XY NU AV ROCKS!! (peaked #1)

Ohai I didn't see you there :]

Okay well yesterday I was bored and I decided to make a random crappy NU team... except it wasn't crappy and actually ended up getting me to #1 on the ladder when I tested it out, so I decided I'll retire it and show you guys :]

(rip i still love u tho)

Oh and before I start, here's a pastebin to the team: http://pastebin.com/hke0VYug
Also, I'd like to thank Brawlfest for his major contribution to the team. I wouldn't have gotten where I am without you :]]]]

Dwayne (Regirock) @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Slide
- Drain Punch
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock

I used to run Assault Vest on this, but I found that Brawlfest's suggestion to run more of a tank was more suitable for this Pokemon. Given its bulky defensive stats, it's basically impossible to OHKO Regirock with one hit, so it's most likely going to get up Stealth Rocks every game. Plus, Thunder Wave and Rock Slide work together perfectly to get some nice ParaFlinches so Regirock barely ever gets touched throughout the battle.

Toad (Vileplume) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Aromatherapy

Don't let that cute, innocent smile fool you. This thing is a bulky monster. 224 Defense EVs and a bold nature are all this thing needs to start tanking scarfed Ice Punches from Sawk. It only does 44% max! Then, while Sawk is trying as hard as its heart will let it to KO it, BAM! Effect Spore kicks in and that sucker is asleep and you can suck all of its delicious souls away with Giga Drain.

4chan (Sawk) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

The point of this guy should be pretty obvious. He's a solid scarfer with a whopping base 125 attack stat. He either busts massive holes in teams or neatly finishes up the job as a late game sweeper. I run Mold Breaker over Sturdy because most people never read the infamous "Sawk breaks the mold!" at the bottom of the screen and decide to switch in Rotom to my Earthquake only to be sorely disappointed and in tears as that Rotom's HP slowly goes down to 0%. It never fails.

Momferno (Kangaskhan) (F) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch

I replaced Monferno with this thing (also requested by Brawlfest lol) and I must say that it really is a much better Pokemon. I used to run Double-Edge but I found that the recoil really shortened its much needed longevity, so I gave it Return instead. The 18 BP difference isn't really noticeable anyway tbh as it doesn't cause it to miss out on very many important KOs.

itzGator (Feraligatr) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch

Okay, before I start this one I wanna give a shout-out to itzGator. Follow him on YouTube:]
Anyway, might I say that this thing sets up extremely easily against defensive pokes *coughs* Uxie. Basically, if I get one DDance up, it's gg (unless the opponent has a Seismitoad but why would I set up knowing that they have that js)

mime__mime__by_jumpyjoltik-d7szjvs.png

Herbert (Mr. Mime) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Filter
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Dazzling Gleam
- Trick
- Energy Ball

Lastly, I just slapped a Mr. Mime on the team because I feel like it doesn't get enough respect these days, no respect at all. This thing gets a notable mention because it's got a high risk, high reward thing going on with Vileplume. If I correctly predict an opposing Vileplume to go for a support move and switch this guy in, I can either just KO the Vileplume or get a hefty hit on whatever decides to (reluctantly) switch in. Plus, I really need this guy because I have a huge Psychic weakness on my team and I need something to tank a hit easily and destroy lives afterward.

And that's it. Hope you enjoyed! Leave suggestions in the bottom, maybe I'll try out different stuff.

Hi there, this is an interesting team to say the least. I feel the main problem this team has is just misused roles. As a team that is more bulky offensive than anything with the likes of Vileplume and SubDD Gatr, it really doesn't help that you have a "designated lead", which basically means that in many cases you will be fighting an uphill battle of 6v5, especially if you have a bad matchup such as Seismitoad or Golurk. Monferno simply becomes something that you rely on to lead, which is an unhealthy habit for a team which relies on its members offensive and defensive synergy to beat opponents. Furhtermore, you are weak to anything Sawk is unable to revenge kill such as BD Slurpuff, who once set up with the support of one or two spikes easily can clean up your team.

I think the easiest thing to do is to use All-Out Attacker Kangaskhan over Monferno. As I've stated earlier, Monferno doesn't help your team at all, as result of the fact that it really has a bad matchup more more leads than not, and it will be unable to keep critical rocks up as result of its dying earlier in the match. Furthermore, the role of "Designated Lead" really only applies to HO teams, as outside of that it typically is unadvised to have a teammember who's goal is to get up rocks and die, as you lose a teamslot which can be filled in by something which can offer far more team support and synergy. Kangaskhan is a good choice, not only because it like Monferno can beat sash sticky web leads, but more important it punches holes Monferno is unable to. It is able to successfully revenge kill everything in the metagame, including the likes of Belly Drum Slurpuff due to its awesome dual priority, and it offers a great Ghost immunity for your team, which you currently have no resists against.

Minor Changes:
Regirock: Assault Vest Regirock is bad. I can't lie, it is. Its lack of recovery and inability to use the sheer variety of utility moves it has in its expansive movepool is simply a letdown, and furthermore, Regirock's bulk is already quite respectable. I suggest you run Tank Regirock with Stone Edge or Rock Slide | Drain Punch | Toxic or Thunder Wave | Stealth Rock, and 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd. It is far more reliable at supporting your team throughout the match with Stealth Rock, and has access to a Thunder Wave that it simply awesome for teams like yours, as it gives the likes of Feraligatr way more setup opportunities, and it prevents opponents from setting up on Regirock.
Mr. Mime: Trick > Shadow Ball, as a STAB Dazzling Gleam isn't something most psychics want to switch into anyways, but Trick can help cripple defensive switchins and potentially give you a free kill.

Hope this helps!

Thanks fren :]
I'll definitely try out that Kangaskhan lol

Hey dude, cool team you have here. I'm going to agree with Brawlfest with the Kangaskan and Regirock changes as they definitely improve the team, I would have suggested those myself but ninja'd. With that being said there's really not alot left to change as the team looks fairly solid, I do have one suggestion you can try out however. I think your team could benefit a slight change to Mr. Mime's set, running Life Orb and Healing Wish over Choice Specs and Shadow Ball. This would not only ease your prediction will still maintaining most of it's power but also let you potentially support Feraligatr and Kangaskgan, essentially giving something else on your team a second life. If you do choose to go down this route you could also afford to drop Substitute on Feraligatr for another coverage move as status wouldn't be as big a problem, both Return and Earthquake are generally solid options and provide decent neutral coverage.

Mr. Mime @ Life Orb
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Dazzling Gleam

- Healing Wish

Feraligatr @ Leftovers / Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Return / Earthquake

Hope I was able to help :]

I think Kangaskhan + SR Regirock is a good idea and I agree with most of the general sentiments of the above rates. However aside from that I think your team struggles from a lack of firepower, as most of your team has difficulty breaking through a well built defensive core and nothing is particularly good at punishing them. To help with this I would recommend changing Sawk to more of a wallbreaking role with either Choice Band or Life Orb, since it makes powering through walls a lot easier with the significant increase in power combined with Sawk's great coverage. You do lose Speed, but Kanga's dual priority helps alleviate this and Sawk is kind of a poor revenge killer anyway since it can't outspeed sweepers such as Gorebyss and Omastar after a Shell Smash. Zangoose is another alternative if you want your wallbreaker to function slightly better against offense, since it's slightly faster and has priority with Quick Attack, although it fares a bit worse against Rock- and Steel-types 1v1.

Also this next change isn't as fundamentally important but Spikes-stacking is pretty dangerous for you to face--Ferroseed and Garbodor in particular can set up freely against multiple team members and whittle away at you pretty quickly. Xatu > Mr. Mime helps against this a bit because it can bounce hazards back and still provide you with a Psychic resistance and a good specially offensive hole puncher.

Wallbreaker Sawk or Zangoose > Scarf Sawk
Xatu > Mr. Mime
Zangoose should run Facade | Close Combat | Knock Off | Quick Attack @ Toxic Orb and an Adamant or Jolly nature depending on preference.

Xatu should run Psychic | Heat Wave or Dazzling Gleam | Grass Knot | Roost @ Life Orb, with either a fast offensive spread of max SpA and Spe Timid or a bulky offensive one of 152 HP / 180 SpA / 176 Spe Modest (for outspeeding Adamant Sawk and OHKOing Golurk with Grass Knot.

I like the Mr. Mime idea, it has a lot of utility. But I think Substitute is still worth having because it can get me down to Torrent range as well as block status, since Healing Wish doesn't take away the threat of status completely. Idk lol???

Idk how my team lacks firepower if I have Choice Specs Mr. Mime and DDancing Gatr but ok. Also, Sawk does outspeed both of those threats and as long as they're not timid :] You're right about the Spikes problem tho :[[[
