I have been using this set for Thundurus with huge success. It works kinda like the popular gengar set, but can tear through suicune and catch chansey with superpower. Almost everything I have experienced is ohko or an easy 2hko. Thundurus can also take 1-2 hits from bird spam and retaliate

Sheer Force Gengar defeats Suicune and Chansey (with Taunt) too, but Sheer Force is indeed a good ability for Thundurus. I am pretty sure that Thundurus can not avoid the OHKO from a banded Brave Bird (Honchkrow, Braviary, Starapor) though, since it barely survives one from Talonflame.

Thundurus does not get OHKO'ed from any of those birds at max attack. The damage calc isn't working right now... but a max attack banded brave bird from raptor only does about 75% to Thundurus, which then he can retailate for the KO.

Fair enough. Potential KO's after stealth rocks though, so I would not rely on it lol.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Refrigerate

Adamant Nature

- Earthquake

While it's certainly not creative, Zygarde is still severely underrated. It easily sets up all over both offense and stall, and almost effortlessly sweeps once skarm is out of the picture. refrigerate Extremespeed kills birds and grass types, while Earthquake kills everything else. Simple set, but still very effective.

Delta Stream Phys. Def Zapdos with HP Ice deals with this, I think. (And yes, I once ran that specifically to deal with Dragon Dance/Coil Zygarde.)

This could actually be considered; Chatot is basically a complete luck-based pokemon. Sure there's some skill involved, but that's pretty much just spamming chatter, knowing when to encore/set up, and that's really it.

In fact, I'd like to compare Chatot to one of the banned abilities: Moody. Moody wasn't banned for being cheap; it was banned because if your opponent got lucky, you could almost do nothing about it besides bringing out a Clefable or something and hoping they can't hit you. Chatot follows a similar vein:

1) Moody is completely based on RNG. Chatot is completely based off RNG. Get a few confusions and you're pretty much screwed as it nasty plots to +6 and sweeps you, or takes out half your team
2) Most of the time, Moody isn't even that good. A lot of the time, Chatot isn't that good either. But when you get unlucky, well, there's literally nothing stopping them from sweeping.
3) Once moody gets out of hand, you pretty much have to rely on unaware to beat it. Of course, unaware will usually beat it. Same goes for chatot; you pretty much have to rely on soundproof to beat it once you get really unlucky.

Basically, it's not just one of those "salt" suspects; I can actually see a reason for this to be banned.

It was the best bird spam killer, and the most annoying toxic staller ever. I stopped using it because it can easily be countered but it was extremely fun and caused many rage quits! It followed me to top 5 on the ladder once

On a side note, I support a Chatot ban completely. Yes it is frail and dies to pretty much any attack, but most carry focus sashes, so thats 2 luck based turns you have to break through. I am against keeping something in the metagame that is only based on luck.

The thing is, toxic stalling is a lot less relevant in AAA. And if you want to break birdspam, regen doublade has more bulk, and some offensive presence.

Hey, why did you choose air lock for Star? Delta stream does its duty, and more for a flyer.
 
Except that Delta stream also has the air lock effect, so if you want Air lock, and are using a flying type, just go with Delta stream. There's no reason not to

As those that have been playing recently will know, there has been a huge amount of usage of Curse snorlax. I guess people are finally catching on to how good it is lol. Anyway, I've been using a strange chesnaught set that can counter it, as I have found that sd gale wings skarmory actually does not, thanks to recoil from brave bird. I don't want to use unaware, as my team is based around gale wings skarmory, so used a strange chesnaught set designed to counter it.

Bulk up, while kind of pointless for anything else, gives Chesnaught the ability to setup alongside snorlax and then beat it at +6 with drain punches. It's pretty gimmicky, and the only reason I'm using it is because I can't use gourgiest without getting 6-0'd by Bisharp. Just thought I would share because I wanted to get actual discussion up again. (I'm now using unaware because I realized that it is better.)Also, how are people dealing with curse snorlax? The only things I see are gourgiest, levitate ghosts that setup alongside it like doublade, and random things like this.

If it's a Curse Snorlax with Poison Heal, my current plan (though I've not yet had to test it) is Prankster physically-defensive Ferrothorn. How? Let the foe sit there for a while, then hit 'em with Worry Seed and watch the Toxic damage drop them in one turn.

That is genius. I think it would have to be unaware though, or else it can just boost up to +4 and 2hko you.

Yeah, I'd been using Unaware Ferro before. Prankster lets it Leech Seed stall fire-types though (which is funny), and the previous Unaware Ferrothorn set I'd been using didn't have Worry Seed, so I hadn't thought to try the combination. Nice suggestion though. I like it.

Edit: Wait what am I saying? Using Prankster, I can just SubSeed you as you boost and then Worry Seed you later.

There's a lot of stupid ways to deal with snorlax.
Trick + berry that cures statues deals with ph pokemons in general.
If you like stupidly powerfull stuff, a sun boosted choice specs eruption from heatran at full health ohkoe's max Sdef / 4hp snorlax.
Running taunt on your skarmory should do the trick too.
Unaware cresselia can boost alongside it, and if the snorlax isn't 252+att unaware crocune too.
Chatot also usualy beats my snorlax 1v1.

But overall a strong phisical attack should do the trick.

And wow, pangoose, so much set up in that battle it's unbelieveable.

Edit: since I mentioned heatran, offensive tran is usually chlorotran, but I've seen someone use a desolate land specs tran and I thought it was a pretty good idea. Better than camerupt imo.
Edit 2: As anyone tried an infiltrator subseeding shaymin S. It seems really gimmicky but I was thinking about it when i needed a breloom check/counter but completely forgot about it.
