CrimsonBlastoise here with my first post and an RMT of my first NU team created. This team took me to around 40th place with a rating In the mid 1500's on the showdown NU ladder. This was pretty good for me considering I'm new to NU and singles as a whole and I also never changed the team from when It was made. As you can see this Is a rain offence team and just focuses around getting up the rain and sweeping with Ludicolo and Kabutops.
Team Analysis

Perez Hilton (Volbeat) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Encore
- Baton Pass
- Rain Dance
- Tail Glow
My first team member Is Volbeat and decided to use him when I looked through potential rain setters. Volbeat has a pretty good move set for support, and with the ability prankster ensures that I always get to set up rain with damp rock ensuring the rain stays around for 8 turns, which Is enough time for my sweepers. The spread was just a standard spread with 252HP and 252Speed because I wanted to out speed other Pranksters and maybe lock them Into a useless move with Encore, I think bulk would have been a better choice though. The moveset was Encore to stop people from setting up with mons like Slurpuff and Feraligatr or from stopping hazard setters as I would just encore them Into that move until they switch. Tail Glow and Baton Pass was a combo I used to get free special attack after I encore my opponent so I can pass It Into Ludicolo and sweep or even rarely Kabutops or Mesprit. Rain Dance Is for obvious reason's explained above and because this Is a rain team.

Mirror B (Ludicolo) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Focus Blast
This was my first rain sweeper that was added to the team since Ludicolo has decent special attack and can sweep under the rain. I used 252 Special Attack with a Modest nature to do as much damage as I can, Life Orb was not needed In my opinion as It shortens my sweep, and I wanted to keep It around for longer since It still dishes out heavy damage without life orb and Volbeat can assist It with Tail Glow. I went with 252Speed to outspeed a lot of stuff In the rain even some scarfers and decided not to go with a timid nature as It was not needed. The moveset I used was just dual stab with Ice Beam/Hydro Pump for coverage. Ludicolo does not get any better attack's than these and need's to run 4 attack's since I am running Assault Vest, The vest Is good because It allow's me to just come In and tank pokemon like Typhlosion and Special Sceptile and OHKO In return. I'm thinking about whether Leftovers would have been a better choice.

Hybrid (Kabutops) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Giga Drain
- Rapid Spin
My second sweeper was Kabutops. He hit's very hard with a Life Orb and a 252Atk Naive nature. You may be thinking why I'm running Giga Drain on Kabutops, but It allows me to 2HKO most Seismitoads which would normally wall this set. I understand that Seismitoad can OHKO In return and I decided not to run enough Investment to OHKO after stealth rocks because the loss of attack or speed was not worth the special attack boost. I used Rapid Spin over Aqua Jet because I knew not much would be outspeeding In rain and my team was In need of a way to get rid of hazards especially If they set up Toxic Spikes on my side of the field.

Rhydin (Rhydon) @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Megahorn
Rhydon was added as a stealth rock setter that could also absorb electric attacks, It's also a physical attacker sponge as It can tank hits pretty well with Eviolite and 120 base defense and still hits back hard In return with the 3 attacks and Adamant nature. The ability did not really matter as they all would have been useless on this Rhydon. I went with max HP over Speed because It's not out speeding much with 40 base speed and the HP Is needed when I'm using It as a wall. Earthquake and Stone Edge were just added for the double stab and Megahorn was added Instead of Hammer Arm for coverage and to hit the grass types that threaten Rhydon.

Kelis (Miltank) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sap Sipper
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Hammer Arm
- Ice Punch
- Punishment
Choice Band Miltank was a last minute choice and too my surprise Is extremely powerful. I originally added It for sap sipper support so I could switch Into grass type attacks since many people don't expect It, But I decided to take advantage of sap sipper and make an offensive Miltank. Also Ludicolo cannot switch Into physical Sceptile while It can switch Into the special variant and It's basically the other way around with Miltank. It can also switch In on Spore/Sleep Powder and get a boost, this set completely counters Lilligant, unless It's running HP Fighting and has a lot of Quiver Dances set up. I was suprised to see that Miltank Is incredibly fast and can outspeed a lot of NU mons. I went for straight power with my moveset first starting with Double Edge for stab instead of Body Slam since Double Edge gets a lot of OHKOs that Body Slam fails to get. Hammer Arm is for other bulky normal types that can resist Double Edge and rock types. Ice Punch was for coverage and hits grass types that think they can stay In after sap sipper boost, Although Double Edge will probably finish them It's better to have a non recoil method. Punishment took the final move slot and Is for ghost types that think they can switch in to be Immune stuff like Mismagius.

TeamPlayer (Mesprit) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Gentle Nature
- Rain Dance
- Healing Wish
- Knock Off
- Psyshock
The last moveslot went to Mesprit as my second rain setter. The reason why Mesprit got this spot over Uxie was because of the move Healing Wish.It Is holding a damp rock to maximize the rain turns like Volbeat. I made It specially Defensive so it could somewhat act as the other half of Rhydon. Healing Wish was to keep sweeps alive when I have a pokemon I need that Is my win condition and Is also at a low health I just healing wish Into them, It also lets Kabutops be more risky and switch Into Toxic Spikes to spin them away. It would have been perfect If It got Defog but sadly It doesn't. Knock Off Is always a good move and just a filler to get rid of the opponents Items. It has psyshock for stab and to do heavy damage to Dragalge which gives me some problems.
Threat list
I have not used this team In about 2 weeks and have bad memory so I do not remember everything.

That's all I have to say about this team, Any feedback will be helpful.
