XY OU Dragon Dance Mega-TTar

My peak with this team is somewhere in the 1600's, and I just wanted to see what improvements you guys can think of to help :)

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch
  • The main guy this team is built around, can sweep very wall after a DD or 2.
  • I use jolly to outspeed more stuff after a dragon dance and it hits hard anyways.
  • Without EQ Keldeo resists all of its moves but dual stabs + ice punch is great coverage otherwise

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Will-O-Wisp
  • Stallbreaker talonflame! max spdef and will-o-wisp makes it a great wall and is unexpected
  • It can beat most stall teams alone if it has to just by burning things and taunting them
  • It is walled by heatran but if they dont have lefties or ancient power i can actually beat it but it takes forever.
  • It's only real problem is rotom-w
  • Definitely one of the pokemon on this team that helps A LOT

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
  • Standard choice band azumarill to hit stuff hard and revenge kill things talonflame cant
  • I use it to knock off/punch holes in things to soften them up for ttar later
  • I was using AV azumarill but i found this fit better since i had chansey

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss
  • basic special wall.
  • can heal stuff with heal bell which i feel is very important, and provides wish support
  • can beat non-knock off/superpower thundurus which would otherwise be a problem

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
  • can spin away hazards and do serious damage in sand if ttar fails his sweep
  • before i had defog/DM/Psyshock/EQ latios in here, and i think i might switch back because i lack special attackers and it helped deal with heatran but idk.
  • I feel like this is just a must-have since I'm using sand but basically everything he does ttar can do after a DD (except beat scarfers, but i have priority)

Hi Garibaldi

Welcome to Smogon, and thanks for posting your RMT. Although you are lacking sufficient descriptions, I did give the team a lookover and had some quick suggestions to help improve it. Rotom-W looks extremely annoying to your team. You have nothing to really break it and it can beat pretty much anything on your team. Will-o-Wisp completely shuts down Tyranitar, Azumarill, and Excadrill, Volt Switch/Hydro Pump deals with Talonflame and Skarmory, and it can even mess with Chansey with Pain Split. Another major threat to your team is Keldeo, especially the Choice Specs variant. Nothing on your team can switch into Specs Keldeo and it can just spam out Scalds or predict Chansey with Secret Sword. With your current set, Talonflame can't even check Keldeo since Brave Bird only does 73-87% while Specs Scald does 99-117%. To help with your Rotom-W and Keldeo weaknesses, I'd recommend trying Latias over Chansey. Latias provides your team with a Special wall, who can reliably check both of these threats. You can toy around with the moveset, either Draco Meteor / Psyshock / Thunderbolt / Roost or if you want, you can use Healing Wish over Thunderbolt to provide support for your team. Healing Wish can cure status and restore a Pokemon back to full HP which is really useful if say Mega Ttar gets statused and you want a second chance to sweep with it or maybe you need Excadrill healed so he can get off a Spin, etc. Latias also does a decent job vs non-Knock Off Thundurus, which you mentioned Chansey currently is used to handle. Lastly, Latias provides your team with a Special attacked that it currently lacks.

One small change I'd make is to move 4 EVs on Talonflame from HP to Atk. The reason for this is so that you will then have an odd HP number rather than an even number. 248 HP EVs is useful because it allows Talonflame to live 2 Stealth Rock switchins, whereas 252 HP EVs means Talonflame can only switch into Stealth Rock once, and would die if it switched in 2 times. This is just something to be aware of when building teams, so you can have the most efficient EV spread.

Thank you ive been using latias over chansey and it has been working a lot better :) it fits much better with the team
 
Your team is REALLY weak tho Thundurus, it can basically beat everything 1v1, depending on what set it,is running. I would suggest running a life orb on excadrill, to be able to OHKO it. I would also run assault west > choice band on azumarill! not only does give you the ability to change move! but also make it a more effective check to a lot of stronger special attackers, like keldeo (even with the lati, icy wind is still a 2hko after rocks and sandstorm damaged), Thundurus and landorus.

Are you talking about scarf or specs because if its specs then it 2HKOS with just stealth rocks or with just sandstorm alone. But also to add on sand offence really can kill your team if they carry the Landorus, Thundurus, T-tar, core that some sand offence teams carry. It also doesn't help if they carry keldeo.
