ORAS OU It Exists, Fly Landorus-T! With Some Quickpass (Peak 1737)

Capture.png

Hello all! This will be my first post on here. I'm looking to improve this team to the best it can
possibly get so feel free to suggest any improvements.

I'd do a Team Building Process but I've been working on this team for so long and swapped
so many pokemon in and out that it would take forever to do so.

The Team

Scolipede @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Atk / 248 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Megahorn
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Baton Pass

The final pokemon to join my team. I've always been a huge fan of quick passing since the first time
I touched good ol Mega Blaziken when it was legal for like two days. I've messed around with
quick pass since then but never had a truly reliable team with it. After the baton pass nerfs came
around and you couldn't pass speed + other stats, I decided to try an offensive scoli and I was not
disappointed. This thing is my cleanup sweeper, quick passer, and unsuspectingly high damage output
killer. This thing takes care of the lati twins, can OHKO tyranitar depending on the Tyranitar's build, takes care of Heatran, can 2HKO Mega Sableye, and people love to switch Charizard Y in on this thing so I just nail them with an unsuspecting Rock Slide. The EV spread is to outrun up to max speed jolly Thundurus with the rest in Attack and HP.

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 12 Def / 244 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fly
- Bulk Up
- Earthquake
- Substitute

This set right here is my own special creation. People don't see it coming which only adds to how fun it
is to use this thing since everyone expects this to be tanklando when it comes out. This sets up for free on opposing Defensive Landos and Tankchomps which are two very common Pokemon and sets to run into. Stab Fly hits pretty dang hard and gives an extra turn for Leftovers recovery. Fly + Earthquake gives great neutral coverage, only being walled by Skarmory and Zapdos. Rotom-W can only spam Hydro Pump which has a high chance to miss so you're normally able to stall it out of Hydros PP which then Rotom-W can do literally nothing to this. Fly also allows you to defeat Mega Venusaur with ease, 2HKOing it before it can take care of you. If you safely get a Speed Boost from Scolipede and set up a bulk up, there is a high chance you're going to sweep the enemy team. The EV spread is to outrun up to Jolly Magma Storm Heatran while max attack and the rest in Def to give a little boost to your defensive tanking abilities.

Spr_5b_445_f.png

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic

The defensive offensive stealth rocker tank thing that came to fame fairly recently in the OU meta.
Me and my friend used to make fun of how this thing came in to just get his arse whooped and put
down rocks but upon using this thing I came to really enjoy the chip damage Rough Skin + Rocky
Helmet does while maintaining a bit of offensive presence. Dragon Tail is for phasing people out
for stealth rock damage or if i need to stop someone from setting up. Earthquake is standard, and I use Toxic in the last slot to cripple opposing tanks that try to swap in on this.

Spr_5b_212_f.png

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Def
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch

I use Mega Scizor as my defogger. I don't really like the Lati twins. I used to have problems with Mega Diance which is when I swapped in Mega Scizor. Takes care of Diance, eats up moves for free from Bisharp and Weavile. This thing is also just generally good at tanking various physical moves. EV spread is the bulky Swords Dance build just without Swords Dance as this Scizor still packs a punch while maintaining momentum with U-turn.

Spr_5b_485.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 190 HP / 252 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

I needed a Pokemon that could eat special moves. I used to run Chansey but I wanted something a little
more offensive and so, enter Heatran. Upon testing various build I ended up falling in love with the
Magma Storm moveset. I've killed Chanseys, Suicuines, Talonflames, Mega Ampharos, and a whole bunch of Pokemon by just trapping them with Magma Storm and clicking taunt. Earth Power is for opposing Heatran's and Toxic is for Pokemon that don't mind switching into Magma Storm, like bulky
water types for example. EV spread is the standard Specially Defensive set with swapped HP and SpD EVs to make him a little more tank on the SpD side. I know Magma Storm Heatran likes to run a lot
of speed but I've had great success running the SpD set as I'm able to outrun the things I need to outrun and hit with a taunt or Magma Storm. I'm also totally okay with just tanking a hit and then nailing someone with Magma Storm. The great synergy Heatran has with Scizor just compliments the team even more.

Spr_5b_080.png

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Slack Off

Slowbro straight up walls and tanks so much in the OU meta right now. Straight up defeating Keldeo, Talonflame, and other such threats as well as tanking physical fire moves and fighting moves for ma boys Heatran and Scizor. Not to mention Regenerator is a horrendously good ability. Thunder Wave is for crippling the opposing teams faster mons so Lando can run them over. EV spread is a standard defensive set for eating up physical moves.

Replays

a good match, getting over Mega Slowbro is difficult.

another good match, incredibly close

Lando + Scoli going in. Lando smashing a huge gap in the team and Scoli for cleanup kills.

Thanks for anyone that looks over this team and gives critique on it. I'm looking to improve it even further. I'm probably never going to change Fly Lando or Scolipede but everyone is definitely up for change if something else better comes along.

Don't see any way to hit Rotom-W in this team :-/
Me neither, and 2fast your Lando set is fine I guess but NEEDS Rotom-W out of the way as it completely walls it. Toxic could work but I wouldn't rely on poison to kill anything as this is not a stall team. Rotom-W has only a Grass weakness, so packing a Grass move comes to mind. However I find difficult to fit one on the team. My idea (that doesn't mean that a better one can come into a more experienced player's mind) is to change Slowbro for bulky Latias. Latias checks Keldeo and eats Fire- and Fighting-type moves too. Plus, it Defogs hazards to if you pack Defog (I'm leaving just as an option as you said you didn't like Lati@s defogging) Scizor could go to the bulky Swords Dance set. Talonflame is checked by Heatran and Garchomp somewhat and for Mega Diancie you could fit Flash Cannon on Heatran (over Earth Power?). Note that most of this is suggestions and not must-do changes so feel free of disagreeing.
The sets:
Latias @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 whatever (SpA/SpD/Spe)
Bold Nature
- Roost
- Dragon Pulse/Defog/Reflect Type
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish/Defog/Reflect Type
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off/U-turn/Superpower
(this change is totally up to you)
Have a nice day! And good luck with this team!

I'd be up for trying bulky Latias over Slowbro, my only concern is I'd lose my immediate counter to the psychic/fighting people. Mega Lopunny cleanly 2HKOs Latias and Latias can do nothing to stop it :(. Mega Scizor can eat up a couple High Jump Kicks but can return fire on it unless I swap in Superpower on it as well. Actually, let me try Superpower Scizor and Defog Bulky Latias and see how it goes.

With the changes you still got Lando and Garchomp to at least discourage Mega Lopunny from recklessly spamming its STABs (with Intimidate and Rough Skin + Rocky Helmet), however I do agree that with the changes Ice Punch Lopunny shits all over the team which I didn't think about tbh :/
So if you're not comfortable with the changes I'll understand. As I said I'm not an experienced player and this is probably not the best change you can do. At least I tried to help :,(
Still, hope you're lucky with the team, and that some better player than me replies and helps

Thanks for your input man :) it was a good suggestion, I'm even testing it out right now. If you can think of anything else please feel free to let me know!!

I've been playing around with the team and found some success with Celebi instead of Slowbro.
I also tried a Specs Trick Rotom instead of Heatran as set up for Landorus becomes even easier if you can trick something like Garchomp or Landorus, but it felt a bit Serperior weak (although at +2 Serperior's HP Fire is a 3hko on Celebi without rocks)

tl;dr Celebi tanks hits from M-Loppuny and Keldeo and can beat Rotom-W. Trick Rotom can 2hko physically defensive Zapdos after rocks and helps against Skarmory and stall.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 100 SpD
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Giga Drain
- Thunder Wave/Toxic
- Psychic/HP Fire/Stealth Rock/Nasty Plot

Even with rocks damage this spread is a 3hko for jolly M-Lopunny's Return or Ice Punch (and without rocks it's a 3hko for the rare adamant Lopunny as well) so it can be Thunder Waved and then more easily ko'ed and is also a 3hko for specs Keldeo's Icy Wind. Of course there's an argument in terms of longevity here as if the opponent has both M-Lopunny and Keldeo this can more easily whittle Celebi than Slowbro. Celebi also works well with Rocky Helmet Garchomp as Celebi can bait U-Turns which Garchomp can punish.
Personally I'm not a fan of Stealth Rock Celebi because most common Stealth Rockers beat it 1v1 but it could free up the Garchomp slot for a more hard hitting offensive Garchomp or a different mon as I felt like I was mostly getting off chip damage to begin and not gaining much momentum (though perhaps I'm playing Landorus too passively).
Moreover the main reason I think Celebi works better is because, unlike Slowbro, Celebi beats Rotom-W and gets a free set up with Nasty Plot on it.

With the Trick Rotom idea it helps getting some nice volt-turn momentum going. It's a great lure to M-Venusaur which Landorus then destroys.
Even with no investment Specs Rotom still 2hko's physically defensive Zapdos after Stealth Rocks and in return is a 3hko for Zapdos's Thunderbolt. It'll also help in beating Skarmory and is nice against stall. Not sure what the best EV spread is for this set, I kept changing it and couldn't decide on one, but I think it's a viable choice for the team.
Again though, as I mentioned, it felt a little Serperior weak as there was too much pressure left on Celebi and I was forced to recover a lot. On top of that, Serperior is definitely a deterrent to clicking trick.

Anyway, hope this is helpful and great team.
Edit: Just realized the team becomes weak to HP Fire Kyurem-B
