Other XY OU Viability Ranking: Sets

Just make the description for E rank:

"This set is not viable at all. Either it completely fails to do its job, or something else does its job better in almost every situation."

Or make it "Z rank" to get the point across that it's not viable.

Since we don't have every viable set of every pokemon listed and probably never will, I think it would be worth it just to avoid any confusion as to whether a set isn't listed because it's unviable, or because it's too obscure to be nominated yet.

These sets should probably be restricted to anything that's listed on the approved analyses and the innovative sets thread(s).

I was just wondering, since Garchomp's only A+ set is as a lead, shouldn't it at least be in the same rank as Terrakion and Mamoswine, who have some advantages over Garchomp. Terrakion can Taunt opposing leads and Mamoswine is immune to it. What makes Garchomp's better? So, could Garchomp's Focus Sash lead set be moved down to A? Or could it be explained to me why it's better than Mamoswine's or Terrakion's?

It's because the rankings of sets will only correlate to the ranking of said mon in the viability rankings. As such their sets can't go to A+ because they fall under that rank.

Valmanway decided early on (and by "decided" I mean "liked my post") that no unviable sets would be ranked. Giving them rank implies that there's something about them that makes it worth using from a cursory glance, which we don't want to encourage.

Normally I would agree that ranking something unviable is entirely pointless, but when you consider how highly used cosmic power Clefable is in lower ladder, it probably deserves a mention as one of the shittiest sets you can run on it. Putting it under "utter shit rank" would probably get the point across that there's nothing worth using about it.

My main point is that cosmic power Clefable is probably the most common Clefable set down there, and I thought it would be a good idea to blacklist in this thread or something to make these players understand it's garbage. As Zebstrika said, if it's simply not in this thread new players may think it hasn't been added yet, or they're simply using an underrated/innovative set or something.

Also sorry if I'm derailing this thread, this is my last post on cosmic power Clefable as it's definitely more worth discussing sets that are actually viable. Speaking of viable sets, I see that Seismitoad's stealth rock set hasn't been added beneath his name, that should probably be added as its one of the reasons he got a promotion in the first place. Basically Gastrodon that can set up rocks even if it's deadweight.
