Teambuilding

Sorry, we only accept new articles or stuff that has not been visible to the public eyes yet. Please finish writing that article so that it can go on-site instead, it even has art prepared for it.

Sorry, I don't understand. You mean I should submit this article approval AFTER I'm done with the article, right? What's that about the art?

Articles aren't re-used. Either you write for Articles & Letters, or you make an article for The SMog, it cannot be featured in both locations. But as the article has already been in the works in the former area for months, I'd suggest finishing the article there instead of taking it to The Smog.

This article application has resulted in some discussion among us Smog staff members regarding our policy of featuring articles in either A&L or The Smog or both. We'll get back to you.

Still going on, sorry for the wait. But regardless of what decision we'll make, the article will be featured either on-site or in The Smog (or both, hence our discussion), so you're free to continue working on it.

Can't see any development in that other article (or is there a different thread for it now), but since no one has replied with anything new in our other discussion, we've decided to allow C&C articles in The Smog too. Are you still writing this?

Yes, I am still writing this. What happened to the other thread, by the way? Not sure why you locked it...

Also, may I be informed about deadlines for the next article?

Locked it for reasons that I stated in the last post, as the thread had been inactive for quite some time, and honestly, I'd prefer if you chose to complete this article before moving on to Mind Over Matter, since both are broad subjects.

In order for you to work on your article, I've now given you access to our workshop. Here's a general message we give all new writers:

1) Get your stuff done on time. If there's ever a situation that comes up, talk with The Smog Staff, and we'll make accommodations. The key here is communication; we need to hear from you if something is up that will prevent you from meeting the deadline. Try to get your stuff done in two weeks if possible, in order to give the GP/HTML/art team time to get everything done.

2) Don't leak any of our stuff until the release happens. This includes art and any other information. If you ever want feedback on your work or have questions, you can join us in #thesmog on IRC (if you don't have IRC, you can PM me or another staffer on the forums and I'll give you a link).

If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask The Smog Staff. When you post your thread in the Article Workshop, you need to set labels for it. You'll need to set the issue's number too. For the tags that say WIP, Grammar, etc, those are the stages your article are in. Since you'll ideally be working on the article after posting your thread, mark it as WIP. When you finish, move it to Grammar and get it checked twice by other people. Afterward is the HTML stage and someone will put it into HTML code. Your article will eventually get art done for it and it'll be complete!
Our next deadline is by January 7th, so about two weeks from now. If you have any further questions about how to set things up, let us know.
