Introduction:
Thought Process:
The first member to add was obviously Scizor and I went with Rotom-W to complete the core.

I always had a love for Celebi and she fits with the theme of the team so I went with Baton Pass/Substitute. I put in Heatran to match the core with Celebi.

Standard Volt-Turn weakness is its inability to punch holes and my team lacked huge power, so I looked up the OU database and found out that Mega-Metagross was a threat.

I also lacked a good Scarf sweeper so I went for Hydreigon who also acts as a revenge killer.

Details:

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
-
Standard CB Scizor. Hits like a truck and has decent coverage. I went for Knock Off for annoying walls. Decided on Pursuit for threats. Works as part of the Volt-Turn core and a late game sweeper with Bullet Punch when everything is worn down.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Standard Rotom-W. It appears physicall killers are part of the new meta and Will-O-Wisp helps to stop them when it doesn't miss. I went for Leftovers/Pain Split over Chesto/Rest for longevity although I don't know how useful it's been. If I encounter a lot more defensive teams I'll go for Pain Split although Chesto/Rest is better against balanced/offensive teams.

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog
Good advice from shui3. After a few games, hazards were wearing down my team too fast, especially with Spikes. I actually remember being one of the few people who advocated this moveset back when it first became known so it's pretty cool to see it's become somewhat mainstream.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
-
With BreloomMyHomie’s advice, I’ve decided to run Hippowdon over Heatran. Heatran wasn’t pulling his weight in the team and Hippowdon should fare better. Not to mention my team somehow turned out to be okay with Sand and I’ve played with the weather before for basically the entirety of BW 2.

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Hammer Arm
- Ice Punch
My heavy hitter. Decent coverage moves. Works to punch holes. Basically gets a free kill when I have a Substitute up from Celebi. I also needed a good Psychic hitter which Metagross fulfills.

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Earth Power
- U-turn
Fun to use. Not a lot of people expect him which is even better. Good synergy since he runs U-turn so I can use that if I'm unsure as to what my opponent will do. I've found decent situations where I can switch him in and he finds more use than Heatran (lol). He can function as a late late game sweeper although I often find Scizor better for that role and Hydreigon can often kill one mon before going out.
Looking to Change:
I want to switch out Heatran. He really hasn't given as much use as I thought. During the times that he has come in, I'm often put into a worse position as the opponent gets a free switch-in and I have to Toxic and Protect or Lava Plume and hope for a lucky burn.
I've been thinking about switching him for a frail but powerful sweeper like Lucario who'll benefit more from Substitute. On the other hand, I'm wondering if the defensive core of my team will be hurt because of it. Also wondering how relevant Lucario is in this meta.
Better wall breakers than Meta-Metagross would also be neat if there are any.
Thanks for reading!
