Thanks for your answers, but I meant to do these modifications for online play, but well now that I do know that pokemons shouldn't be hacked for VGC I'll not do that just to be cautious, even for online play.

How does trace work, does it get priority over other abilities or does it just go according to speed stats? Like if a quiet trace gardevoir is sent out against a milotic and jolly salamence, would salamence intimidate gardevoir before gardevoir traces competitive to get the boost?

iirc Trace has "Pressure Priority", so it'll go before Intimidate even if you're slower. Trace 'randomly' selects an opponent to Trace, so you won't always get competitive in that case; you'll probably just Intimidate a Special Mence and double the Milotic's Sp. Atk.
Now, if you're FIGHTING a Gardevoir, it'll guarenteeably Trace your Competitive, to double its Sp. Atk and leave your Milotic in the dust.

That's my personal experience at least. If I lead Charizard + Chlorosaur, they WILL copy Chlorophyll instead of Blaze. "Random" my ass.

Is it worth it to run Protect over a coverage move on Greninja cause the coverage is nice.

Yes, imo. Greninja does give up coverage for Mat Block at times, and being very frail and pretty threatening it attracts attacks. It's also commonly Sashed, so double-tapping it isn't unheard of.

Short answer, yes. Long answer, in doubles protect is one of the most common moves for pokemon to run because it can let you live a turn longer than without it. And if your opponent double targets a pokemon that's protected the partner can punish the opposing mons

It could work, because with a 4th move it would somewhat alleviate its horrible 4MSS and have a chance to whack whatever walls it with its other 3 Moves (i.e whack Aegislash with Dark Pulse, lolWater Shuriken for Talonflame (even if it isn't too relevant/popular nowadays), etc), but that would require additional support which could limit your teambuilding options, and you would be screwed more easily against faster attackers/speed control/priority; so yeah, its preferable to run Protect most of the time or even Mat Block, specially because Ninja is frail as hell.

Also tagging ProjectTitan313 so you know.

Trace does not have priority over other abilities so Intimidate would go first. You can see this in the US national finals for the junior division.

About the "random" chance of getting each ability whenever I use Gardevoir it traces the wrong ability 90% of the time and the better ability 90% of the time for opponents.

I'm thinking of running a goofy little team of Belly Drum Poliwrath, Politoed and redirection. I'm running Waterfall, Ice Punch, Protect and Belly Drum. Should i change Ice Punch for Brick Break.

Yes, Poliwrath has such nice typing and STABs.
Needs Intimidate + Glare Arbok, creates setup opportunity with attack lowering, crushes Fairy and Grass types, and maintains speed control with extremely few resists. Add a Dark type and / or Snarl and you're golden.

edit: ok that might of been too bad; no, just run Ice Punch, Fighting was the king of Gen 5 but it has taken a very dramatic fall from grace in Gen 6; combine that with Poliwrath's utterly horrifying STAB options and it really shouldn't be running a Fighting move, ever.

Is there any pokemon that checks bulky water types and Ghost/Psychic types at the same time. Also do you have to run Focus Sash or Life Orb Bisharp and Excadrill

Ferrothorn might be what you're looking for.

You don't have to run either. Both are viable options on both those Pokémon.

I considered him but my team is sand so it already has 2 fighting weaknesses. I was thinking Bisharp but I do need help with the water types.

Fighting isn't that common of an attacking type, I think last year lucario was the most used among fighting types by a landslide and power up punch was the most used non-stab fighting move. So other than the rare super power from lando-t and close combat from a lucario or terrakion, it should be fine as long as you have pokemon that check/counter them.
It's not like the 2012-2013 seasons where you were tripping over fighting types like terrakion, scrafty, and conkeldur or even the popular reuniclus with its non-stab focus miss.

Anyone know how to get a mon with 0IVS in Speed. I don't want to use those dang Trade Threads because they are so specific. On a similar note are there any Trade Forums that just have pokes with good IVS and don't care about the ball and egg moves.

Is physical mega altaria viable or should I stick to special/mixed?
It probably is somewhat viable but Special is better no burns or intimidates. However Return could be used to deal more direct damage to Kangaskhan and stuff. You run the calcs and see if it helps you. Special gets lots of coverage like Fire Blast and stuff so it is what I prefer.

Luck or by going back to black and white 2 and RNG abusing for a zero speed ditto then transferring it over to your current gen game and then breeding it that way. Don't know the answer to your second part of your question
