ORAS OU Crabs N' Dragons!

Decided to make a team around crawduant, crawdaunt is a pokemon that I find really fun to use and is a really good answer to stall which is being spammed on the ladder I feel like. Access to priority, one of the strongest knock offs I have seen, and a good dual typing makes it really fun to use. But a mon like crawdaunt needs a lot of support...so here i go:

landorus-therian.gif

Neck Pillow (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Hidden Power [Flying]
So I decided to go with my defensive core first, as that is what I normally do, since balance is my favorite play style. So I chose lando T because It let me take on a lot of physical threats that can threaten crawdaunt, such as heracross. I went with physically defensive, as it also provides me with a good zard check especially with the intimidate. First three moveslots are pretty self explantory, eq, u turn, and SR. But then I went with hidden power flying, I know this can seem like a really bad slot, but in my personal experience it honestly never bothered me and actually helped sometimes, its takes out mega heracross for me as well as rare things like chesnaught. And it is even solid damage on opposing lando t's and such, and I feel like i dont need stone edge as much on this team. So ya, thats my thought on that.

rotom-wash.gif

zzzzzz (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Thunder Wave
- Pain Split
Wanted a pokemon to help me check flying types as well as things like heatran, so i decided on rotom wash. I know sp def rotom isnt really good at the moment, but I thought like I had no reason to make is phy def when I didnt see the use for it, with sp def it at least lets me take maybe one draco at full and pain split, as well as let me volt switch out on things like energy ball manaphy, taking a good chunk of its health. Hydro and volt switch are standard rotom moves. I chose thunder wave over will o wisp because it lets me neutralize zard x and bulk up t flame without any worries. Well, Talonflame isnt neutralized, but t waving it is really nice. it also lets me cripple things like the lati twins on the switch. And finally the last move is pain split for a good recovery option.

sceptile-mega.gif

Merry X-mas Bitch (Sceptile) @ Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 40 Atk / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Rock Slide
So for the next slot, I actually really wanted to use a mega that was really fast, but also something to let me deal with water types like azumarill and manaphy. So I went with mega sceptile. As I have stated before, Mega Sceptile is an underrated threat, Leaf storm is there to make a dent and then switch out, dragon pulse is there for the obvious stab. Focus blast is there for heatran and ferrothorn if I want to use it in the situation. Also for bisharp, and rock slide for things like weakened torn t's as well as talonflames if I feel like predicting. I used to run hp fire over focus blast and earthquake over rock slide, as hp fire let me hit scizor and earthquake let me deal with trans, but I felt like on a team like this, the coverage I have listed is better.

clefable.gif

Ball Is Life (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled
- Calm Mind
Clefable is such a splashable pokemon, and I felt like it fit well onto this team as I wanted a fairy to let me deal with mega sableye and give me a acceptable answer to switching into dragons. Clefable also let me deal with weavile to an extent, and it just sponges hits in general which is why I wanted it. I ran the standard calm mind set as it is all I really needed. If I really need to, I can also stay in on things like scizor to flamethrower which i find nice.

crawdaunt.gif

There ya go (Crawdaunt) @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Crabhammer
The mon I built around, crawdaunt. I love this thing, lets me beat stall as well as give me a reliable priority user, great offensive typing as well. SD is there for stall if i want to hit super hard, aqua jet for priority, obviously. Knock off because you're a fool if you are not abusing this, and I chose crabhammer because there wasnt any other move I wanted really and it gives me a good reliable strong water stab.

jirachi.gif

I'll Try Not To (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch
- U-turn
- Healing Wish
I wanted to round off my team with a fast steel type, So scarf rachi came to mind, which ive chosen. Jirachi is nice as it lets me revenge kill things like scizor and gardevoir. Iron head is there for stab, fire punch for things like scizor in case they set up and become scary, u turn for momentum, and I chose healing wish because this lets me go crazy with crawdaunt early game only for it to go back to full later if the crawdaunt matchup is nice.

So here is the final team, 2 big threats I noticed are bisharp and serp, sorry for the non lengthy descriptions, I honestly didn't know what else to put. Thank you! Criticize as much as you want I want to make this team better.

Hi,

First of all, I suggest you to change HP Flying on Landorus-T for Stone Edge or even Toxic, since Mega Hera is pretty bad in ORAS. Another thing you can do, is put a Hippowdon over Landorus, using this set:

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge / Toxic

Also, Mega Sceptile is bad imo, so you could replace it with Mega Alakazam which is a pretty fast mon as Mega Scept is, or if you want a more solid answer to water types, you can try offensive Mega Venusaur; sets:

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Encore / Calm Mind

----------------------------------------

Venusaur-Mega @ Venusaurite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis

With Hippo you can hard check Bisharp (except SD + Iron Head flinch of course), and if you wanna check Serperior you can try SpDef Skarmory over Scarf Jirachi which will help you against things like mega Diancie or Mega Gardevoir in case you are running Iron Head or against Serp in case you are running Brave Bird. Of course if you are using Mega Venusaur you won't need Skarm to check Serp but it could be good for the team anyways. Set:

Skarmory @ Leftovers / Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron Head / Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog / Spikes
- Whirlwind

Finally, you can try to change Rotom's set to:

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-o-Wisp
- Pain Split

And Clefable is a great mon, but you should use a more optimal set like this one:

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 21 Spe
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Calm Mind
- Soft-Boiled

That's all, good luck with the team!

For one, Mega Heracross is not bad in ORAS (where'd you get that from..?). Sceptile-Mega isn't bad either. Sceptile can check lots of electric types such as Manectric-Mega, Thundurus, Raikou and Rotom-Wash. While it doesn't seem good at first glance, its ability to handle offensive teams well allows it to do well in the metagame. Also, since when can a Scarf Jirachi not do well against Gardevoir and Diancie...? 44 Speed EVs are not needed anymore, as Jolly Azumarill is seen almost never now.

-------------------------

Ok, onto the rate (pressed on time, will finish rate later):

At a first glance, your team is very weak to Charizard-Mega-X (as most teams are). A way to handle this issue is to run Quagsire or a solid revenge killer. I would suggest Scarf Latios, but it doesn't really fit on your team.

landorus-therian.gif
Yes, I would change this to Hippowdon to better handle Zard X, Talonflame, and others. It also provides rocks, and a phasing move. And since I would just copy paste the set from there like everyone does, here is the set.

rotom-wash.gif
I would change your Rotom EV Spread to 252 HP / 252 Def /4 SpD Bold Nature. A Bold Nature allows Rotom-W to take physical attacks from Pokemon such as Azumarill and Mega Pinsir better.

sceptile-mega.gif
There isn't really a reason to run all of those attack EVs. It may affect how hard you hit on the special side. I would just run 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature here for maximum special attacking potential. I haven't really done the calcs because I'm pressed on time, but 4 Atk should be able to KO Zard Y and Talonflame.

clefable.gif
For your Clefable, I would run these EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD Calm Nature. The given Special Defense and HP investment along with a Calm nature allow Clefable to, most of the time, avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-B's Ice Beam, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. The given Defense and HP investment allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios's Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados's Waterfall, as well as the OHKO from Choice Band Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Since my rate wasn't too detailed as they usually are, I'll come back later on in the day to finish up whatever I missed.
