ORAS OU I Miss you. ( HJK problems) ( peaked 1617)

I and my friend we builded this team.

This is the team:

We started building on the core mega medicham - manaphy.
Mega medicham can already do a lot of damage without the need of boost, but Manaphy can boost himself and deal a lot of damage.
After we searched for a stealth rock user.
Garchomp was our first pick because he is bit fast, has a good attack status and can be very dangerous.
Mega Medicham works better in a volt-turn core, so we looked for a pokemon fast and with a good coverage and the answer was Tornadus-Therian.
Then the defogger, first we tought about Skarmory, but since his very low attack status we tought for Scizor.
Then to close the volt-turn core and to have a better coverage we opted for Raikou.

A closer look to team:

Medicham-Mega @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Ice Punch
- High Jump Kick
- Psycho Cut/Zen headbutt

Basically mega Medicham.
Standard set not much to talk about. He can do awesome damage and there are not really safe entry.
We change Psycho cut and Zen headbutt because we tend to miss Zen headbutt ( lol ) and we tought in some case it's fine to have a move that doesn't have physical contact, just to avoid the various rocky helmet chomp and ferrothorn.

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Rain Dance
- Scald
- Energy Ball

Manaphy is really awesome.
The evs is for the standard Manaphy bulky.
We opted for the 2 attacks and rain dance for the following reason.
Thanks to Hydration we fear to have no negative status on manaphy, so we have no problem to switch in and make rain dance.
Rain dance helps both Tornadus and Scizor.
Energy ball to clean all the various rotom - wash and keldeo which can be very dangerous.
scald is the basic manaphy stab move.

51889-c009bed26de319ca2ee4210b22c19bbd.jpg

Garchomp @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Stealth Rock

Garchomp is great pokemon to put the rocks with.
Thanks to his speed and his bulk he can cover both two role easy: the stealth rock and the attacker.
We decided to use the focus sash because nobody expect the sash and can be good to destroy some threat like the latwins or zardx at +1.
Sword dance is to scary any protect user or anyone that think to set up in front of Garhomp.

51891-b0f36fb766fe832dae2b24aacca76691.jpg

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Air Slash/hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Tornadus is great for the volt turn core.
thanks to his stab he can be dangerous.
Heat wave instead of Superpower to avoid the drop and kill some ferrothorn.

51892-18c232bdce8129138b23260d0736c04e.jpg

Scizor @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Defog
- Swords Dance/Roost
- U-turn

He is our defogger.
In low ladder we found more usefull Sword dance, but in high ladder we replaced Sword Dance with Roost.
Great to cover the weakness of Mega medicham to fairy.
U-turn to help with coverage.

51893-fcee756602502188b0a80548f31c82ab.jpg

Raikou @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball

Raikou with assault vest was our choice to get some free switch.
We picked this instead of calm mind one because we needed to have volt switch.
We tought just to make a change, to use Thundurus instead of Raikou to have thunder wave and lower the speed of various pokemon that could be a threat to Mega medicham.
But in our first version we used Raikou and we didn't like much Thunrusu because the thunder wave is easy predictable.

Replays: ( some are with thundurs instead of raikou and they are on the showdown of my friend)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-284005620
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-284010094

Threat list.

Mega Lopunny.
Thanks to his various set we risk to not have a easy switch in.
Some times we found mega lopunny with fire punch, other with ice punch.

Mega Manectric.
Checks the whole team.
The only way is to kill him with EQ and keep the sash.

Mega Sableye.
If manaphy is dead, there is no real way we can kill this pokemon.

Mega Charizard X ( DDance )
If garchomp is dead, and he has DDance , we can do really nothing.

Mega Charizard Y
No real counter, just check.

Excadrill with sand rush under the sand.
Just like everyone this can be deadly.

Importable

Hello, nice team here but it have many flaws

  • Weak to Zard-X
  • Weak to Sand Offense
I'd suggest to use Landorus-T over your Garchomp,he will help you to deal with Sand offense/Hoopa-U/Zard-X.
Remove Scizor its pretty useless to use him right now (even more with defog since tornadus-t have regenerator which means he don't care about stealth rocks).I suggest to use Keldeo over him since he can be used as good revenge killer and will help you to check dark spam(Bisharp/Weavile mainly)
Tornadus-T is really good but i think in this team its better to use the Assaut Vest to check Lati@s/Gengar which are main revenge killer to Medicham.
I don't like the set of Manaphy in this team.just use Tail glow + 3 attacks :

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge/Toxic/Knock Off

Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]/Hidden Power Bug/Icy Wind

Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 172 HP / 4 Def / 80 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- Heat Wave / Superpower / Hidden Power Ice / Icy Wind
- U-turn

Outspeeding Timid Zam and tie with other tornadus-t,80 SpA allow you to OHKO Keldeo after rocks.172 hp is a stealth rock number

Mixed wall Hippowdon over Garchomp can helps against majority threats.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

Maybe Pursuit in Scizor can help against Lati@s and Gengar, helping Medicham in Sweep.

Hey cool idea, but it needs a few changes to be more effective !
First of all there is a weakness to Talonflame. You have no switchin and everything gets 2hkod. If the Sharp Beak variant for example gets a +2 on your Scizor, you almost automatically lose. Flare Blitz hurts Raikou a lot and it can't switch in, because Brave Bird on the switch + Flare Blitz kills after Stealth Rock damage.
Also opponents have many opportunities to defog since your team is slow, so Starmie and Lati@s can defog easily to prepare for the Talonflame sweep.
Talonflame vs Raikou
252 Atk Talonflame Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raikou: 181-214 (56.3 - 66.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Sharp Beak Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raikou: 108-128 (33.6 - 39.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
First change I recommend is:
445.png

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet|Rough Skin
Impish 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Stealth Rock / Earthquake / Dragon Tail / Fire Blast

This is your answer to Talonflame. You switch it in and your opponent has to take a lot of recoil. Fire Blast weakend Scizor, Ferrothorn and other Steel Types. Your team is also weak to Bisharp, Garchomp handles that pretty well too. Mega Metagross and Lopunny also hate to attack it since they have to take 28% recoil each time they attack. The speed investment outspeeds Jolly Bisharp and also Jolly Breloom.

I hate to see how your team just loses to offensive weather teams. Life Orb Excadrill 2hkos your Garchomp and Ohkos every member after a little bit of prior damage. Rain teams have too much offensive power on the special side and your team gets easily beaten by standard rain sweepers like Kindra and Swampert.

243.png

Bisharp @ Life Orb | Defiant
Adamant 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Sucker Punch / Knock Off / Iron Head / Pursuit

The neccessary Pokemon here is Bisharp which has great synergy with Medicham and Manaphy, also has Sucker Punch as priority and picks off Excadrill at ~75%. Stealth Rock damage + Spikes (see Klefki) + (max 2 times) Fake Out + Sucker Punch should be enough to handle every weather sweeper. It is one of the best moves to sweep late game against offensive teams. Pursuit over Swords Dance because your team struggles with Lati@s, because of its speed it can kill your wallbreakers, so removing it with Pursuit puts you in a favourable position.
Excadrill vs Garchomp
252+ Atk Life Orb Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Garchomp: 195-230 (46.4 - 54.7%) -- 59% chance to 2HKO
Bisharp vs Excadrill
252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Excadrill: 273-321 (75.6 - 88.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Bisharp vs Swampert
252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Swampert: 168-199 (49.2 - 58.3%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO
Bisharp vs Kingdra
252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Kingdra: 188-224 (60.4 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Bisharp vs Omastar
252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Omastar: 149-177 (53 - 62.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
The last change I suggest is
707.png
>
212.png

Klefki @ Leftovers | Prankster
Calm 252 HP / 40 SpA / 212 SpD
Spikes / Magnet Rise / Dazzling Gleam / Thunder Wave

Set up Spikes and Stealth Rocks to bring Pokemon in range of Bisharp's Sucker Punch against offensive teams. With Fake Out from Medicham + Hazard damage that should go pretty fast. Dazzling Gleam forces Sableye out, because it has to use Recover all the time and you might stall out all their Recovers. You don't have to rely solely on Manaphy to break it. Thunder Wave slows down many fast Pokemon, so they can be picked off by Medichams or Bisharps strong stab attacks. Klefki is also a seconday Lati switchin aswell as a fairy switchin, which fear the T-Wave like Gardevoir and Altaria has to fear the Dazzling Gleam.
40 SpA Klefki Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Sableye: 134-162 (44 - 53.2%) -- 25% chance to 2HKO
Don't be afraid to use Hurricane>Air Slash, the Rain Dance on Manaphy gives your Hurricanes 100% accuracy.

shui3 thanks for the hints!
i tought too about klefki instead of scizor, but i tought to replay ce instead raikou for thundurus.
this night i will adjust the team and test!
just a thing, wouldn't be better to have a spinner/defogger?

You don't always need a entry hazard remover, even more if you don't really have stealth rocks weakness(Tornadus-T have regenerator).

Electric types are really really really good in the team because they can check Talonflame which is another problem for Medicham(Other mon are burned in the switch and they can't really hit him for effective damage),they can also be used as decent check/revenge killer to Manaphy.

Raikou have great synergy with Tornadus-T,for all this reasons i don't think changing Raikou would be a great idea.
