XY UU UU Spikestacking Offense w/ Critdra [Needs Help] [1313]

Hello, today i'm here today to show you all a team that I really enjoy using, but am having trouble breaking past the 1300s. I built this team quite quickly, so it's not the best, which is why i came here. Well anyways enough rambling, let's get on with the RMT.

The Team At a Glance.

Froslass.gif

Haunted House (Froslass) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond
- Spikes
- Ice Beam Icy Wind

T
his is my lead most of the time, sashed frosslass, not only does it have the great ability to get up entry hazards almost 100% of the time, with focus sash and cursed body, it can also knock out threats with destiny bond and ice beam, all in all, this is a great pokemon for the team. I don't think there is much wrong with it, but maybe the EV's and IV's could be tweaked a little bit. But thats all for frosslass!

Darmanitan_XY.gif

Hulk Hogan (Darmanitan) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

A
hh, scarfed darmanitan, one of the biggest threats in the tier. There isn't much to explain about this guy. He can get rid of basically any threat that the rest of my team can't kill. Normally, this is what I go into once I get the double down with frosslass's d-bond. Anyways, not much to say about this guy, but any suggestions are welcome.

Shiny_Hydreigon_XY.gif

Percy (Hydreigon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Superpower
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

Iron Tail Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 56 Atk / 220 SpA / 232 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Iron Tail
- Superpower

Hydreigon, this is a great pokemon for the team mainly because it can synergize well with the rest of the team, and with the capability of being able to 2HKO a blissey with said EV spread of 56 atk and 200spa, it really goes well with what its here for, getting momentum and picking off threats.

Nidoking_XY.gif

Rick James (Nidoking) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam

Nidoqueen, this thing sucks. I mean, most of the time, I should say. It pulls absolutely no weight besides getting off the minimal toxic spikes from my field that very rarely appear there. Essentially, it's supposed to be a stallbreaker, but sometimes I find that hard to work with. Most of the time I end up sacking it. So if you have any suggestions, I will most likely change them asap.

Lucario_XY.gif

Liberal (Lucario) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Close Combat
- Iron Tail Crunch

Lucario is a great mon for the team, being able to pick off specially defensive mons that critdra cant handle as well. I really wanted a setup sweeper, and I needed a counter/check to florges, so lucario seemed like the best option. Lucario also gives me priority against things late game, which makes it a great late game sweeper, or even a great mid game sweeper.

Kingdra_XY.gif

Toshiro (Kingdra) @ Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Focus Energy
- Agility
- Draco Meteor
- Surf

H
ere we have it, the god itself. Critdra. (Also my favorite pokemon) This thing breaks past walls like theres no tomorrow. It's ability to freely setup vs crocune and then be able to wallbreak from there makes it such a great mon for the team. I think the EV's could be adjusted, but for the most part I think its a pretty solid set. I was thinking of replacing hydro pump for surf just incase I needed extra damage, but for the most part I need a hard hitting STAB water move. So I settled on surf. :]]

If you enjoyed the RMT let me know, it's my first one so if it sucks, sorry. But I tried to follow the rules as best as I could xD.

Importable:

Toshiro (Kingdra) @ Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature

- Agility

- Surf

Haunted House (Froslass) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond
- Spikes
- Icy Wind

Hulk Hogan (Darmanitan) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

Hey! I think your team is OK and if you don't mind I'd like to test it out later, but a little thing I'd suggest is to go with Icy Wind over Ice Beam on Froslass. It's a little nitpick but it can possibly let your Destiny Bond out speed in case the lead is faster than you.

I'll let you know a bit more later because of mobile llimitations but your team doesn't sound too bad! =)

Edit 1: Just a little nitpick, but you should probably give 0 ivs in attack to all your special-oriented pokemon (if it doesn't interfere with the HP). That reduces damage from moves like foul play and confusion damage to a relative minimum.

Hey Tridents, this is a nice team at a glance, but I'd like to suggest some set changes.

First thing, I'd like you to run this Hydreigon set:

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 56 Atk / 220 SpA / 232 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Iron Tail
- Superpower

EVs are changed to give Dreigon more power. The wallbreaking set is typically used for defeating cores that use Florges, so catching them on switch-ins is key. Next thing I'd recommend is changing Nidoqueen with Nidoking. Because you're already running full offense on Nidoqueen, it makes more sense to run the more offensive of the two rather than get extra bulk. On Froslass, I'd change the EVs to 252 SpAtk and just leave 4 in HP. Even though Froslass's main goal is to set up spikes, it's nice to have power incase you need it. This is just one more suggestion, but Crunch>Iron Tail on Lucario. Because we've changed Hydreigon and Nidoqueen to deal with Florges, it's better to have Crunch on Luke to deal with non-scarfed Chandelure. Overall this team is pretty good and deals with a lot of major threats in the metagame if you play right. Glhf and hope I helped.

On Froslass I recommend investing in HP over SpA because its not hurting much and you might be able to get another layer of spikes or something.

Now, I recommend using scarf Hydreigon and replacing Darmanitan with Sableye. Sableye makes for great hazard control and allows you to break stall much more easily. Also, it is an emergency check to Hydreigon, who basically ruins this team. Scarf Hydreigon also forces speedties with itself in a pinch.

On Nidoking, I recommend Stealth Rock over Ice Beam or Flamethrower (which you should replace with Fire Blast anyways). Stealth Rock puts some critical extra damage on opponents when you're trying to sweep or wallbreak (or even just forcing switches), and with Spikes, you can really ness people up.

Replace Crunch on Lucario with Earthquake or Bullet Punch. Crunch allows you to beat more Pokemon like Nidoqueen while Bullet Punch let's you beat stuff like Mega Aerodactyl and Florges / Aromatisse more easily.

On Kingdra, I don't really know because I havent used it much, but enough Atk EVs and Waterfall allow you to beat Florges / Blissey more easily.

Hope I helped!

EDIT: Fix Nidoking's EVs in the importable

Sorry. Sableye really doesnt work on this team.. Any other suggestions?

Hmm. The only other good Ghost in UU is Chandelure, who might actually work because you're replacing Darmanitan. I'm genuinely surprised that Sableye doesn't work with this team.

EDIT: Adamant over Jolly nature on Lucario

Hey there Trident, nice team you ha e there, I would recommend investing HP over spA because you want to live to be able to get up a layer of spike, or just set up. I'd recommend running Some ohher than SR on nidoking, something like Ice beam, fire blast, or just something different. I wouldn't run crunch on lucario, I'd p much run anything else really. Other than that, great team and I hope it goes well!

Hi, so this is a pretty decent team so I don't think I need to change much, the only suggestion I would make is running Scarf Jirachi over Scarf Darmanitan A) Because it gives you a flying resist and B) Because it gives you at least something to switch into a Draco Meteor. Therefore you have a better answer for Scarf Hydreigon which your team otherwise struggles with immensely. It also provides Healing Wish support to your two main sweepers in Lucario and Kingdra allowing you to play more recklessly with them early game in order to be able to sweep again with them late game :]

As for minor changes, Lucario should run Bullet Punch over Crunch and Adamant over Jolly Nature, Hydreigon should run Roost over Iron Tail since Jirachi takes the pressure off you vs Fairies and Kingdra would benefit from running a spread of 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe in order to outspeed Scarf Mienshao and below after a boost and just give Kingdra a little bit of added bulk that helps with setting up :]

That's all I got for you though, Jirachi set can be found below and yeah good luck with the team :]

jirachi.gif

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Healing Wish
- Zen Headbutt
