Overview
########
Although Diggersby might not look impressive with its generally low stats, its great ability Huge Power doubles its Attack stat, making it a great wallbreaker. Immunities to Ghost- and Electric-type attacks give it opportunities to set up and an immunity to Thunder Wave. Access to great boosting moves in Swords Dance and Agility and surprisingly great STAB coverage backed up by the elemental punches and Knock Off make Diggersby a fearsome Pokemon that all teams should prepare for. However, Diggersby is not without flaws; weaknesses to common Grass-, Ice-, and Fighting-type moves make it somewhat hard for Diggersby to effectively sweep. Lackluster Speed and bad bulk also hold Diggersby back, as it is easily revenge killed by anything that can survive a Quick Attack. Fast Pokemon such as Mega Metagross make this flaw noticeable. Diggersby's weaknesses to common priority moves such as Aqua Jet, Mach Punch, and Ice Shard are also annoying for it.

Swords Dance
########
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Return
move 4: Quick Attack
ability: Huge Power
item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========
Swords Dance boosts Diggersby's already high Attack stat to even greater levels and makes it a great wallbreaker that can sweep slow or weakened teams as well. Earthquake is Diggersby's best STAB move, hitting five types for super effective damage and being quite spammable in general. Return is a secondary STAB move that has good neutral coverage with Earthquake, as it hits most Pokemon that are immune to Ground very hard. Quick Attack is a mandatory priority attack, because without it Diggersby fares very badly against offensive teams.

Set Details
========
252 Attack EVs maximize the damage Diggersby can do. 252 Speed EVs let Diggersby outspeed most defensive Pokemon, allowing it to hit them before they can inflict status or attack it. A Life Orb is the preferred item to hit even harder while still being able to switch moves, but a Focus Sash can prevent Diggersby from being revenge killed or help it set up against offensive teams. It also makes Diggersby a pretty effective lead that can do a lot of damage right off the bat and potentially get some surprise KOs. An Adamant nature is preferred to do as much damage as possible and thus maximize Diggersby's wallbreaking potential. A Jolly nature can, however, be used to improve Diggersby's matchup against offensive teams by making it capable of outspeeding Breloom, Jolly Bisharp, Adamant Excadrill, most Mew variants, Timid Heatran, Adamant Dragonite, Adamant Gyarados, and Jolly Mega Tyranitar, among others.

Usage Tips
========
This set works best early- or mid-game to weaken or just defeat walls for teammates to sweep later. Do not set up on anything offensive except for Choice-locked Electric- or Ghost-types, because with Diggersby's bulk it simply won't work, unless it has a Focus Sash. It is, however, easy to set up on passive Pokemon such as Chansey. A +2 Return 2HKOes Skarmory after Stealth Rock damage, and a +2 Quick Attack can OHKO or come close to OHKOing a lot of offensive Pokemon, including Mega Sceptile, Mega Gallade, Thundurus, and Tornadus-T. Even without a Swords Dance boost, a Life Orb-boosted Quick Attack can revenge kill less bulky Pokemon.

Team Options
========
Skarmory is Swords Dance Diggersby's best check on defensive teams, so Magnezone is a great teammate to remove it. Mega Pinsir and Diggersby weaken each other's counters and checks, and together with Magnezone they form a great core. If using this core, teammates with Knock Off are necessary because Skarmory always has a Shed Shell to escape from Magnezone. Examples of these would be Azumarill, Bisharp, Mamoswine, and Scizor. Pokemon that can switch into Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, and Ice Shard users such as Breloom, Crawdaunt, and Mamoswine are good teammates. Examples of these are Azumarill, Mega Venusaur, and Keldeo. While not necessary, Pursuit support from Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Weavile is useful to remove Gengar, which hard counters this set. Healing Wish support is amazing, as it lets Diggersby get a second attempt at sweeping. With it, Diggersby can wallbreak for itself early-game, and then clean up late-game. Latias is easily the best user of Healing Wish.

Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Return
move 3: Knock Off / Wild Charge
move 4: U-turn
ability: Huge Power
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========
Earthquake is Diggersby's primary STAB move and the move it should be using the most outside of U-turn. Return is a secondary STAB move that hits a lot of Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Earthquake, and it is one of the reasons to use Choice Scarf Diggersby over Choice Scarf Landorus-T, the other reason being access to Wild Charge to hit Skarmory with. Knock Off hits Gengar, which is immune to both of Diggersby's STAB moves, as well as the occasional Bronzong, and is a generally good utility move with which to remove items, most notably Shed Shell from Skarmory. Wild Charge removes the need to Knock Off Skarmory's Shed Shell, as Diggersby has a good chance of 2HKOing Skarmory on the switch with Stealth Rock up. U-turn is mandatory to take advantage of any switches Diggersby causes to gain momentum. It also OHKOes Celebi, which can survive a Return.

Set Details
========
252 Attack EVs maximize Diggersby's damage output. 252 Speed EVs let Diggersby outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame with a Choice Scarf, with the few relevant exceptions being Mega Alakazam, Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Beedrill, and Mega Sceptile. A Jolly nature is preferred to outspeed Mega Lopunny, Mega Manectric, and some slower Choice Scarf users such as Magnezone and Tyranitar. An Adamant nature is definitely viable though if your team does not struggle with those Pokemon, because Diggersby still outspeeds Tornadus-T and the majority of the metagame. A Choice Scarf is the chosen item for this set, as it makes Diggersby capable of outspeeding a lot of offensive threats.

Usage Tips
========
Diggersby does not like being locked into either one of its STAB moves, so predict well and use U-turn a lot to prevent it from becoming setup fodder for a foe such as Mega Sableye or Landorus and to wear down Diggersby's checks and counters so it can clean up late-game with its powerful moves. With a Choice Scarf, Diggersby can be a decent revenge killer, but it is not exactly the best choice for this role, because its Speed is still not high enough to revenge kill Speed-boosting sweepers such as Gyarados and Mega Altaria, and it is defeated by strong priority attacks from Pokemon such as Azumarill and Dragonite.

Team Options
========
If using Wild Charge, this set baits Skarmory pretty well, so Pokemon that appreciate it being weakened or removed, such as Excadrill, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Metagross, are good teammates. Other Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Raikou and Talonflame can form a VoltTurn core with Diggersby and keep the momentum on your side. Entry hazard setters such as Heatran, Mamoswine, and Ferrothorn force foes to take hazard damage every time they switch in, making them easier to wear down for Diggersby to clean up late-game. As Choice Scarf Diggersby fails to revenge kill Speed-boosting sweepers, Pokemon such as Thundurus and Talonflame are good partners to revenge kill them instead. Powerful wallbreakers such as Kyurem-B, Mega Heracross, and Mega Pinsir can help soften up the opposing team for Diggersby to clean up. Magnezone is an obvious teammate that can remove Skarmory, one of Diggersby's best checks, once Skarmory's Shed Shell has been Knocked Off.

All-Out Attacker
########
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Return
move 3: Fire Punch / Knock Off
move 4: Quick Attack
ability: Huge Power
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========
Earthquake is Diggersby's best and most spammable STAB move, hitting five types for super effective damage and hitting a lot of other ones for neutral damage. Return is a secondary STAB move that hits a lot of Pokemon that Earthquake does not hit for neutral damage hard, such as Zapdos, Chesnaught, and Talonflame. Fire Punch 2HKOes Skarmory on the switch, OHKOes standard Ferrothorn, and has a decent chance to 2HKO Chesnaught if Diggersby is using an Adamant nature, but Jolly Diggersby needs Stealth Rock up to 2HKO Skarmory. Knock Off hits Ghost-types, most notably Gengar, which is immune to both Earthquake and Return, for super effective damage. It also has the added benefit of removing Skarmory's Shed Shell. Quick Attack is a necessary priority move to threaten the plethora of faster attackers in the tier, such as Latios, Thundurus, and Keldeo.

Set Details
========
252 Attack EVs maximize Diggersby's wallbreaking potential. 252 Speed EVs allow Diggersby to outspeed most defensive Pokemon and some slower offensive ones such as Bisharp. An Adamant nature is preferred because it helps Diggersby KO walls such as Hippowdon and Slowbro. A Jolly nature is definitely an option, however, because it improves Diggersby's matchup against offensive teams by allowing it to outspeed threats such as Breloom and Adamant Excadrill, as well as Metagross before and on the turn it Mega Evolves. Life Orb is the best item for this set, because without it Diggersby fails to break through a lot of walls.

Usage Tips
========
An all-out attacking set is not really common, so the extra coverage can surprise Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Gengar and OHKO both with the appropriate move. Try to lure them in and OHKO them. Don't make Diggersby take more residual damage than you need to, because it's already getting worn down fast enough with Life Orb recoil. This set requires careful prediction to work.

Team Options
========
This set lures in and deals with common answers to the most popular Swords Dance set pretty well, so Pokemon that appreciate the removal of Gengar, Skarmory, and others are nice team options. Examples would be Mega Metagross, Mega Pinsir, and most Fighting-types in general. Ghost-types, most notably Gengar as it fits the best in the team archetypes Diggersby is usually found in, pair well with Diggersby, covering its Fighting-type weakness while Diggersby covers their Ghost-type weakness. They can also potentially take care of opposing Ghost-types that trouble Diggersby. Fairy-types such as Azumarill and Mega Gardevoir have nice offensive synergy with Diggersby, because Diggersby hits Steel-, Poison-, and Fire-types which resist their STAB moves, while they can cover its Fighting-type weakness; Azumarill covers its Ice-type weakness too. They can also defeat Mega Sableye and Fighting-types, which check Diggersby. Tailwind support, while not necessary, is very helpful to outspeed almost anything on offensive teams. Good users of this move are Mew, Talonflame, Latios, and Zapdos. If using Knock Off over Fire Punch, Magnezone is a great teammate because it can remove Skarmory, one of Diggersby's best checks, from the game once Diggersby has Knocked Off its Shed Shell.

Other Options
########
A double dance set with Agility, Swords Dance, Earthquake, and Return could be used, but although Diggersby has good STAB coverage to make it work, it lacks the bulk to effectively pull it off without dual screens support. A Choice Band set could be used with the same moves as the Choice Scarf set, but it's mostly outclassed as a wallbreaker by the Swords Dance set. Diggersby can use an offensive Spikes set that takes advantage of the switches it forces to lay down Spikes and wear the opponent down. Ice Punch can be used to lure in and OHKO offensive variants of Landorus-T, while defensive variants come very close to getting OHKOed. However, variants with no HP or Defense investment already get 2HKOed by Return anyway, which is why Ice Punch is not a preferred option. Substitute is a useful move to protect Diggersby from status and could be used over Swords Dance, Fire Punch, or Knock Off. Jolly Diggersby can easily set up a Substitute on Pokemon such as Mega Sableye, Ferrothorn, and Mew, but the move requires it to hold Leftovers for longevity, limiting Diggersby's offensive capabilities.

Checks & Counters
########

**Ghost-types**: As it is immune to Diggersby's STAB moves, Gengar can freely switch in against the Swords Dance set and do whatever it wants. It also puts a lot of pressure on the Choice Scarf set because Gengar gets free switches against Diggersby's STAB moves. Mega Sableye cannot safely switch in against Diggersby, but if it has not yet Mega Evolved, it can burn Diggersby with a priority Will-O-Wisp and proceed to stall it out.

**Strong Priority Attacks**: Because of Diggersby's lackluster bulk, it struggles to survive strong priority attacks such as Crawdaunt and Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Mamoswine and Weavile's Ice Shard, Breloom and Conkeldurr's Mach Punch, and Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave Bird.

**Faster Pokemon**: Fast Pokemon that resist Quick Attack, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Choice Scarf Heatran, and Choice Scarf Tyranitar, can take a +2 Quick Attack pretty well and KO Diggersby rather easily in return. It should be noted that Diggersby's Choice Scarf set actually outspeeds the latter two and takes care of them very easily with a STAB Earthquake.

**Defensive Pokemon**: Although Diggersby breaks through a lot of walls, there are some defensive Pokemon Diggersby struggles with. Base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mew and Celebi can outspeed Diggersby and burn it or use Giga Drain, respectively. Landorus-T can switch into the all-out attacker and Choice Scarf sets and do huge damage back. Landorus-T is, however, not hard to wear down due to its lack of reliable recovery. Skarmory resists both of Diggersby's STAB moves, but it needs Counter to actually defeat it. Skarmory also fails to wall Fire Punch variants and can be trapped by Magnezone if its Shed Shell has been taken away. Physically defensive Mega Slowbro and Alomomola can also come in for free and can threaten Diggersby with Scald, though Alomomola cannot come in safely against Swords Dance Diggersby.

As in the previous analysis: no mention of Focus Sash on the SD set? It may lose a bit of power, but you have a much easier time sweeping offensiv teams, as they can't RK you with your sash intact. This is especially useful because Diggersby is immune to T-wave, which means it can't be stopped by Thundy/Klefli either.

Never used non life orb SD myself. I guess I'll add it because that does sound good.

Knock off>return, who says no?

A lot of flyers/levitators are beasted by it or dgaf about return; most notably it lets you hit gengar, plus smack Skarm around. Eq is a strong stab against most stuff anyhow

That said, sucks for loomer, lando, scor, rotom-w, mainly grass and knock off neutral flyers. Idk, someone else should make this decision but i'd like to get this discussion started

not qc obv, but may it be worth it to slash Jolly on the first set? It outspeeds Max Speed Adamant Mega Altaria before a Dragon Dance, which is quite useful. (Additionally, it outspeeds max speed Mega-Tyranitar, max Speed Metagross before Mega Evolving, and Jolly Bisharp, but I don't think these would stay in on Diggersby anyway). Without Jolly, it fails to outspeed those.

To add some stuff to my previous post (I'm not QC, so take with a grain of salt):
  • Healing Wish support is amazing, as it lets Diggersby get a second attempt at sweeping. It can wallbreak for itself early-game, then clear late-game.
  • This thing gets Spikes. I know it's pressed for moveslots, but it has so much offensive presence that it can easily set them up. Maybe mention in Moves/OO?
  • Haven't tested myself, but a full-out attacker set (maybe with Spikes) doesn't sound too bad. I'll do some testing and see if this works.
  • Maybe tell why you'd use Scarf Diggersby over Scarf Lando-T.

tehy I don't really agree with Knock Off over Return. Sure it hits Skarmory harder, but at +2 Return 2HKO's it anyway, and it makes it easier to get walled by other pokemon like Mandibuzz and Chesnaught. Skarmory is not even that common at the momenf too, and can be trapped by Magnezone. Admittedly Knock Off helps in trapping it by removing its Shed Shell, but it's meaningless when other stuff can wall it (similar case as Knock Off Pinsir). Better to just have teammates with Knock Off. It does lure and beat Gengar on the switch, but just like Skarmory, Gengar is not that common anymore due to Sableye-Mega being everywhere.

Soulblaster Yeah I'm definitely doing that. Losing like 20% of your power means bulky shit like hippo needs a little more prior damage, but it definitely helps against offense.

Tom08894 Will add these things and the rest when I come home :]

Add a lead set/big mention in oo:
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack
- Endeavor
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly

This is a pretty great lead for offensive teams, although somewhat eclipsed by infernape, still carves a niche by virtue of Knock Off and Quick Attack, both of which are boosted by huge power so that your priority isn't really weak. Maybe add U-turn in set details so that you can save it for fodder later but you really want every moveslot that you currently have. I have used this a lot and it has proven to me that it is indeed really good 80% of the time (pretty much based on lead matchup) but yeah it is very good.

I still don't see why you would use this as lead when you can lead with Garchomp, Infernape, Azelf, Klefki, or even Scolipede. I mean it's stronger than them, but I doubt it often gets to set up more than one Spike before dying, not to mention that the omnipresent M-Sableye completely walls this. Garchomp can use Lum Berry + Swords Dance to defeat M-Sableye, Infernape is immune to burns and resists Dark, making a set consisting of Taunt, Stealth Rocks, Nasty Plot / Swords Dance, Fire Blast/Flare Blitz a possibility, Azelf has Skill Swap to get rid of Magic Bounce, Klefki can at least hit it with STAB Fairy-type moves, and Scolipede can pass speed boosts to a Fire-type or something else that doesn't care about burns and potentially sweep.

Unique nich lies in Knock Off + The ability of Huge Power. Ofc, It faces competition frmo those, that's whwy it should be in OO :P

I'm still not convinced that is a good reason to use it. :I Azelf has Knock Off and Explosion to prevent Rapid Spin. Higher speed as well to prevent slower Taunts. I just don't understand why you would use this over a more effective suicide lead. Why would an outclassed set need to be added to OO? .-.
If someone from CQ tells me to add it then I will, but I'm not convinced of its viability.

as far as sets I go I would put all out attacker third if this is implemented. I also don't agree with knock off > return on the first set as tehy mentioned before. Return is pretty important for neutral hits on rotom-w, lando, and the likes. Knock Off is more suited to an all out attacker set and even then it's more team specific when you take into account an elemental punch such as Fire Punch is usually preferred to hit Skarmory. If an all out attacker set is implemented I would go with Life Orb / Lum Berry as the item slashes with the same spreads you have now for the SD set. I also don't agree with a lead Diggersby set but I do agree that Spikes should get a mention somewhere in the analysis.

I guess I will add an all out attacker set since although I never used one myself, I trust boltsandbombers and your judgement. I have mentioned an offensive Spikes set in OO already.

Mention Serperior in Checks & Counters now that it's viable; the Choice Scarf set fails to KO with Return (91% max), while even unboosted timid Serperior Leaf Storm OHKOs.

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Huge Power Diggersby Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Serperior: 230-270 (79 - 92.7%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Not sure if it's really worth adding if the only set it checks is the all out attacker set and the SD set before a boost (when looking at checks and counters for set up sweepers I usually take the boosts into account). The Choice Scarf set not OHKOing it at 100% is not really a big deal because it has a chance of KOing after just one LO damage (25%), and its guaranteed after rocks and one LO damage.

the 4 atks set needs the power afforded by life orb, also fire punch undoubtedly the best option imo as it 2hkoes skarm and ohkoes ferro/mega scizor while still hitting gengar plenty hard. knock off removes the shed shell from skarm, but why bother with that if you can just 2hko it straight up and not have to worry about mindgames involved in actually cornering it with magnezone. one thing i've found is that this set really appreciates tailwind support as it can put in a lot of work against offensive teams in particular. on one team i was actually testing lead mew and used this, but talonflame and latios other examples of pokemon that can provide this support. just a cool offensive tech that works really with this pokemon/set in particular because of diggersby's ridiculous power and ability to annihilate a lot of common offensive mons.

mention that sash can let diggersby be a pretty effective lead mon that can do a lot of damage right off the bat and potentially get some surprise kos, though it's kind of expected at this point so the surprise aspect isn't as relevant. you're missing some pokemon that jolly has use in outspeeding, especially timid tran, most variants of mew, and adamant dnite/gyara.

not really sure why skarm isn't mentioned in c&c but please get that there asap and specifically mention that it needs counter to deal with it. things like wisp mew and in general 100s that hit 256 espec celebi are usable methods of checking it. landorus-t also necessitates a major mention.

Can you change the set name of "Choiced Bunny" to "Choice Scarf"? By implying Choice Bunny, you are implying not only Choice Scarf, but Choice Band as well, and Diggersby dislikes being locked into a Choice Band, as it really does not have bulk nor speed. Furthermore, Diggersby's STABs are not the most ideal moves for a slow Pokemon to be locked into. Therefore, I suggest changing "Choiced Bunny" to "Choice Scarf".

Done, and thank you. This will be written up soon.

Will do. :p

A Jolly nature is preferred to outspeed Lopunny-Mega, Manectric-Mega, and the ocassional Pidgeot-Mega. An Adamant nature is definitely viable though if your team does not struggle with those pokemon, because it still outspeeds Greninja and the majority of the meta.
You say that Adamant Scarf Diggersby outspeeds Greninja. However, you say that Jolly Scarf has the benefitting of outrunning Mega Pidgeot. Considering that Greninja is faster than Mega Pidgeot, how can you argue that Jolly Scarf has a benefit of being able to outrun Mega Pidgeot when Adamant Scarf can do the same thing as well?

Stupid mistake, for some reason I thought Mega Pidgeot had 131 Speed. Editing that now.

if running knock off on scarf and all out attacker, mention magnezone as a good teammate.

substitute should also get a mention in oo or moves section on all out attacker and / or sd (ran over fire punch / knock off or sd). more than often you can sub fpr free on mega sableye, ferrothorn, and mew (if jolly), which is quite a huge feat.

also mention outspeeding adamant excadrill when running jolly

mention defenisve mega slowbro and alomomola in c&c. they can come in on anything (bar sd for alomomola) and threaten out with scald

Although Diggersby might not look impressive with its generally low stats, its great ability, Huge Power, doubles Diggersby'its Attack stat, making it a great wallbreaker. Immunities to Ghost- and Electric-type attacks give it opportunities to set up, and notably give it immunities to Shadow Sneak and Thunder Wave and Shadow Sneak, (AC) respectively (changed order here because otherwise the respectively bit is saying that Thunder Wave immunity is granted by its Ghost immunity and its Shadow Sneak immunity is granted by its Electric immunity). Access to great boosting moves in Swords Dance and Agility, (RC) and surprisingly great STAB coverage backed up with the elemental punches and Knock Off make Diggersby a fearsome Pokemon that all teams should prepare for. However, Diggersby is not without flaws.(full stop/period -> emdash)—weaknesses to common Grass-(add hyphen), Ice-(add hyphen), and Fighting-type moves make it somewhat hard for it to effectively sweep. Lackluster speed and bad bulk also hold Diggersby back, for it's not hard to as it is easily revenge killed by anything that can live a Quick Attack. New, fast Mega' Evolutions such as Mega-(remove hyphen) Metagross make this more noticeable than before. Diggersby's weaknesses to common priority moves in such as Aqua Jet, Mach Punch, and Ice Shard are also annoying for it.

Swords Dance
########
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Return
move 4: Quick Attack
ability: Huge Power
item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========
Swords Dance boosts Diggersby's already high Attack stat to even greater levels, and makes it a great wallbreaker than can sweep slow or weakened teams as well. Earthquake is Diggersby's best STAB move, hitting five types for super effective damage and being quite spammable in general. Return is a secondary STAB move that has good neutral coverage with Earthquake, as it hits most Pokemon that are immune to Ground very hard. Quick Attack is mandatory priority, because without it Diggersby does very badly against offensive teams.

Set Details
========
252 Attack investment EVs maximizes the damage Diggersby can do to the opponent foe (opponent = opposing player, foe = their Pokémon). 252 Speed lets Diggersby outspeeds most defensive Pokemon, allowing Diggersby it to hit them before they can inflict status on it or attack it. A Life Orb is the preferred item to hit even harder while still being able to switch moves, but a Focus Sash can be very helpful to help it Diggersby set up against offensive teams, or prevent it from being revenge killinged. It also makes Diggersby a pretty effiective lead Pokemon that can do a lot of damage right off the bat and potentially get some surprise KOes. An Adamant nature is preferred to do as much damage as possible, and thus maximize Diggersby's wallbreaking potential. A Jolly nature can, however, be used to improve Diggersby's matchup against offensive teams a bit by making it capable of outspeeding Breloom, Jolly Bisharp, Adamant Excadrill, most Mew variants, Timid Heatran, Adamant Dragonite, Adamant Gyarados, and Jolly Mega-(remove hyphen) Tyranitar, (AC) among others.

Usage Tips
========
This set works best early-(add hyphen) or mid-game to weaken or straight up defeat walls for teammates to sweep later. Do not set up on anything offensive except for Choice-(add hyphen)locked Electric- or Ghost-types, because with Diggersby's bulk it simply won't work, unless it has a Focus Sash. It is, however, easy to set up on passive Pokemon like such as Chansey. Do not underestimate Diggersby's power. A +2 Return 2HKOes Skarmory after Stealth Rocks damage, and a +2 Quick Attack can OHKO, (RC) or comes close to OHKOing, (RC) a lot of offensive Pokemon, including but not limited to Mega-(remove hyphen) Sceptile, Mega-(remove hyphen) Gallade, Thundurus, and Tornadus-T. Even without a Swords Dance boost, (AC) a Life Orb(add hyphen)-boosted Quick Attack can revenge kill less bulky Pokemon.

Team Options
========
Skarmory is Swords Dance Diggersby's best check on defensive teams, so Magnezone is a great teammate to remove it. Mega-(remove hyphen) Pinsir and Diggersby weaken each other'(add apostrophe)s counters and checks, and together with Magnezone they form a great core. If using this core, teammates with Knock Off are necessary because Skarmory always has a Shed Shell to escape from Magnezone. Examples of these would be Azumarill, Bisharp, Mamoswine, and Scizor. Pokemon that can switch into Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, and Ice Shard users, such as Breloom, Crawdaunt, and Mamoswine, are good teammates. Examples of these are Azumarill, Mega-(remove hyphen) Venusaur, and Keldeo. While not necessary, Pursuit support from Pokemon like such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Weavile, while not necessary, is useful to remove Gengar(add emdash)—which hard counters this set, (RC)—(add emdash) from the game; which hard counters this set. Healing Wish support is amazing, as it lets Diggersby get a second attempt at sweeping. It can wallbreak for itself early-game, and then clean up late-game. Latias is easily the best user of it Healing Wish.

Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Return
move 3: Knock Off / Wild Charge
move 4: U-turn
ability: Huge Power
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========
Earthquake is Diggersby's primary STAB move, and the move it should be using the most outside of U-turn because the Ground-type hits five types for super effectively damage. Return is a secondary STAB that hits a lot of Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Earthquake, and this secondary STAB move is one of the reasons to use Choice Scarf Diggersby over Choice Scarf Landorus-T, the other being access to Wild Charge to touch hit Skarmory with. Knock Off hits Gengar, which is immune to both of itDiggersby's STAB moves, (AC) as well as the occassional Bronzong, and is a generally good utility move to remove items, most notably Shed Shell's from Skarmory. Wild Charge removes the need to Knock Off Skarmory's Shed Shell, because it makes Diggersby capable of beating it by itself, as it havings a good chance of 2HKOing Skarmory as it switches in with Stealth Rocks up. U-turn is mandatory to take advantage of any switches Diggersby causes to gain momentum. It also OHKOes Celebi, which can live a Return in a pinch.

Set Details
========
252 Attack investment EVs maximizes Diggersby's damage output. 252 Speed investment EVs is to lets Diggersby outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame with a Choice Scarf, with the few relevant exceptions being Mega-(remove hyphen) Alakazam, Mega-(remove hyphen) Aerodactyl, Mega-(remove hyphen) Beedrill, and Mega-(remove hyphen) Sceptile. A Jolly nature is preferred to outspeed Mega-(remove hyphen) Lopunny, Mega (remove hyphen)-Manectric, as well as some slower Choice Scarf users like such Magnezone and Tyranitar. An Adamant nature is definitely viable though if your team does not struggle with those Pokemon, because it Diggersby still outspeeds Tornadus-T and the majority of the metagame. A Choice Scarf is the item of choice (this is subjective, but I'd personally change "item of choice" to something like "chosen item" simply because the item of choice in question has "Choice" in its name already) for this set, as it makinges Diggersby capable of outspeeding a lot of offensive threats like those mentioned above.

Usage Tips
========
If using Wild Charge, (AC) this set baits Skarmory pretty well, so Pokemon that appreciate it being weakened or removed, like such as Excadrill, Mega-(remove hyphen) Lopunny, and Mega-(remove hyphen) Metagross, are good teammates. Diggersby does not like being locked into either one of its STAB moves, so predict well and use U-turn a lot to prevent it from becoming set(remove space)up fodder for something like a foe such as Mega-(remove hyphen) Sableye or Landorus, (RC) and to wear down Diggersby's checlks and counters so it can clean up late-game with its powerful moves. With a Choice Scarf, (AC) Diggersby can be a decent revenge killer, but it is not exactly the best choice for this role, because its Speed simply is still not high enough to revenge kill Speed-(add hyphen)boosting sweepers such as Gyarados and Mega-(remove hyphen) Altaria, and it is defeated by strong priority from Pokemon like such as Azumarill and Dragonite.

Team Options
========
Other Volt Switch and U-turn users like such as Raikou and Talonflame can form a VoltTurn core with Diggersby and keep the momentum on your side. Hazard setters such as Heatran, Mamoswine, and Ferrothorn can make the opponent's life even harder by letting the Pokemon making foes take hazard damage every(add space)time they switch in, making them easier to wear down for Diggersby to clean up late-game. Since As Choice Scarf Diggersby fails to revenge kill Speed-(add hyphen)boosting sweepers, Pokemon like such as Thundurus and Talonflame are good partners to revenge kill them instead. Powerful wallbreakers can help soften up the opposing team for Diggersby to clean up. Examples would be Kyurem-Black, Mega-(add hyphen) Heracross, and Mega-(remove hyphen) Pinsir. Magnezone is an obvious teammate that can removes Skarmory, one of Diggersby's best checks, once its Shed Shell has been Knocked Off.

All-(add hyphen)Out Attacker
########
name: All-(add hyphen)Out Attacker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Return
move 3: Fire Punch / Knock Off
move 4: Quick Attack
ability: Huge Power
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========
Fire Punch 2HKO'(remove hyphen)es Skarmory on the switch and OHKO'(remove hyphen)es the standard Ferrothorn set if Diggersby is using an Adamant nature, but need needs Stealth Rocks up to 2HKO Skarmory if it's Jolly. With an Adamant nature, (AC) it also has a decent chance to 2HKO Chesnaught. Knock Off hits Ghost-types, most notabley Gengar, which is immune to both Earthquake and Return, for super effectively damage. It also has the added benefit of removing Skarmory's Shed Shell. Quick Attack is necessary priority to threaten the plethora of faster attackers in the tier, such as Latios, Thundurus, and Keldeo.

Set Details
========
252 Attack EVs maximize Diggersby's wallbreaking potential. 252 Speed EVs allow Diggersby to outspeed most defensive Pokemon and some slower offensive ones like such as Bisharp as well. An Adamant nature is preferred because it helps Diggersby in getting some extra KOes against walls such as Hippowdon and Slowbro. A Jolly nature is definitely an option, however, because it improves Diggersby's matchup against offensive teams by making allowing it to outspeed threats like such as Breloom and Adamant Excadrill, as well as M-Metagross before it has Mega Evolveds (maybe mention how it can also outspeed Mega Meta on the turn that it Mega Evolves too). Life Orb is the item the best item for this set, because without it Diggersby fails to break through a lot of walls.

Usage Tips
========
An all-(add hyphen)out attacking set is not really common, so the extra coverage can surprise Pokemon like such as Ferrothorn and Gengar and OHKO both with the appropriate move. Try to lure them in and OHKO them. Don't make Diggersby take more residual damage than you need to, because it's already getting worn down fast enough with Life Orb recoil. Prediction is important and should not be neglected when using this set. (prediction should never really be neglected at all anyway IMO; any maybe change this to something along the lines of "this set requires careful prediction to work")

Team Options
========
This set lures common answers to the most common Swords Dance set pretty well, so Pokemon that appreciate Gengar, Skarmory, and others removed are nice team options. Examples would be Mega-(remove hyphen) Metagross, Mega-(remove hyphen) Pinsir, and most Fighting-types in general. Fairy-types like such as Azumarill and Mega-(remove hyphen) Gardevoir have nice offensive synergy with Diggersby, because Diggersby hits all Steel-types, Poison-types, and Fire-types that resist their STAB, while they can cover its Fighting-type weakness, and Azumarill covers its Ice-type weakness too. They can also defeat Mega-(remove hyphen) Sableye and Fighting-types, which is a check to Diggersby, as well as Fighting-types.

########
A double dance set with the moves Agility, Swords Dance, Earthquake, and Return could be used, but Diggersby lacks the bulk to effectively pull it off without dual screens support. (my apologies if I'm incorrect, but wouldn't a double dance set be hindered more by the lack of coverage than lack of bulk because Diggersby would only need to to set up with one move depending on the type of team that it's facing?) A Choice Band set could be used with the same moves as the Choice Scarf set, but it's mostly outclassed as a wallbreaker by the Swords Dance set. Diggersby can use an offensive Spikes set that that takes advantage of the switches it forces to lay down Spikes and wear the opponent down. Ice Punch baits lures in Landorus-T and OHKOes offensive sets variants, while defensive sets variants come very close to getting OHKOed. Non bulk invested sets Variants with no HP or Defense investment already get 2HKO'(remove apostrophe)ed by Return anyway though, which is why it Ice Punch is not a preferred option. Substitute is a useful move to protect Diggersby from status. It could be used over Swords Dance, Fire Punch, or Knock Off to easily set up a Substitute on Pokemon like such as Mega-(remove hyphen) Sableye, Ferrothorn, and Mew if Diggersby has a Jolly nature, but requires it to hold Leftovers (maybe state why this is the case i.e for longevity), limiting Diggersby's offensive capabilities.

Checks & Counters
########

**Ghost-types**: Being immune to both of Diggersby's STAB'(remove hyphen)s, Gengar can freely switch in against the Swords Dance set, and do whatever it wants to do. It also puts a lot of pressure on the Choice Scarf set because Gengar gets free switches-(remove hyphen) ins against its Diggersby's STAB moves. Mega-(remove hyphen) Sableye can(remove space)not safely switch in against Diggersby, but if it has not yet Mega Evolved yet, (AC) it can burn it with a priority Will-(add hyphen)O-(add hyphen)Wisp and proceed to stall it out.

**Strong Priority**: Because of Diggersby's lackluster bulk it struggles to live against strong priority such as Crawdaunt and Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Mamoswine and Weavile's Ice Shard, Breloom and Conkeldurr's Mach Punch, and Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave Bird.

**Faster Pokemon**: Fast Pokemon that resist Quick Attack, such as Mega-(remove hyphen) Aerodactyl, Choice Scarf Heatran, (AC) and Choice Scarf Tyranitar, can take a +2 Quick Attack pretty well and KO Diggersby rather easily in return. It should be noted that the Diggersby's Choice Scarf set actually outspeeds the latter two and takes care of them very easiliy with a STAB Earthquake.

**Defensive Pokemon**: Although Diggersby breaks through a lot of walls, there are some defensive Pokemon Diggersby struggles with. Base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mew and Celebi; and in general base 100 Speed Pokemon that hit 256 Speed, can outspeed Diggersby and burn it or use Giga Drain, (AC) respectively. Landorus-T can switch into the all-(add hyphen)out attacker and Choice Scarf sets and do huge damage back. Landorus-T is, however, not hard to wear down due to its lack of reliable recovery. Skarmory resists both of Diggersby's STAB moves, but needs Counter to actually defeat it. Skarmory also fails to wall Fire Punch variants, and can be trapped by Magnezone provided that its Shed Shell has been taken away. Physically defensive Mega-(remove hyphen) Slowbro and Alomomola can also come in for free, except for Swords Dance in case of Alomomola, and can threaten Diggersby out with Scald, (AC). (I would probably change this bit to either "force Diggersby out" or just "threaten it") though Alomomola cannot come in safely against Swords Dance Diggersby.
