XY OU Rate My First Competitive OU!!

Let me start off by saying that I have posted RMTs in the past, so I apologize to any admin if one is still active. This is the one I want active.

Hey guys:

This is my first time getting into Pokemon Showdown OU. I've been too busy in the past but lately I've decided I should play on my spare time just to crawl my way up the ladder.

Before I reveal the team I have been using, yes I am aware of the lack of entry hazards and spinner/defogger. I know that they are very helpful, especially in the kind of team I have built. I've been able to get around the entry hazards on enemy teams 90% of the time and my Arcanine seems to do pretty well with cleaning up with Choice Banded ExtremeSpeed. In fact, Arcanine is the basis of the team and the others are meant to wall break/ko big threats on the opposing team to where he cleans up later on.

I am open to any suggestions, but I mostly try to avoid legends. Mostly because this is the same team I face locals around here and that is a typical rule. But as I said, I am open to any suggestions. Legends I could see using if only to advance in the ladder.

This is the team I have been meddling with:

Uindi (Arcanine) (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Extreme Speed
- Wild Charge
- Close Combat

Klefki_XY.gif

Gilbarco (Klefki) (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Foul Play
- Thunder Wave
- Light Screen
- Reflect

MegaScizor_XY.gif

Priscilla (Scizor-Mega) (F) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Atk / 112 Def / 100 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off

445_-_garchomp.gif

Formortiis (Garchomp) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance

gyarados.gif

Nidhogg (Gyarados) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

tyranitar.gif.v.QMd5ULn_tgRAeBD-yq19DQ

Ulasht (Tyranitar) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

Possible consideration:

Roserade.gif

Aphrodite (Roserade) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Aromatherapy
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I've ran into many issues with statuses, so I thought Roserade would fit this role perfectly on my team. She forces switches, often times can be a good lead due to Sleep Powder, and heals all in one package. I've done some testing with her in place of Klefki and she seems to do just as well, if not a little better.

Anyhow, any suggestions are welcome. I'd appreciate any help I can get!

If you really want espeed/fire coverage I'd suggest running an entei. It has more bulk than arcanine and a higher attack stat:

Entei @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Fire
- ExtremeSpeed
- Stone Edge / Iron Head / Bulldoze
- Iron Head / Stone Edge / Bulldoze

Should get the job done much better. You're also lacking crucial stealth rocks so I'd suggest adding sr to chomp over fire fang. You should also change your ttar set to include ice beam over ice fang

Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 192 HP / 64 SpA / 252 SpD
Naive / Sassy Nature
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast / Earthquake

Pursuit should work exactly the same as crunch if you play right, and ice beam ohko's lando-t every time with that investment. I don't know if you'd like to keep your speed tier or would prefer to keep your special bulk. I mean it's up to you.

And I'd suggest putting Stealth Rocks over Fire Fang on Garchomp. Fire fang is kind of useless anyways, the only thing you'll break is ferro and that's a 2hko at best.
252 Atk Garchomp Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 172-204 (48.8 - 57.9%) -- 45.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

I'll try Entei out. I totally forgot all about him. I wish his hidden ability would come out though D: Otherwise yeah he totally does the same thing better. Coverage and stats.

Tyranitar also was falling short, but I never used S.Atk with him. I'll try that today on showdown to see what happens. Also, SR is doing wonders with Garchomp. Thanks for the help!

You could run fire blast on garchomp if you use a naive nature. That will break both skarmory and ferrothorn. Also, Dual Chop can be a good replacement for Dragon Claw as it can break Substitutes and only has 10% less accuracy.
