I feel like comparing Sableye to Infernape isn't a just comparison, since they are vastly different Pokemon when it comes to being Prankster users. Infernape falls in line more with Thundurus and to a certain degree Tornadus. Offensive Pokemon who can utilize status and Taunt with Prankster. Also, more in line with Thundurus, it can safely boost at least once without fear of Taunt, and with it's myriad of boosting moves such as Calm Mind or Bulk Up, it makes it a versatile Pokemon. The only real similarities to Sableye that Infernape has is that it has Prankster Slack Off, Taunt, and W-o-W, but its closer to Thundurus in the roles it can play in a team.
What i was saying is that prankster doesn't improve a lot nape's capabilities as an offensive lead because it already beats more or less every non-scarfed lead, or at least every other rock setter in the tier, except being tied by kion. I don't think it can be used like thundy, because thundurus has a much better defensive typing and decent bulk, while nape can't really afford switching in on even neutral or resisted attacks, unless you run wow recover sableye shit which is what i was talking about

Seems like a loser slate, My input on it

Sticky Web Fortress- This one is still lack luster. Its a god with how it can stack so many entry hazards, but whats the point when it dies so easily. its Special Defense is awful, it eats up all the momentum you would have, and it can't do much outside of stacking hazards. This ones already been discussed, yes it has volt switch, but a very weak and by the time you're volt switching out, your opponent will already have nabbed a boost and will proceed to punch holes in your team. Fortress wasn't ranked because it doesn't thrive in OU, and Sticky Web doesn't help it.

Lightning Rod Empoleon- This one i think will be the clear winner. Any pokemon relying on BoltBeam coverage gets shit on by this guy, bar focus blast Thunderus. It can run agility sets, after getting to plus one on a switch, and hit hard back considering it has 111 SpA witch can be boosted with a life orb. You can even run defensive sets with Empoleons above average bulk. Its support move pool also helps with moves like Sneaky Pebbles Stealth Rocks, defog, roar, toxic. if not it can just spread scald burns, which is always a pain. This one has my vote.

Regenerator Florges- This thing is just a pain, especially considering it has Synthesis now for a more reliable recovery. Florges isn't so bulky on the physical side, but its 154 Special Defense is more than enough to tank a few hits. This thing would be pretty annoying to face, considering it has some sort of offensive presence in 112 SpA, so its not as passive as Trolomamola. But it doesn't provide wish support well with its low HP stat, and its physical defense is very low, so it will easily die. Partner this up with slowbro and/or Amoongus and you the most annoying regen core in the Tier. Im very mixed about this one cause it makes balanced play styles too damn good.

Prankster Infernape- I don't feel like i need to go too in depth with this one since it was on the last slate, but ill do it anyway. Infernape should just be a mixed Wallbreaker. its stats are not the best, but for mixed wall breaker gets the job done with his coverage moves. If you wants a defensive prankster, use Sablyeye, an offensive Prankster, Thunderus. Prankster Rocks are nice, but he usually gets them up as a suicide lead anyway since he outspeeds most of the none scarfed tier. WOW isn't a nice as a status move as T-Wave cause T-Wave messes with any pokemon that needs its speed to sweep, if you burn a Special sweeper, it can still do its job in breaking your team or cleaning up late game. This guy just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Hey guys, just a quick update, unfixable will be joining the council again, so congrats to him!

Anyways, I just want to say some stuff on Prankster Infernape. I feel like people are giving it too little credit, and there have been some arguments on it that I disagree with. First, while it does have a great Speed tier (keep in mind people are using this argument to prove that Prankster is just unnecessary, keep in mind that the speed creep has gone up considerably with the new mega evolutions and whatnot (right now, 'fast' is considered 110+), so Infernape will rarely be able to actually make use of its support moves before it actually goes down. Of course, Infernape still outspeeds a great portion of the meta - don't interpret it otherwise. Not to mention, Liepard is even faster than Infernape, and it does its job well with Prankster as well in RU/NU. As a matter of fact, Prankster means that Infernape will be moving first so much that in result it can freely invest in bulk. Anyways, I also think people are underestimating its bulk. After a Will-O-Wisp, it becomes significantly more bulky on the physical side, and its special side can be patched up with investment. Does anyone ever happen to compare it Sableye? That thing had even lower Special Defense, and it STILL did its job incredibly well. And Infernape isn't exactly short on support options; it's got Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Slack Off, Stealth Rock, and more (these were just off the top of my head), and the very former lets it be an amazing Stallbreaker and anti-lead. This thing will probably get my vote, it simply is just much better now.

Congrats Unfixable, good to see you're back <3
To make this not a one lined post, my vote will probably go to Infernape too if I end up voting. (No matter how much I hate Prankster.) It would probably be the best anti lead Poke since it's got great offensive stats and the like. I've kind of changed my mind about it, since its other two abilities aren't too helpful anyways. It still has a really bad typing though, and that's something that will certainly hinder it.
I don't really no what else to say since Mysteria has pretty much said everything I was going to, haha.

Uhm, that is what i want to avoid. If i vote for nape it's because i like it as anti-lead for offensive teams, i don't want another prankster that spreads cancer with its priority status and recovery. Prankster is obviously helpful, but i don't think its anti-lead capabilities are improved a lot because while the meta has become faster, nape still outspeed every common lead that doesn't have a scarf. I'm not totally sure it can do sableye's role the same way sableye did because yeah it has similar bulk, but sableye had only one weakness while nape is weak to common attacks like water ground and flying.

Seconding what Salemance said. We were just finalizing the slate before we started voting.

Okay you guys...

Our slate this week, if you have miraculously forgotten, is as follows…

  • Infernape + Prankster (credit goes to Albacore )

  • Empoleon + Lightningrod (credit goes to Dilasc )

  • Forretress + Sticky Web

  • Florges + Regenerator (credit goes to Dilasc )

Please remember to bold your votes like the following:

Infernape + Prankster

Happy voting!!!

Lightningrod Empoleon

Do we really want a mischevious Monkey that does not even have what it takes to face punishment for its actions? That spends more time slacking off than fighting back against those it angers?

Vote for Empoleon. He has worked to gain an ability, overcoming an old weakness to defend his teammates from Shock and terror, they no longer need to be paralyzed with fear.

Really tough choice between Nape and Empoleon. In the end, though, while I think Empoleon is cooler and really like the Lightningrod buff, I think Infernape would have a bigger impact on OU. So, I'm going to vote for...

Infernape + Prankster

Hogg I expect you to abuse your baby privileges again.

I'm at work right now, so I can't do a Theorymon-specific photo, but here was Hogg Jr.'s reaction when I explained that Multiscale Milotic won the last slate:

EDIT: Good god, sorry all. That picture did not look so friggin' massive from my phone. I just got onto a desktop and I was assaulted with a picture of my baby that might be larger than the actual baby. Resizing now.
