XY OU First RMT. A Flaming Force

Hey everyone. This is my first RMT so I really look forward to hearing some feedback. From the moment I discovered Charizard was getting a mega, I knew that I wanted a team based around him and being an owner of Pokemon Y, I decided I just had to go with Charizard Y for the team. So here is the team, I've been able to hover consistently right around 1450-1500 on the ladder with this team, so I'm sure it can definitely be improved upon.

Shuckle (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
-Knock Off
-Sticky Web
-Stealth Rock
-Toxic

So here is the first guy on my team and also the one I have changed the most since I first began making this team. I realized that Charizard often struggled to sweep late game due to several Pokemon having higher speed than him, so I decided that Sticky Web was a must for my team to aid in the late game sweep. I also run Stealth Rock as its just awesome, and against some teams it just doesn't make sense to use Sticky Web, so I'll just go straight for rocks instead. Toxic is good to help with the cripple and stall and Knock Off is to help cripple my opponents monster further while preventing me from being completely susceptible to Taunt.

Charizard (M) @ CharizarditeY
Ability: Blaze -->Drought
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Fire Blast
-Solar Beam
-Focus Blast
-Air Slash

Ahhh Charizard, my favorite Pokemon since I first played Pokemon back on the Gameboy Color. The first three moves are pretty self explanatory, although I have considered running Flamethrower over Fire Blast for consistency. The fourth move slot I have changed a couple times since building this team, starting with Roost, then changing to Dragon Pulse and then finally to Air Slash. I like Air Slash, as it gives me a viable counter to Conkeldurr and other fighting types and it works quite well against Mega Venusaur

Keldeo (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Secret Sword
-Icy Wind
-Hidden Power Flying

I used to run Greninja over Keldeo, but I liked the extra bulk and hitting power of Keldeo, and with Sticky Web, the extra speed from Greninja just didn't seem as necessary. This guy hits like an absolute monster with Specs. Hydro Pump and Secret Sword are givens as they are the strongest STAB moves for Keldeo and Secret Sword is a great move against Chansey. Icy Wind is for those Mons the other two moves can't take down and the speed drop is great to go on top of Sticky Web. I chose Hidden Power Flying for the last move slot as its one of my teams few moves capable of dealing with Mega Venusaur. Keldeo is also my main counter for Mega Mawille as my team is fairly frail and Keldeo can tank a Sucker Punch and then blast him back with a move.

Excadrill (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
-Rapid Spin
-Earthquake
-Iron Head
-Rock Slide

Since I'm running Charizard Y who has a crippling Stealth Rock weakness, I needed a spinner to protect him so I chose to go with Assault Vest Excadrill. These two have great synergy together and the Assault Vest really helps make sure Excadrill will get off the spin. Sure it sacrifices a bit of attack power but the extra bulk is totally worth it. I once tanked an Overheat in the sun from a Mega Manectric. Excadrill also serves as one of my main counters for Fairy Types as Iron Head just simply wrecks them. Mold Breaker allows me to hit the Latis and other Levitate users as well.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Nasty Plot
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power Ice
-Focus Blast

The electric genie himself. I used to run Thunder Wave, but with Sticky Web, I decided to go with Nasty Plot instead. Since most people tend to think I'm running Thunder Wave, I can often get off a free Nasty Plot and from there Thundurus is just an absolute monster. HP Ice is to hit mons like Landorus and Gliscor and Focus Blast is so I can hit Heatran and TTar. Life orb is for the extra fire power that really helps Thundurus just wreck the competition.

Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Dragon Claw

To wrap things up, I chose to run ScarfChomp on my team. With a Choice Scarf, Garchomp is an incredible revenge killer capable of taking out so many things. Outrage is used if there are no more counters on my opponent's team for Dragon type and otherwise I use Dragon Claw. Earthquake and Stone Edge are fairly self explanatory moves. Rough Skin is used as it helps to weaken physical attackers and I've even won a couple battles by Talonflame killing himself with a combination of recoil and Rough Skin.

So there we go and here is the team. I like it a lot, but I feel that it can still be improved in many ways. I really appreciate any feedback that you guys can give me on my team and I will be very open to any suggestions.

Importable Team if you would like to test it out

Hey! I like the team so far, however with sticky web support I feel like modest charizard y would make more sense, the extra power helps and it isn't a huge loss with scarf chomp and t wave thundy right there behind it. The second thing I think could help is if you maybe run bisharp, as opponents will want to rid their side of the field of sticky web, and defog is more widely distributed and currently more common in my experience. Bisharp can benefit and sweep teams at +2, my favourite set for bisharp on sticky web teams is:

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Low Kick

low kick allows you to beat opposing bisharp that will switch in on web to gain +2 attack, and at -1 speed you can outpace and ohko. Your excadrill set could use a little work as well, assault vest is something that, in my opinion, should not be run without recovery. Something like balloon or scarf could benefit your team greatly I feel and could also result in more reliable spinning to keep zard healthy. try something like this:

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

If you choose to run this, garchomp could be substituted for a late game sweeper with priority, such as dragonite, as two scarfers are not necessary, especially on a sticky web team. With that in mind, I suggest this:

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Extreme Speed

Keep in mind as you read this that these are merely suggestions and my opinion as well. Hopefully I helped you with your team, and good luck in the future. :]

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll try them out and see how they work out
