use a Lappa berry or lum berry instead, outrage > dragon claw and dragon dance > brick break... Lappa berry half ice type damaged, and lum cures status, imo lum is the better...

Hope it helped, cheers! ^^

u should use Charizard for Infernape

I know But I think Charizard>Infernape And Breloom>Vensaur

View attachment 17000 I LOVE IT
have you even considered how that would open tons of holes in his team? n_n

Problems:
-Azumarill
-Volcarona
-Mega Mawile

M-venu handles azumarill, and nape is his best answer to mawile, resisting suckerpunch, and his team is already kinda weak to stealth rocks, and chirizard would force him to play very carefully around those, which sucks...

Heat Wave over HP Ice on Zapdos. Outrage over Dragon Claw or else no point in Lum. Ok, why does Infernape have a sash? If you're gonna say that because it's too frail, then why don't you give everyone on your team a sash o.O
I would suggest running air balloon on it. A Rash nature on Kyurem-B is weird too, I would suggest Modest or Jolly.
Also, you need to have more than 3 lines of description for each of your pokemon, and pictures are nice too. You also need to explain your EV spreads too.

nape is hes lead, therefore sash :]

and rash on cure'em is to not lower either attack or spa.

and hp ice on zapdos is to check landorus, garchomp, gliscor, and a ton of other .-. heatwave really only hits ferro and scizor...

Kyurem B already checks the above threats. Ferro can be a huge threat to this team once Infernape is dead. Infernape is a bad lead imo. You need someone to set hazards on your team. Hazards can sometimes put certain pokes into KO range of your other pokemon.

I would agree with pikachu, nape is not the best in OU... your description say that it can deal with the most common leads... so i would recommend using a sash lead garchomp. Fire blast, even with the low base sp.att can deal with those leads too, as well as setting hazard and also doing great damage with the powerful stab attacks.

Garchomp @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Blast

That's the lead that I commonly use too, except sometimes I run swords dance over Fire Blast. But for this team Fire Blast is obviously needed or else Ferro could run over your team.
