General Introduce yourself!

I got here on this website while I was looking for some pokemon breeding tips! But let me start form the beginning.. :D
It all started almost 15 years ago when I bought pokemon red for my gameboy! I was 12 ish and I was a really good on fighting with other people that I even started to carry around my system link cable so that I can challenge kids wherever I want!
Meanwhile something new happened to me, I found out that the world was filled with girls! so I never bought the second generation games and I did'nt played pokemon anymore until almost a year ago when I get to have a deal where I could buy a nintendo2ds for a few bucks! So I had the console but no games and choice was pretty obvious.. I wanted to give a shot to the second generation that I missed so many years before..I bought pokemon Heartgold!
I get so involved in the game that my last girlfriend decided to stop dating me, but hey! you know what? I have tiny monsters to catch and the realtionship was going anywhere! (yes I'm joking)

Anyway! Here I am, playing on pokemon Y right now and still deciding what to do with ORAS, should I buy it immediately or finish this kalos game first? (I am hunting down legendaries..so it's almost done unless I decide to complete all pokedexs).
Actually I have so many questions to ask but before I do that I want to get some time to read dozens of topic here on smogon to get my mind clear on what to do as a pokemon trainer!
Meanwhile I'd like to add friends for the safari friends thing and also for trading the one that I couldn't get on Y!
I play when I have time but I work 8 hours a day, you can pm me if you want more details on trades, also I'll start looking for players here on the forum!

Welcome to Smogon! There's definitely a lot to learn about Pokémon, both competitively and non-competitively.
There are two big ways you can learn: the first being our Mentorship Program and the second being our Tutoring Program. Our mentors give 1 on 1 help, whereas our tutors give 1 on multiple "lessons". But you can also just look and lurk around yourself for stuff you're looking for, of course. Have a great time and good luck!

Oh, and maybe it's handy to put your friendcode in your signature, so you don't have to mention it manually.

Hi there everyone. I started playing competitively at the beginning of XY; I thought that a new gen would be a good place to start. I kinda went off it, but got back into it before the release of ORAS. I lurked the forums for several weeks so that I could understand the different metagames better and finally got round to making an account a few days ago.

hello smogon! I've been playing pokemon since ruby/sapphire, quit after DPP, and came back in a major way for ORAS. Post-game I still wanted more pokemon so I was way excited to find out that smogon and pokemon showdown existed. It's been fun so I made an account here to be more interactive with the community!

Hi Everybody! My name is Eddie and I LOVE Pokémon, I love to compete in WiFi competitions such as ones on Facebook and sometimes the ones from the Pokémon Website. I hope to meet alot of people on here and maybe even have a battle here and there but anyway for now I want to become a gym leader and I hope some people can help me out with my team!!! I am competing for the Grass Type Gym and I have an all Grass Team, but I have no luck with winning, so I was hoping that I could have someone help me out to assemble the perfect Grass Type Team, thanks in advance!!! :)

Yo, Julz here. I'm new to Smogon but my friend encouraged me that I use this site to help me become a better competitive battler. Been playing pokemon forever but only recently got interested into this side of Pokemon.

I have a couple of competitive UU pokes on my cartridge but after playing online I realize they're not going to be viable. I'm on pokemon showdown all the time though!

I joined PS in a bit more than a year ago (Feb 14, 2014, though it feels like I've been there for so much longer than a year) and only now do I have a Smogon! I'm looking to delve even further into competitive battling! I like to hang out in the Game Corner room, where you can find me as devoshi10. I hope to have a good time here!

Hi! I've been playing on Showdown for almost a year now.
I LOVE Little Cup. Absolutely love it. But, I will also play OU from time to time.
I go by TyPar mainly on PS, but I also use Blind_Wing.
I'm actually almost blind, so it's sometimes difficult to navigate forums quickly and play PS, but I'd say I'm doing alright considering.
I can't wait to meet other people who love LC, and maybe even join some tournaments~!

i actually have been on smogon for a bit now (about 4 months or maybe more), but i thought i would say hi here! on pokemon showdown i use the same name (dont ask about yellow (insert flying type here)), and my favorite tier is uu. i hope this fun continues on smogon!

Hello I started playing pokemon in gen 4 with my first games being Platinum and Heart Gold. I first started playing competitevly in X and Y when looking for competitive tips to beat my friends. I found Smogon and some videos on battle strategy and I was eager to try it out. I played Showdown for a while while I was trying to grasp the EVs and IVs concept. When I finally learned how to get perfect IVs and EV train effectively I bred my first Eevee with good IVs and EV trained it for competitive use. While playing Showdown I was looking at other formats and I found Monotype and is one of my favorite formts to play in. I made a team with my favorite type, grass, and had a lot of fun even when I lost most of the time. Today I've tried to get into the OU metagame and have had some success and I hope to get better.

Hi EeveeTrainerG!
I started with Emerald in Generation 3. I also started competitive battling with the release of XY. I myself have never tried getting perfect EVs/IVs, as in-game, I don't really care, to be honest. :/ Check out the Monotype room in Showdown if you want to learn! My favorite type is steel, which can be really good competitively sometimes. Visit the "OverUsed" room in Showdown and/or visit its subforum here at Smogon to get involved! Have a great time!
