I built a team around the combo of Cressalia and Toxicroak. Basically I switch in to Cressalia when it's a good time to set up double screens, then switch toxicroak in. Cressalia can lunar dance to heal toxicroak if he's already hurt or another poke that would be good. The rest of the team is just built around wearing down with Manectric keeping up momentum to make things good for Toxicroak sweep. Scarf Starraptor is the late game cleaner. I feel like my team could use more power. I was debating Heatran over Gliscor as the rocks setter but went with Gliscor in the end as I like his 3 immunities. It might be better to go with Heatran as I can switch toxicroak in to take water moves used against heatran.
Heatran also is good vs Faeries..maybe I should go with it.
I feel like I might need a dragon or something in place of Starraptor for more raw power incase Croaky bites the bullet.
I like toxicroak because his strong physical poison attacks.
I am a noob to the ORAS meta, but have had some success with this team so far on the lower end of the ladder. I'd like advice to make it better.
HERE'S THE TEAM
MEGA MANECTRIC @ Manectite
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Standard set. I just really like his ability to keep up momentum and high speed being a good revenge killer+intimidate. Very useful poke. He's very predictable though. This mega spot is definitely up for change. I love volt-turn core with starraptor but it isn't needed if I can do better.
CRESSALIA (F) @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lunar Dance
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Thunder Wave
This guy is meant to set up screens on something like a blissey and then peace out. Lunar Dance is a game winning move timed right, and thunder wave offers great support. Lunar Dance is also good for healing up Starraptor for another suicide run. Cressalia is an awesome sponge+support mon, but it has bad typing. As much as I love her, also subject to change.
TOXICROAK @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch/Knock Off
- Gunk Shot
This guy is my main cleaner. I still haven't decided which I like more between sucker punch and knockoff. I guess knock off is more versatile. Set up an SD with screens and this guy can often take out 3+pokes. STAB Gunk Shot murders faeries.
STARMIE @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Hydro Pump
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
Standard offensive spinner Starmie. He is just an offensive versatile juggernaut that we all know and love. Primary used as a spinner, and my best special attacker. I don't like having 2 psychic types on the team and it is a weakness though! Pump instead of scald for KO power.
GLISCOR @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
Talonflame counter+bulky wall and rock setter. He has stone edge to kill Talonflames. I am leaning towards Stealth Rocks Stone Edge Heatran replacing Gliscor here but I'm not sure if that would be good for the team.
EDIT-Im going to switch to the stallbreaker set suggested below.
STARAPTOR @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Brave Bird
- Double-Edge
- Close Combat
My late game cleaner. Starraptor AKA Yolo Burd heats like a truck and is probably my favorite battling poke in the video games going back a long time. Talonflame has priority but Starraptor has the raw power. Forms a useful Volt-turn combo with Manectric, being immune to ground moves often used against Manectric.
Please give me any advice you have! I really want to make this team better.
On another note, how do I post XY sprites on here?
