Overview
########

  • ITS A GIANT CLAW
  • Good Special Attack
  • Awesome coverage options
  • Good ability in Mega Launcher
  • Slow
  • Mediocre bulk
  • Major competition from other wallbreakers such as Dragalge

Funny Claw Pun
########
name: Funny Claw Pun
move 1: Scald
move 2: Dark Pulse
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Aura Sphere
ability: Mega Launcher
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========

  • Scald is a reliable STAB move and has a nifty 30% chance to burn
  • Dark Pulse gets a Mega Launcher boost and beats Psychic- and Ghost-types
  • Ice Beam nails Flying-, Ground-, Dragon-, and Grass-types
  • Aura Sphere hits Dark- and Steel-types hard

Set Details
========

  • Maximum Special Attack and Modest nature for maximum wallbreaking power
  • 252 Speed EVs allow it to beat everything up to uninvested base 90s such as Golbat and Gligar
  • Mega Launcher to boost the power of Dark Pulse and Aura Sphere
  • Life Orb to boost power of moves while allowing switching of moves

Usage Tips
========
  • Bring in off of U-turn, Volt Switch, or KOed mon
  • Best used as an early-game wallbreaker thanks to its good power and coverage
  • Bring in against walls such as Slowking, Cresselia, Gligar, Golbat, and Cofagrigus
  • Good at breaking down stall teams or defensive cores on balance teams
Team Options
========

  • Faster Pokemon such as Jolteon and Choice Scarf users
  • Fire-types such as Moltres and Delphox can help with Grass-types such as Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Virizion
  • Grass-types such as Virizion, Rotom-C, and Shiftry (also useful for clearing hazards) can help beat Grass- and Water-types
  • Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Cobalion and Rhyperior as Clawitzer forces a lot of switches
  • Dragalge has good defensive synergy and can help break down walls
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Magneton, Cobalion, Heliolisk, Jolteon, Rotom-C, Eelektross, Gligar, Golbat, Meloetta, and Pidgeot

Other Options
########
  • Choice Scarf
  • Choice Specs
  • Expert Belt
  • HP Grass / Water Pulse (but Scald burns are much more useful)
  • U-turn
  • Dragon Pulse to have a good chance to OHKO Dragalge

Checks & Counters
########

**Faster Teams**: As Clawitzer is relatively slow and its bulk isn't amazing, it has a tough time against faster teams.

**Electric-types**: Though none outside of Eelektross can avoid a 2HKO, Electric-types such as Jolteon, Rotom-C, Heliolisk, and Magneton can revenge KO Clawitzer with their STAB moves.

**Grass-types**: Grass types such as Virizion, Amoonguss, Roselia, and Rotom-C can take anything except Ice Beam and hit back hard with a STAB move.

Looks solid, not changing much. Starting with the overview, mention why use it instead of other wallbreakers like dragalge. It's incredible coverage and STAB Scald are two reasons, as well as having a bit more speed; on the other hand mention dragalge is more powerful and has a better typing. For usage tips mention the need to predict sometimes to be able to nail Slowking with two Dark Pulses as it switches in, that kind of stuff. Team Options need some work. First of all, I would like the "FWG" core removed because it's an extremely mindless core that has no synergy whatsoever especially in a tier with Dragalge being arguably the best Pokemon and Tyrantrum being a solid powerhouse. I would also like hazard removers removed and hazard setters added; Clawitzer likes hazards gone as much as all other grounded non-steel type Pokemon, and hazard inducers (cobalion, rhyperior, you know the drill) should be added as Clawitzer forces a lot of switches thanks to its coverage. Mention other wallbreakers (dragalge and pangoro/tyrantrum or something) so they could wallbreak together. You mention u-turn in usage (to bring it in) tips but don't mention any voltturn users in team options so do that :o Finally, in OO, mention why use Scald over Water Pulse (burn rate), and I would like AV removed lol. Also mention why Specs isn't useful (inability to change moves and switch between coverage which is the only reason Clawitzer is used) and Scarf is not that good, but I trust you to do that in the write-up anyway.

for Checks & Counters, I'd like to see stuff like spdef aromatisse and spdef alomomola.

do the above and tell me to come back and check it Ununhexium

Personally i'd like to see SpD golbat, which is what I use to take on Clawitzer (usually i play shitvest tho)

while scald burns are a bitch, you just need to land a Toxic and then you can Roost-stall the night away even if burned (and not switch in on Ice Beams). Gastrodon could probably get a mention; Avest growth possibly a well (not sure if it can take a scald+beam,or a pulse/sphere+beam though.) Amoonguss deserves a strong mention too

walked over some small details on IRC and implemented my old changes so this looks pretty good, c&c could do with some more bits but eh.

some 'funny (''''''''''funny''''''''') claw puns' for you:
- Claws for Alarm
- Clawstrophobic
- Cataclawsm (ick)

that's all I got

no

why do you even need a smuggy name? just use "Life Orb", "Wallbreaker", etc. 'custom' names aren't even supposed to be allowed unless in rare cases iirc o.o

I prvavly won't end up making it something funny because I can't think of one that I like so I'll just make it LO or something

I mean all these are obvious as fuk, like you probably just c/ped their move descriptions from Bulbapedia or whatever; at least mention their significance in the tier at least, like what they actually hit.

Like, no comparison of Scald's superiority over Water Pulse (I know u mentioned it in OO but it should really be listed here as well)? No mention of relevant Dark Pulse targets like Slowking and Cress? Why the hell do you even mention Ground-types as Ice Beam targets? And not even Mega Abomasnow as an Aura Sphere target!

How did these shoddy move descriptions get this much QC checks?

Arikado It doesn't have to be so cookie-cutter; I've seen too many Overviews with info that can literally be googled up and have pretty much nothing to do with the mon's role in the meta, and this Moves section reminds me of exactly that.

I mean, moves is usually the most obvious section

I agree but he can't do much more than adding examples, a thing that he should absolutely do
