most known for: being that guy who "only uses stall" and being cancerous for it lol​


xzern: So tell me, qol, why is your name what it is?
QueenOfLuvdiscs: I decided that I wanted my alts to be named after playing cards, and the most iconic one was the Queen Of Hearts; Luvdisc looks like a heart. simple as that.

xzern: Favorite type of pokemon? (Normal, Fairy, Bird, etc.)
QueenOfLuvdiscs: I really like Grass-type Pokemon. It's just something about them and their designs I really like, plus they are always my starters in the games.

xzern: How did you come to competitive battling/Smogon?
QueenOfLuvdiscs: I started playing Pokemon Online in Gen 5, then the tiers became ridiculous and disgusting, so I moved to Showdown to see if the tiers were any better, and they really were haha.

xzern: What's your favorite part of NU?
QueenOfLuvdiscs:I like the fact that you can always find something new everyday whilst laddering, whether it can be frustrating or really eye-opening. It can change how I build teams or even play entirely, it's never the same.

xzern: If you could ban or unban one thing from NU, what would it be/why?
QueenOfLuvdiscs: I'd like to see Spiritomb back in NU. I know that this is a really controversial idea, as most people hated the Spiritomb meta, but I really enjoyed that meta. The tier back then was more balanced in my opinion with it, with many of the common threats we have now were checked. Shame really.

xzern: NU player you most admire?
QueenOfLuvdiscs: Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd probably say iplaytennislol surprisingly. He may not be the best out there, trust me, I know that as well as most people do, but his constant innovation is why I like him (even if at times it sucks).

xzern: Do you have any advice for people new to NU?
QueenOfLuvdiscs:never use fire blast zangoose. The main thing about this tier is knowing what the standard stuff is, and trying to build a team that can be quirky as well as effective. Obviously, you could use the standard stuff, but where is the fun in that? If you can do that, you'll enjoy NU as a tier.

xzern: Could you give me something like a mini RMT to conclude the interview, one that demonstrates your teambuilding style?
QueenOfLuvdiscs: The team that I have been really liking atm is one which uses Mirror Coat Avalugg with Calm Mind Slurpuff. The purpose behind the team is to where down the opponent by setting up hazards with Ferroseed + Garbodor and using Audino + Altaria to cleric the team as well as eats the Fire-type attacks in the tier. Once that happens, Slurpuff just comes through at the end and picks everything off one by one. Oh, and Mirror Coat Avalugg is a lord that beats Calm Mind Xatu, which is why I'm using it over Cryogonal.

I know we didn't ban it; I know the difference between banning and rising via usage . I interpreted the question as what mon would you like in NU; get off my case :[

in all seriousness tho, queenie is a gr8 player and probably deserved to be interviewed weeks before some of the more known users on site. he's actually open to new and interesting sets and doesnt refute every point someone makes. it's too bad he never talks in ps chat or on forums, he could actually be one of the few "good" users.

I got this one.
Weird sets, weird plays, generally anything outside of the ordinary. I know Queen almost got destroyed by a special Lifeorb Poliwrath, cause it obviously wasn't something his team prepared for. Stall teams rely critically on knowing what the opp does; so if they're shit at the game and making bad plays, or just using a weird set, you can't predict them and you lose that level of comfort :]
