Alomomola [QC 0/3]

594.gif

Overview
########

+ Terrifying HP stat and a good Defense stat
+ Access to good abilities such as Regenerator
+ Only 2 weaknesses, that means outstanding Defensive typing
+ Access to reliable recovery in Wish
- Terrible Special stats
- Set up bait

Physically Defensive
########
name: Physically Defensive
move 1: Toxic
move 2: Wish
move 3: Protect
move 4: Scald
ability: Regenerator
item: Leftovers
evs: 104 HP / 248 Def / 156 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

  • Toxic slowly does increased damage every turn.
  • Wish is great and can be used for Alomomola itself, recovering it by 50%, but it can also be used as a supporting move, to heal allies
  • Using Protect allows Alomomola to scout the opponent, and works good in combination with Wish, this way Alomomola can't be hit and heals Alomomola after.
  • Scald is there to inflict a burn on the opponent, but has very limited power, because Alomomola's terrible Special Attack.

Set Details
========

  • 104 HP EVs and 248 EVs invested in Defenseallows Alomomola to take any unboosted physical hits, and can poison it after.
  • The EVs invested in Special Defense allows Alomomola to take a more small amount of hits
  • Regenerator grants Alomomola recovery every time it is forced out or has to switch out when facing one of its checks/counters.
  • Leftovers recover Alomomola a bit, giving it a little bit more longevity.
  • Bold adds up to Alomomola's monstrous physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

  • Thanks to its massive physical bulk, Alomomola can be switched in physical abusers and wear them down with Toxic or burn them with Scald.
  • Switch Alomomola in on stall, Alomomola can poison it and slowly wear it down every turn.
  • When an important teammate is in bad condition, make sure you use Wish and then switch into the teammate.

Team Options
========

  • Basically anything that can switch into special Grass- and Electric attacks well, such as Amoonguss, will work; Alomomola is easily defeated by these Attacks.
  • Cleric Support is really good, as Alomomola is severally crippled by Poison. Aromatisse is a good example.
  • Pokemon that can take advantage of Alomomola's Wish support are also handy, especially when they can take care of Alomomola's weaknesses after.

Other Options
########

  • Magic Coat
  • Mirror Coat
  • Waterfall
  • Knock Off (breaks Meloetta's Substitute)
  • Healing Wish

Checks & Counters
########

**Grass-types** Amoonguss and Rotom-Mow can easily tank Scald and strike back with one of their STAB attacks.

**Electric-types** Pokemon such as Jolteon and Heliolisk can set up a substitute and OHKO Alomomola with a Thunderbolt or another Electric-type move.

**Reuniclus** Reuniclus is immune to Toxic damage thanks to Magic Guard and can set up on Alomomola after.

**Substitute** Substitute Attackers such as Meloetta, Gallade and Virizion, can use Substitute and easily set up on Alomomola after, that may cause serious trouble.

**Status** Toxic reduces Alomomola's HP every turn and slowly wears it down.

Hi Soulblaster, I think this needs some work. Not qc just gonna share my thoughts:

[Overview]
- Not sure anout that "outstanding" defensive typing. It's resistances aren't really notable and its weak to volt switch, so idk.
- Being set-up bait for anything is mola's biggest flaw so make sure to mention that.
- remove small movepool, its irrelevant honestly as mola has all the moves it could need/ask for.

[Physically Defensive]
I know for a fact that 252/252 spreads are inefficient for mola. The last analysis has 104 hp / 248 def / 156 SpD bold and I see no reason not to use that spread again, the difference in phyaical bulk is minimal and the added SpD really help it take some hits betfer. Remove Knock Off, put it in OO, Scald is too good.

Usage tips needs a bit more rhings, add something like "watch out for the opponent taking advantage of mola's wishtect to set up"

Team Options also needs work. Add phazers because Alomomola is extreme set up bait for the likes of SubBU and SubCM mons. Rhypeeior has Roar and can phaze subBU braviary and take it on, while appreciating the Wish support. Also something to take care of Virizion, because it sets up all over mola. Put examples, and dont jusy generalize with "clerics or things that take grass and electric attacks in general".. for example aromatisse as a cleric and amoonguss as something that takes those attacks.

In OO, put Knock Off and a specially defensive spread.

In C&C, add Grass types like Tangrowth, Amoonguss, Gourgeist-S and Virizion, and remove steel types cuz they can be crippled by burn and all of them are physical. Likewise, remove Poison types. Add examples on the Substitute attackers category; Meloetta, Braviary, Gallade.

Again im not qc just a few thoughts

HEALING WISH IN OO
and be sure to mention that knock off in oo can break meloetta's substitute
Also you should find a more sdef spread as that is partially the goal of this revamp.
You should also use the C&C section of the current analysis as a starting point too as most stuff is still relevant and the current one looks skimpy

double posting to say this is completed. QC? Spirit EonX atomicllamas

I'm sorry, but the QC team has decided to reassign this. At the moment the analysis would need a huge amount of work to get past the QC Stage, and after some consideration Alomomola's current analysis may or may not actually need a full update at all, a lot of the changes needed to the onesite right now could most likely be made on the scms with little consequence

locking!
