ORAS OU RMT OU - Mega-Pidgeot Bird SS3

Hello everybody! My name is Giuseppe and today I want to show you my very first OU team for Alpha Sapphire. I have tested it a little bit on Pokémon Showdown and I was pretty satisfied by the outcome and I wanted your advices before actually getting it ingame. Without wasting other time I'm proceeding to show you my team-members and the strategy linked to it:

The whole team is based on one of my favorite Pokes ever, who finally got a well deserved mega-evolution: Mega-Pidgeot. His moves' "unfailability", powerful and confusing stab and decent speed make him a wonderful late-game sweeper. His frailness needs a lot of support and help in order to let him win as a true Super Sayan should.

Mega-Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 6 HP/ 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk)

-Hurricane
-Heat Wave
-Roost
-U-Turn

He is my man, my star, my sunshine. Pretty standard set with Roost covering any possible damage input and U-Turn to grab momentum. The aim of my game is pretty much remove from the battlefield any faster enemy Pokémon and then throw him in the heart of the match to clean it up. He usually shows up pretty late during my battle because he requires protection and no Stealth Rock around, to fix this I have called the best armored bird around...

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def/ 6 Spe
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpAtk)

-Defog
-Stealth Rock
-Roost
-Brave Bird

This really brave bird provides Rocks in case I have a heavy flying-type opponent (or anyone else weak to it) and above all removes the entry dangers for my MVP. I preferred Rocky Helmet paired with the Roost recovery to give some Hard Knocks lessons to any cocky physical attacker. In few situations I would have preferred Roar/Whirlwind to blow stat-uppers away, but I found this set to be more useful for the most part of the time. This two bald birds needed someone to take electric damage and I thought to

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def / 6Spe
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpAtk)

-Swords Dance
-Seed Bomb
-Baton Pass
-Recover

I got a legit Impish Celebi with good IVs from WT so I really wanted him to be part of my team: extra physical defense, swords dance to be passed to my wannabe-sweeper (or to skarmory for amazing surprise-KOs...), a little bit of defenses coverage and Natural Cure to absorb the statuses are the main reasons why I love this little pixie. I feel like this could be one of my main Weak-points, but I found Celebi to be situationally useful, so I haven't replaced it yet. Now I need a lot of damage, and I found an almost perfect symbiosis between this guy and

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/ 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

-Earth Power
-Flash Cannon
-Lava Plume
-Hidden Power Ice

Heatran beautifully covers the weaknesses of celebi, being covered by it as well. Eats fire from celebi's and skarmory's backs (and ice from pidgeot's and landorus') still being able to hit pretty hard thanks to his naturally high offensive stats and not bad looking defensive stats, welp, he pretty much speaks for itself; my offense is completed by

Landorus-Therian @ Muscle Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk; 6 Def; 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpAtk)

-U-Turn
-Earthquake
-Knock-Off
-Stone Edge

I love to lead with him and scout my opponent's wills. If I'm able to clean up annoying walls lategame I can easily sweep with Celebi's SD and thanks to the Muscle Band (+10% physical moves) I can trick and scare people out, pretending I'm scarfed. Intimidate is an ability YOU HAVE TO have in your team (imho) and I'm pretty satisfied with him because he has been my winning-condition for more than one game. My ACTUAL winnining condition #2 other than Pidgeot is....

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP; 252 SpAtk; 252 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk)

-Aura Sphere
-Vacuum Wave
-Flash Cannon
-Nasty Plot

This is basically the "surprise pie" a lot of people get tricked by: I have lost the count of the ferrothorns staying under my Aura Sphere and got oneshot, or the various occasions where a +2 Vacuum Wave could resolve tricky situations. This is the life-saver in case something goes wrong with Pidgeot, the B plan that could be considered like an A2 plan because I find myself really happy everytime I use it. Gives another cover for ice moves (I'm kinda weak to it) and gets covered for his weaknesses by celebi and heatran. Not hit by rocks he can even be my MVP in case I can't defog that sh*t out.

That's it guys, I hope to receive some nice advices from you and know that I'm 100% opened to all kind of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and changes. See ya! Ciao!

Hey LuigiGreenHat, i have a few suggestions on your sets to try to help improve your team.

For one I think you should change your Heatran from Air Balloon to Choice Scarf to give you more speed control while still having a strong offensive pivot. You have three ground immunities and one ground resist so the Balloon isn't all too necessary. This also helps you deal with M-Manectric better, which annoys your team a lot.

Next, i think you should definitely change your Celebi from Swords Dance to Nasty Plot and Seed Bomb to Giga Drain since your fastest members thrive from gaining a boost in Special Attack rather than a boost in Attack. This also allows you to take on Sub + CM Keldeo and water type boosters like Suicune and M-Slowbro much better.

This is a small change but I think you should consider running Hyper Beam or Tailwind > Roost on M-Pidgeot. Hyper Beam allows you to take out stuff like Rotom-W and Zapdos after they take Stealth Rock and Hurricane damage, and Tailwind helps boost your team's speed to potentially allow Landorus-T or Lucario to clean late game.

You should definitely change your Landorus-T from Muscle Band to Earth Plate, and put Stealth Rocks on it rather than on Skarmory. Earth Plate gives a bigger boost to your Earthquakes, and the little boost coming from Muscle Band isn't necessary or really noticeable in most cases. Putting Stealth Rock on this puts less pressure on your Skarmory for hazard control.

You should now make your Skarmory set be Counter / Whirlwind / Defog / Roost so you have better matchup vs. physical attackers like M-Pinsir, Bisharp, and, SD Garchomp.

Lastly, although i did suggest you change Celebi to NastyPass > SDPass, you should make your Lucario physical since your team has issues breaking Chansey, plus ESpeed priority is pretty helpful for you.

In short:

485.png
Scarf Heatran > Balloon Heatran
251.png
NastyPass Celebi > SDPass Celebi
645-therian.png
Earth Plate Landorus-T w/ Stealth Rocks > Muscle Band Landorus-T
227.png
Counter + Whirlwind Skarmory > Stealth Rock + Brave Bird Skarmory
448.png
Swords Dance Lucario > Nasty Plot Lucario
018-mega.png
Hyper Beam / Tailwind M-Pidgeot > Roost M-Pidgeot (a bit subjective, but very helpful)

Alright dude, this team looks solid, but I see it really weak to stuff like Tornadus-T or Thundurus, so we're going to try and fix that in this rate.

First, you should use Magma Storm Heatran>Choice Scarf, as it shuts down stall for you and reliably counters talonflame, which is also a nightmare for you. The leftovers will be more useful than the Scarf, as you need tran to be durable during the game. I'll give you its set below.

Then, use de NP Celebi set celes has given to you, which is much better than the SD Celebi that you're currently running. Also, stick to his SD Lucario and his Skarm: they're pretty good.

But I think we'll have to change that Lando for a Hippowdon, because Torn, Zard X and Thundu are really a problem to this team, and this will let you help those weaknesses with a big Stone Edge.

Finally, you should try HP Ice>U-Turn on that Pidgeot, as it can deal with a lot of dragon types (Fire Blast Garchomp can be troublesome) and ground types such as Gliscor.

Hope the rate helped and here's my post #100, just for your team x)

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power

- Taunt

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers

Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

You left the set for a SpDef Heatran that has Lava Plume and not Magma Storm.

First: Thank you very much for your appreciated comments and tips, both of you!
Is Celebi ok with defense or should I stick with SpDef? If I put Hippo in the team won't I be too "defensive"?
Should I use a more defensive Heatran with that set or can I still go Timid and "Fast Special Attacker Spread?"
I'm pretty comfortable with all of the new set ups, I will be trying this changings during the afternoon, have a nice day, sirs.
