Overview
########

Camerupt has a niche that isn't filled by many other Pokemon in the tier - that of a bulky Fire-type. Its good typing allows Camerupt to take on Electric- and Fire-types with relative ease. Camerupt is also a Stealth Rock user without a Grass-type weakness, which is rare in NU. The weaknesses it does have are partially accounted for by Solid Rock, which weakens super effective attacks. Water-type moves still hit very hard, due to Camerupt's 4x weakness. The playstyles that utilize Camerupt most effectively are balance and stall. However, it is not as bulky as it may seem, and can easily be taken down by strong STAB moves. Camerupt has solid offensive stats too, but unfortunately low speed.

Stealth Rock

name: Stealth Rock
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Lava Plume
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Roar
ability: Solid Rock
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Sassy

Moves
========

Stealth Rock is always a useful entry hazard to wear down the opponent's team and punish repeated switching. Lava Plume is a nice STAB move, and has a decent chance to burn, which comes in useful. Earthquake hits hard, especially on Pokemon that come in thinking they can take Lava Plumes all day, such as Dragalge, Probopass and Magmortar. Roar phazes out the opponent, preventing them from setting up and also racking up hazards damage. Toxic can be used to cripple Pokemon that like to switch in on Camerupt, such as Water-types. Will-O-Wisp can be used in place of Roar if you really need Camerupt to be able to cripple Pokemon such as Hariyama and Rhydon.

Set Details
========

Max HP and Max Special Defense with a Sassy Nature is used to take on the Electric-, Fire-, Ice- and Grass-types it's trying to beat. 248 HP is used instead of 252 to take less damage from hazards. Leftovers are for passive recovery turn by turn. Solid Rock lets Camerupt take Water- and Ground-type attacks better if it needs to.

Usage Tips
========

Set up Stealth Rock when you can, since that's what Camerupt is used for. Since Camerupt has a bad matchup against most other Stealth Rock users, it's usually not best to lead with it. Bring it in later in the match to set up Stealth Rock. Fish for burns with Lava Plume when you can. Use Earthquake to beat opposing specially bulky or Ground weak Pokemon. Roar is used to phaze Pokemon trying to set up on Camerupt and to rack up entry hazard damage. If using Toxic, use it to cripple incoming Water- and Ground-type Pokemon that beat Camerupt. Will-O-Wisp, if used, should be used to cripple incoming physical attackers such as Rhydon and Hariyama without Guts.

Team Options
========

Good teammates for stall include Pelipper, Ferroseed, Dragalge, Audino, and Tangela, among others. Sweepers with set up moves, such as Lilligant and Feraligatr, appreciate the support that Camerupt provides. Vileplume and other Grass-types pair well with Camerupt, as they can easily take Ground- and Water-type attacks. It should be used alongside Defog or Rapid Spin support, as Camerupt is susceptile to all hazards.

Choice Specs
########
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Eruption
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Hidden Power Grass
ability: Solid Rock
item: Choice Specs
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Eruption is a powerful nuke when Camerupt is at high health. Fire Blast is a more reliable and consistent STAB move, and doesn't get weaker when Camerupt's HP drops. Earth Power provides a solid Ground-type STAB move that hits Rock-types and does decent damage to neutral targets. The last slot isn't entirely necessary, as Camerupt will mostly be using its STAB moves to dent things. You can use your choice of Hidden Power to act as a lure for Pokemon your team struggles with, though Grass is the most consistent, and usually best, choice. Hidden Power Grass is for Seismitoad, among others. Hidden Power Ice is for Altaria. Hidden Power Electric is for Mantine and Pelipper.

Set Details
========

Max Special Attack alongside a Modest Nature is used to do as much damage as possible. Max Speed outspeeds as many Pokemon as possible, such as 0 speed Seismitoad, Lanturn, Vileplume, Granbull and more. Choice Specs lets Camerupt nuke the opponent with strong STAB moves.

Usage Tips
========

If Camerupt is above 72% health, use Eruption, as it is the most powerful option. If Camerupt is below 72%, use Fire Blast, because Eruption is not as powerful. Bear in mind that your opponent may bring you down to below 72% before you get to attack, because Camerupt isn't very fast. Earth Power smacks Pokemon that resist Fire-type attacks. Hidden Power Grass should be used if you expect Rhydon or Seismitoad to switch in. Hidden Power Electric should be used if you expect Mantine or Pelipper to switch in. Hidden Power Ice should be used if you expect Altaria to switch in.

Team Options
========

This set works well with speed control support, such as Sticky Web (Kricketune, Leavanny) and Thunder Wave (Ferroseed, Musharna). Sweepers that appreciate Camerupt's wallbreaking ability are also good teammates. Examples include Feraligatr, Zangoose and Gurdurr. Pokemon that can switch into Water- and Ground-type moves, such as Vileplume, are very useful teammates.

Other Options
########

Protect can be used on the Stealth Rock set to scout and get Leftovers recovery, as well as rack up Toxic or burn damage if using a status move. Rock Polish boosts Camerupt mediocre Speed to high levels, and allows it to outspeed the majority of the tier. Yawn can put your opponent to sleep and force switches. A physical set can be used, but Camerupt has higher Special Attack, and no good physical Fire-type moves. Flame Charge is an option to boost Camerupt's Speed while hitting the opponent, but it is pitifully weak and usually not worth the moveslot. Explosion is a cool last ditch effort to deal lots of damage in one hit at the sacrifice of your life. Solar Beam can be used with a Power Herb to surprise opposing Water-types and severely dent them. However, it's generally not worth sacrificing a move and item slot for.

Checks & Counters
########

**Water-types**: Samurott, Feraligatr, Seismitoad, Kabutops, and the other common Water-types in NU threaten Camerupt with powerful 4x super effective moves that can easily OHKO.

**Ground-types**: Seismitoad, Rhydon, Sandslash and Golurk can all do lots of damage to Camerupt with their strong super effective Ground-type moves.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: As Camerupt is usually invested in its Special Defense, strong physical attackers such as Zangoose, Sawk, and Kangaskhan can deal a lot of damage.

**Entry Hazards**: Camerupt is vulnerable to all entry hazards, and they make it susceptible to being KO'd more easily.

**Fast Pokemon**: Anything faster than Camerupt (most offensive Pokemon, as Camerupt is slow) can easily get a hit in before Camerupt is able to do anything. They can also deny Camerupt's support efforts by using Taunt before it is able to set up Stealth Rock.

Nitpick, but bulky Rupt should have 248 HP; max HP Camerupt has a max HP divisible by 8 but not 16, meaning it is only taking more damage from hazards.

Hidden Power Grass should be used if you expect Rhydon or Seismitoad to switch in.

idk, tbh earth power does a lot to rhydon too lol, its probably from my skeleton though so mb

you can probably talk about this in moves before the hidden powers: Camerupt doesn't really need the 4th moveslot since its STABs have good coverage in the tier, so the hidden powers are used to lure in stuff for your team <- something like that

DID IT

tell me if i did c&c wrong i dont like the new format :x
You need to outline specific situations the Pokemon in C&C will face against Camerupt. For instance, Strong Physical attackers such as X,Y, and Z can do lots of damage to Camerupt however they struggle to switch in when Camerupt attacks and have to be wary of switching into Lava Plume as there is a good possibility of being burned which would negate their offensive capabilities. Or something along those lines, also give examples of hazard setters and anything faster. Tag me back when this has been updated so I can give you the go ahead.

Hey, here's an amcheck for ya.

(Remove all of those spaces in between each C/C)
EDIT: I hadn't realized that you still have to 'beef up C&C' - Montsegur, every time he QC checks an analysis, so I'll leave this here for now, and come back to edit it with the new beefed up C&C, along with any other changes you might have made. Sound good?

This was never finished and needs a full revamp making Mega rupt the primary focus.
