Introduction
Hey! I'm GrayFX and this is my new UU team. I started competitive playing UU then slowly moved over to a niche between it and OU, playing both on and off. I hope you enjoy my RMT. :D
Team Overview
Team Building Process
My aim for this team was to have a FWG core, two setup pokemon and a sweeper. The FWG core was so that I could switch into most pokemon, the setups so I could inflict serious damage once anything that could harm them was out of the way and finally a scarf revenge sweeper to clean up at the end. Immediately I chose my sweeper Salamence for the ability Moxie and a pretty decent speed for the scarf to use.
Next I took a look at the FWG core, I have been using M-Blastoise a lot lately because it stops most UU leads and it can Rapid Spin. I added him and Shaymin, my favourite Grass pokemon. For the Fire pokemon I opted for a Fletchinder as Gale Wings priority is extremely useful in the current meta taking out a lot of threats once they are slightly weakened.
Now I needed to choose my support duo. This was hard as I like a lot of the pokemon in UU and RU. I went for a Doublade for the first slot, as it covered most of my weaknesses and is a very fun pokemon to use. Now with one slot left I saw that my remaining slot would be best served by a fairy pokemon. I chose Slurpuff as the other Fairies in UU are all defensive styled (Florges, Whimsicott, etc.). So that's the team!
A Closer Look
Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Iron Tail
Honestly this is a fairly standard spread, Scarf to revenge kill cleanly, Moxie so that he can snowball. Max Atk and Spe for obvious reasons. Adamant because scarf already gives enough speed. Dragon Claw is so I don't lock into Outrage mid-game Earthquake and Iron Tail for coverage.
Blastoise-Mega @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Rapid Spin/Aura Sphere
Again, fairly standard. Scald for STAB and consistensy. Ice Beam and Dark Pulse for coverage. Rapid Spin I sometimes switch with Aura Sphere, hence the dual move. 0 Atk IVs to lower confusion damage. All pretty standard, it does exactly what I need it to do.
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Dazzling Gleam
- Rest
I love this little bush so much. :D Seed Flare is strong STAB. Earth Power is fantastic coverage. Dazzling Gleam often gets the unsuspecting Dragon type. Rest is to make full use of Natural Cure. Shaymin serves it's purpose beautifully, weakening strong pokemon early game for the others to take out.
Fletchinder
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Heat Wave
Honestly this thing is funny to use, It has a great moveset but the only thing I ever do with it is spam Acrobatics. I always feel that it is much less risky just to click that Acrobatics button than to risk taking a hit from a faster pokemon. Anyway it works well for what it is. xC
Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Gyro Ball
- Sacred Sword
This again, is fairly standard but I'll quickly run through it anyway. Swords Dance for setup (one of two setup mons, remember :D), Shadow Sneak is good priority and can pack quite a punch after a Swords Dance or two. Iron Head is secondary STAB and Sacred Sword is fantastic coverage.
Slurpuff @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
Happiness: 0
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Play Rough
- Frustration
- Belly Drum
Slurpuff is great because NOBODY and I mean NOBODY even looks twice at this thing. I don't understand how Belly Drum Slurpuff is outshone by other Fairies. This thing is so fun to use. You literally ALWAYS get off a Belly Drum, heal with the Sitrus Berry and now you're at x2 Spe and x4 Atk. Pretty hilarious if you ask me. :P

Final Thoughts
I am extremely open to suggestions on this team so do not hesitate to reply with better pokemon, sets or moves. I want to make this team as good and fun to use as possible. Thanks! :D
