XY RU Braviary and friends

Hello, I actually decided to build an RU team around one of my favourite Pokemon since the 5th G : Braviary. I tested this team and I think it needs some improvements, I decided to make an RMT to receive some tips.

Braviary (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 212 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
- Roost

Like I told, this guy is the main mon of my team. He can easily set up with Bulk Up behind an Alomomola or a Gligar. Substitue protects Braviary against status problems and Roost recovers him from Substitue damage and Brave Bird recoil damage. Brave Bird is a good STAB move. Defiant also helps to set up Braviary. The EV speard is great for absorb some special attacks.

slowking.gif

Slowking @ Choice Specs
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
- Trick
- Scald
- Fire Blast
-Psyshock

Slowking helps me to take out Rock and Steel type mons. Trick allow me to ruin stall mons like Cresselia. Scald is a great STAB move and it can also burn some mons to make easy Braviary's set up. Fire Blast is for Escavalier and Pasyshock is for touch special walls like Amoonguss. Regenarator heals him a little and Choice Specs give hime some extra power.

cobalion.gif

Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 160 HP / 96 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Close Combat

This guy has two benefits for my team : Taunt and his Justified, his ability. Taunt helps to stop SR leads or SetUp mons while Justified can give an attack boost when this guy is hitted by dark type attacks that Slowking can lure. Stealth Rock is also a great move because it can take down some mons little by little and it also lures Defog for boost my Braviary. Finally, i choosed Close combat for hit hard some frail mons and Volt Switch for damage the opponent while get a momentum.

dugtrio.gif

Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Memento

This thing is really usefull beacause it can trap eletric type mons like Choice Specs Jolteon and finish them with Earthquake or Sucker Punch. He can also Revenge Kill some frail Pokemons. Stone Edge is here for make the EdgeQuake combo. When he became useless, i can use Memento to help Braviary or ruin boosts. Choice Band gives him great boost.

eelektross.gif

Eelektross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Volt Switch

Thanks to AV, he can check some electric type mons like LO Jolteon or Heliolisk. He can also absorb T-Wave and some special attacks. Volt Switch is great for trap some mons with Dugtrio or just get out of the game safely while TB can hit hard some mons. Giga Drain is for ground type mons and Flamethrower finishes Grass and Steel type mons.

hitmontop.gif

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Foresight
- Toxic

I finally needed an EH remover and i choosed 'montop because he has Rapid Spin for remove them. Foresight can be usefull for ruin spinblockers or hit some mons like Doublade with Close Combat. Finally, Toxic ruins stallers at setup mons. Intimidate can also help Braviary for setting up against psyshical attackers and it can also help to ruin some Sword Dancers.

i hope receive some tips for upgrade this team. Sorry for my bad English, I am French. And, it's my first RMT, don't be rude please.

I would maybe run sash or life orb on dug trio over choice band as he is pretty frail and both give you the ability to switch up moves. Eg if you get low on health you can use memento rather than having to switch out or be locked into earthquake. Other than that, nice team :)

Hey dude, pretty interesting team. However, there are definitely some ways you could make it better

First off, i agree with TheJayKay that i'd use an item other than Choice Band on Dugtrio. The extra power is appreciated, but from my experience Dugtrio really hates being locked into a move, choice locked EQ is semi easy to take advantage of by threats such as Moltres, Virizion, opposing Braviary, and Fletchinder, and non STAB Stone Edge/Sucker Punch are pretty weak even with the Choice Band boost (and being locked into Sucker Punch is never a good thing imo), making it easy for Pokemon such as Cobalion to set up on them. Because of this, i suggest Life Orb Dugtrio. Life Orb still gives Dugtrio a sizable power boost, but also gives it the freedom to switch moves if it needs to so it can stop scenarios like that.

Something else i noticed is that you have no safe switch in to Hitmonlee. If Hitmonlee is able to switch in after a KO or something, you're pretty much forced to sacrifice something with your current build. Cobalion and Dugtrio can revenge kill it in theory, but both are kinda vulnerable to Mach Punch if they take too much prior damage (dugtrio takes upwards of 80% x.x). Because of this, i'd suggesting giving Gligar over Hitmontop some thought. Gligar is still quite the reliable hazard clearer thanks to Defog, easily checks Hitmonlee, and should have no problem taking on most of the physical attackers that you were using Hitmontop for before. On top of all that, Gligar has access to U-turn to help you grab momentum, and it's able to force more than enough switches to do so effectively thanks to its amazing physical bulk.

Lastly, i could see Swords Dance Virizion being slightly annoying if it gets a set up opportunity, especially if you choose to use Gligar, so i'd suggest trying out Aerial Ace somewhere on Dugtrio if you ever feel like you're struggling with it a bit. With Aerial Ace on Dugtrio it can easily revenge kill Virizion, stopping it from doing too much damage to your team. If you decided to use Gligar, simply switching into it on the Swords Dance, taking a hit, and U-turning out into Dugtrio would give you an easy way around it.

hope i helped!

Alternatively, you can try Acrobatics Gligar, which surprises Virizion with a near-OHKO (at 55 BP) while easily tanking all of its moves; this is especially good as Gligar is frequently targeted with Knock Off, which powers up its Acrobatics. This change would leave you free to run Stealth Rock on Dugtrio, as it does not need its last moveset and can usually trap a mon and then set up SR before going down. Then, you could run Calm Mind Cobalion, which excellently lures in Doublade, a mild problem for your team, and gives you a secondary win condition. A minor change is Knock Off > Thunderbolt on AV Eelektross; Knock Off gives you a better chance vs. common 'mons like Gligar, and can wear down Pokemon like SpDef Druddigon better. Finally, I recommend Assault Vest Slowking. This serves three purposes on your team; it acts as a phaser, solidifying your team against threats like CM Reuniclus (you're still very weak to CM Psychics though), checks Moltres far better, and the fact that you're running two Assault Vest pokemon annoys Molk :)

Other Options:
- Taunt Gligar: A pretty cool set I like to run; acts like a pseudo-stallbreaker, helping out against CM Psychics, Virizion, and more. Adding this would mean you have to use your current Cobalion set as well as Aerial Ace Dugtrio, however, so beware!
- Choice Scarf Rotom-C > Eelektross: Trick helps out against stall teams, and the Scarf also makes it a revenge killer, something you currently lack. However, AV Eelektross gives you a flying-type resist as well as helping you out more vs. Moltres.

Great team man, and good luck!
