Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
While we're talking about rain, how is it going to deal with sceptile? It can switch into anything rain abusers typically spam except hurricane, and OHKO just about everything. Swampert will outspeed in rain, so ice punch is a must, but if it falls sceptile can clean really easily
I was actually thinking about using it in rain, it's fast as piss, has focus blast for ferrothorn, gives zero fuks about grass/electric attacks, giving it great synergy, and poops on thunderus' day.
so using my mixed wall breaker metagross set, i theorymonned up a team w/ it:
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 208 Atk / 120 SpA / 180 Spe
Mild Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Grass Knot
spaceship here sends walls into space with its coverage+power, thus opening the way for a lucha cleanup(as for pdef gliscor, it needs acro to beat lucha, but if it has that, it can't touch metagross. if it has earthquake to beat metagross, it can't touch hawlucha.)
Hawlucha @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 200 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick
- Acrobatics
- Substitute
ctcs hawlucha spread works nicely with mega metagross
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
the birds+gar check, also works as a soft check to mega gyara, forms a nice volt turn w/ rotom-w
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
the bulky water+pivot to get lucha/gross in safely
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 172 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Protect
lastly, the mandatory gyara check.

wallbreaker mega metagross seems really hard, if not impossible, to straight up counter consistently throughout a match. lando-t dies attempt two, rotom-w can only take so much, and everything else just dies. like literally the only things that don't die attempt 2 are phys def gliscor and rotom-w. and gliscor needs the proper move to hit metagross! i honestly think that mixed wall breaker mega metagross will just throw stall over the cliff. its nearly impossible, if not impossible, to cover everything already, but now you need to strain your resources to cover mega metagross. its just crazy.
oh btw mantine walls ur mgross breaker set <3 Also it has no real way to get past mons like zapdos, wallbreaker talonflame, bulky chomp, mew, mandibuzz, etc there are prolly a few out there i'm missing.
Basically, I don't mean to shit on your set or anything cuz its a really fucking cool lure set but no way in the hell is it breaking stall lmao
also ur entire team is walled by crocress <3

4mss is a dick isn't it
also for mandibuzz to beat metagross it has to be phys def, which means it can't beat gengar. also, if talonflame gets to a low enough HP, it needs to roost. it can't safely recover against metagross. and mew is also risky(in the same boat as phys def mandibuzz actually) because meteor mash has this really nifty chance of an attack boost. bulky chomp i will give you, as i will zapdos. and mantine dies on attempt 2/3
also what is crocress?? and even if "crocress" did wall my team, cresselia couldn't do jack shit to it and would eventually get stalled out

Kingdra OHKOs with Dragon STAB
Ice Punch Swampert
It takes a LOT from Specs Hydro unless it has already mega evolved
Ice Beam Ludicolo
Kabutops OHKOs with Stone Edge
I'm not particularly worried. And of course, Rain can use something like mega scizor to check.
Atm im working with a silly M-Camerupt set. While its what you would expect with Max HP and Sp Attack, I'm running around with Yawn as the last attack, and im loving it xD
Blast!!! (Camerupt) @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Rock Slide
- Yawn
The name is just from habit, but ive enjoyed the ability to mess with incoming switches trying to hit me with what they think is good and seeing if the opponent will risk their mon for the yawn.
Believe it or not Ancient Power actually does more than Rock Slide, and it doesn't miss. I would also replace Yawn with SR, but the last slot is up to you.
So I've been seeing alot of people posting about how CroBro will be really good, but I've been wwondering why people choose Rest and sleep talk over Slack off and ice beam.
I mean Slack off has less PP, but you don't have to risk not doing anything at all, and you an run Ice beam to kill Dragons(or Psyshock)
I guess rest Removes status, and thats really helpful but I'm still not to sure if it's worth the Coverage loss.

Well when you're at +6 you really don't need coverage. The problem is things with Water Absorb or Dry Skin. But once things like Vaporeon and Toxicroak are off the field Crobro will wreck.
So apparently on Showdown the new Megas have been implemented?
Can I ask why exactly that is? Especially when the move tutor moves haven't been implemented either; it makes absolutely no sense to import one new aspect of ORAS and leave out a whole other aspect which will obviously leave a huge impact on competitive. I disagree with including any of it before the game comes out regardless but come ON, if you're going to include the Megas you've got to include the Tutor moves and everything else too.

Oh.
... never mind ignore me completely
then again shouldn't you include the move tutor moves too for moveset creation? Or is that too hard to prevent from use

I kinda hoped we could use them because I'm so excited and I figured we might as well be able to do that now that we have all the information about them there's not really anything stopping us from being able to use them besides smogon not letting us use them until ORAS is released :/

Oh wow it does. Was not thinking of that at all.. But I was running Yawn to help alleviate all the bad switchins that could potentially happen with Camerupt and really I feel the slot is just what it is as those three moves let it hit all that it really wants to. I just like messing with the people who send in say a Keldeo expecting an easy KO with Scald only to face having it neutered for the rest of the match :D
Yeah, all you have to do is type in the new moves you want for each Pokemon, select the Mega you want and go into one of the Showdown chatrooms and ask for a custom ORAS battle. (Not many people have made teams yet though so it can be difficult to get a battle. :/)

It does which goes to show the craziness that you can pull off with Camerupt, as that last slot is really customizable for what you want him to do. Wisp em, Yawn em, SR in their face? He is a really fun mon and one I think will be easy to support just do to the fact that he can switch in quite well with his unique typing and you can easily prepare for Ground and water type attacks. The fact he can fight Garde and Mew is just icing too :D

It's extremely unlikely. The game data for move tutors and level up moves was revealed. Perhaps there might be alternate tutors we don't know of yet or TM changes or something, and maybe new egg moves, but we probably have most if not all the new moves already discovered.

I meant that we don't know if the tutors are finalized because it's still exactly the same as B2/W2 tutors plus Focus Punch, Water Pulse, and Shock Wave. There's also existence of Dark Pulse and Sleep Talk, which shouldn't be tutor moves since they're already TMs. It's also good to note that Blastoise doesn't even learn Dark Pulse so it's obvious that that they haven't finished compatibility at the least. This is not the forum to discuss this, but there's very little demo data that we can be too sure about being the same in the final game.

It's suspected that the move tutor list was literally copy-pasted from BW2. It's very likely that a Dark Pulse tutor won't be in the final product since there's a ton of leftover data from previous games (Key Items that were never released like the Azure Flute, X/Y route info, etc.) in the demo that really shouldn't be there outside of laziness.
