ORAS UU Dirty Suicune + Rango

Hello to all who read, and are helping me with this team! The team is based around 2 Pokemon, Dirty Suicune and Rango (Heliolisk), and they have a few companions who are being dragged along for the ride. Sorry if the thread seems rushed, I'm super tired lul.

Literally based on the fact that Suicune is such a great Pokemon to use, but an annoying one to face. To get the best of both worlds I use Suicune myself and run Heliolisk, the perfect counter to Crocune.

The two were added to the team based on their sheer power and speed. Scarf Darm wrecks shop and is an incredible wallbreaker. Luke has always been a favorite wallbreaker of mines since DP and if used well he will not fail you.

Lastly I added Roserade since I felt like she would finish the FWG core I started by accident and she also gives me a reliable way to kill Swampert and friends as well as fairies. Forretress functions as the means of hazard control for the team, he is the unsung supporter.

The Team

Dirty (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Calm Mind
Standard old annoying Crocune set that everyone loves and hates. 252 HP and 252 Def EVs to maximize physical bulk as the Calm Mind stacks will cover up the SpD side. Rest for unreliable recovery and sleep talk to make rest appear as if it is in fact reliable.

Rango (Heliolisk) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hyper Voice
- Surf
This thing has been been an amazing Pokemon I have been using since it was sitting down in RU for a while until people began to recognize the power that is Heliolisk. Life Orb over Choice Specs to add versatility and not locking in. Volt Switch for momentum and Thunderbolt for a stronger stab move. Hyper Voice as a normal STAB move and Surf is for any unruly ground/rock types that think I'll let them come in unscathed.

Darmanitan (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake Superpower
Red Monkey AKA Monkey in a China Shop, the legend who's main purpose is to eat souls. But no there is definitely more to Darm than just soul eating, such as... nah he just eats souls... jk. He's a great scout Pokemon with U-Turn to check the opponent's lead and then switch into a more favorable match up or if the match up is in his favor he can begin to do his work early game.Flare Blitz for the God damage and Rock Slide+Earthquake Combo because Stone Miss sucks.

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Crunch
The second wallbreaker on team who punishes the stupid pink blob and all other normal types in the tier. I have literally swept 4 Pokemon on 4 separate occasions after 1 SD and some SR damage. Whether it's devouring opponents with CC or cleaning up the leftovers with ES, Lucario gets the job done. Crunch so Luke isn't walled by any ghost types.

Roserade (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leech Seed Tox. Spikes
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain Leaf Storm
Roserade is love, Roserade is life. I honestly haven't had so much fun playing with a grass type Pokemon in a very long time. Sleep Powder allows for me to incapacitate a Pokemon which usually gives me the Leech seed setup or a free switch into Suicune or Luke to setup for sweeps if the conditions are right. I chose Giga Drain over Leaf Storm to give Roserade a recovery and STAB move in one and I don't have to worry about SpA drops. Sludge Bomb for the great 30% chance to poison and it is perfect for punching holes through opposing grass type and fairies.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
Rounding out the team is one of the OG Hazard Controllers of the game. I have always preferred spinners because I can keep my rocks up still. Volt Switch to give my team dragging momentum into more appropriate match up scenarios. Gyro Ball as a strong STAB move that has been saving my team from the terror of Mega Aero.

Again, thank you to those who looked over the team and are willing to help me make the team better.
Mega Pidgeot - By far the thing that gives my team the most trouble, those Hurricanes are hard to play around.

Slowking - Dealing with this Pokemon's Psyshock has really been bugging my team, not the biggest threat, but you have to be weary especially of the CM sets.

Feraligatr - If Suicune is down and this beast gets up a DD its pretty much a GG.

Hi Hollow Magby,

Nice team. I like the use of Darmanitan these days as it seems to have fallen out of favor, but I feel it has a lot of viability remaining in the current metagame and U-Turn is incredibly for establishing momentum. One change I would suggest is removing Earthquake for Superpower on Darm. I know that you have fighting coverage with Lucario already, but from my point of view both Darm and Luc tend to get worn down rather quickly, and fighting coverage is strong in this metagame than ground coverage (Snorlax being the big target - he walls Darm otherwise).

Additionally, your Roserade set seems to sit between two ideas. Personally, I prefer Leaf Storm over Giga Drain on offensive Roserade, because you are often not able to stay in to make good use of the passive recovery provided by drain. Additionally, Leech Seed faces similar problems - there aren't really too many mons in the tier you want to Leech Seed on and stay in Giga Draining, the metagame is just too fast and strong at the moment. So my suggestion there is to replace Leech Seed with Toxic Spikes. When you force a switch (say, coming in on a Swampert) you can get up a layer of TSpikes which, when you have offensive momentum, will savage the other team - that 12% can make for some crucial moments, especially if you manage to get rocks up. Another benefit of TSpikes is that it often forces the opposing player to bring in their grounded poison types before they want to, which can give you free turns

Thank you for you input teal6! I think you're right running Superpower is the more favorable move, I haven't seen many scenarios where I benefit from EQ anyways so far outside of grounded Pokemon weak to it, which isn't often really.

This is a hard decision to make as I love keeping Roserade along as long as possible and it does help wear down some teams with leech, but I'll try the TSpikes to wear down my opponent's entire team rather than a singular Pokemon. LS off of base 125 SpA with life orb and STAB will do some heavy damage to other teams which might again be for the best as my team lacks a lot of bulk and prefers to wear the other team down as quickly as possible.

Again, Thank You teal6!

A couple changes. Firstly, it's more popular these days to give Suicune a little speed to take on the likes of Band Champ, Bulky Stoise, Bulky Rotom, and bulky Roserade. I recommend put around 20 EVs into Speed. Take 12 EVs from Hp, to retain 401 lefties number + odd number, and then the remaining 4 from defense.

Heliolisk needs 0 Attack IVs, as it's pitiful defense gets smacked hard by Foul Play. You should also be running Grass Knot over Surf in order to better take on popular switch in such as Swampert, and bulky grounds.

Lucario relies on an Adamant nature in order to E-speed OHKO many threats such as Crobat and MoxieMence after Stealth Rock damage. Also, replace Crunch with Bullet Punch, as having access to dual priority also threatens popular revenge killers such as Mega Aerodactyl. It also OHKOs Defensive Florges after a SD boost.

This team needs Shaymin for the Ground Resist, so replace Roserade with Shaymin, offering a similar Moveset bar Sleep Powder with more bulk and speed. The Shaymin set will be the following:

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Dazzling Gleam
- Earth Power
- Rest

This Shaymin set is also arguably a better matchup against Entei and non Scarf Variants of Chandelure, when we compare the pros and cons of Shaymin vs Roserade (bulkier against E-speed, access to E-power which OHKOs w/ Rocks). It also takes on Salamences better looking for a free DD.

Hey man really cool team you have here, I'm afraid I can't add much after teal6 and King UU's good rates, but I'm going to go ahead and suggest the use of Roar over Sleep Talk on your Suicune, for a couple reasons, namely Salamence and Feraligatr. Right now your only real means of handling these monsters once they get free boosts on Darm or Forretress (if Mence is mixed, which isnt uncommon at all), is trying to RK with Lucario and to a lesser extent, Darmanitan (which doesnt even outspeed Jolly Mence) or relying on a Scald burn which is an effort that falls completely on its face vs the now popular Sub Gatr, though 3 Attacks is the greater threat to your team. This just isn't enough. Roar keeps Suicune from being set up fodder for these two and is also useful for beating other CMers like Slowking and Reuniclus. The loss of Sleep Talk may hurt in certain situations but honestly if you're going to have to rely on Sleep Talk rolls for it to sweep then perhaps it was too early to try and set up to begin with, and you have plenty on your team to combat offensive builds against which Sleep Talk is most valuable. The utility of Roar is likely worth it for this team.
