RU Leader

Hi guys it's Arifeen and I'm here with a team that is solid in the ladder as well as helped some people win their RU Open games. So yeah here's the teambuilding process:

lol wtf is a teambuilding process I just put 6 random mons together xdddddd
323-mega.png
640.png

Wanted to build around these two mons because they have a nice synergy since they can take care of each other's most checks and counters
683.png

Needed a check to Fighting mons such as Medicham Hitmonlee and cleric because Toxic and Scald burns.
648.png

Didn't wanna straight up lose to Amoonguss and Mega Steelix after Camerupt dies, Alomomola after Virizion dies and gives me another strong wincon against many defensive builds.
330.png

Needed a bulky defogger that can pivot around and provide momentum for the team. Also needed a somewhat Mega Steelix switchin.
082.png

Didn't wanna lose to Durant, and needed a switchin against Mega Glalie. Forms a nice Volt-Turn with Flygon as well.

Team at a glance:

Camerupt (Camerupt-Mega) @ Cameruptite
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 88 HP / 252 SpA / 168 Spe
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

One of the biggest hard hitters in the tier, Mega Camerupt loasts any Pokemon that doesn't resist it's Fire Blast. Earth Power is for hitting Water-types on the switch-in and Rock-types. Hidden Power Ice is used to bop Flygons that try to switch into it. 168 Speed EVs are used to outspeed 4 Speed Rhyperior and KOing it with Earth Power. Substitute is there to abuse in front of Togetic and avoid the toxic, while getting a leverage if the opponent has two potential switch-ins to Camerupt

Virizion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Stone Edge / Zen Headbutt

Virizion is really good in RU right now since it deals with bulky Water-types, Mega Steelix, Registeel, and Rhyperior. Swords Dance makes its Attack boost to dangerous levels, where Close Combat and Leaf Blade with 2HKO many mons in the tier. Stone Edge lets Virizion hit Togetic and Golbat while Zen Headbutt can be used to hit Amoonguss.

Aromatisse @ Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy

Aromatisse helps me check Fighting-type mons such as Hitmonlee, Scrafty, and Medicham. It also helps facing Dragon Dance / Rock Polish Tyrantrum. Moonblast is mandatory STAB, which punishes Fighting- and Dragon-type Pokemon, Wish and Protect aids the team while Aromatherapy helps the team recover from status ailments.

Meloetta @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Focus Blast

Meloetta helps me pressure a lot of Pokemon such as Amoonguss, Registeel, Mega Steelix, Aromatisse, Togetic, Alomomola, Jellicent, and Qwilfish. Calm Mind makes it more dangerous to bulkier builds, while Hyper Voice and Psychic are great STABs to spam freely. Focus Blast is for Steel-types that try to switch into Meloetta. Dazzling Gleam over Hyper Voice can be used to hit Spiritomb (which completely walls this mon otherwise lol). Colbur Berry is used to live a hit from Drapion, Houndoom, and Dugtrio, and hit hard in return.

Flygon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 144 Def / 116 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog

Flygon is my Defogger with impressive bulk, stops Volt spam, and it allows me to gain momentum with U-Turn, as well as having a Delphox and Mega Steelix switch-in. Earthquake is my only way to deal decent damage to mons, while U-Turn is for momentum. Roost is to make sure Flygon is healthy. The EVs increase Flygon's physical bulk, while still letting me outspeed Max Speed non beneficial nature base 95 Speed stat Pokemon

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Magneton gives me a somewhat Mega Glalie switchin, as well as traps Durant and KOs it. Volt Switch is used to gain momentum, while Thunderbolt hits harder. Flash Cannon is for Aromatisse and Flygon, while Hidden Power Fire is used to KO Durants and Escavaliers.

======================================================

fran17 gave me a better idea to use Bronzong over Magneton, and I think it's a solid idea, and therefore, here it is:

tumblr_lx60l4d3Nf1qd87hlo1_500.gif

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 2 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This gives me a great answer to Mega Glalie and Tyrantrum, while HP Fire can KO Durant and Escavalier as well. Gyro Ball hits hard with that pathetic Speed stat, while Toxic wears down walls such as Tangrowth, Alomomola, and Uxie.

Meloetta: Specs Melo is dangerous as fuck and I have 0 switchins for that.
Durant: Mindgames with Magneton switchins and if it's down it's dangerous.
Mega Glalie: Really problematic once Magneton's down.
Liechi Berry Hitmonlee: With Poison Jab it destroys my team. Good thing it's rare.

Virizion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Stone Edge

Aromatisse @ Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy

Camerupt (Camerupt-Mega) @ Cameruptite
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 88 HP / 252 SpA / 168 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Meloetta @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Focus Blast

Flygon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

or

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 2 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Team looks pretty solid my only comments would be on the flygon spread but you seem to be accustomed to it and have something in mind for it, another comment I have is that scarf rantrum could be a slight issue for your team so you'll have to be wary of it but I suppose you could play around otherwise great team.

If it goes for smash I'll go to flygon. Otherwise Aroma.

Hey there nice team! It looks to be able to play againist every playstyle thanks to his nice sinergy.

Bronzong over Magneton will give you still a Durant check, while also being able to check really well Glalie and Tyrantrum, and decently Meloetta. Obviously you will have to run HP Fire on bronzong to check Durant, but I think is something you have to afford if you want to make the team less weaker to these threats. With Bronzong setting up rocks you will have a free slot on Camerupt, which can be filled by Toxic or Substitute. Toxic will allow you to wear down water mons that can check him, while substitute gives Came something to avoid toxic or spore by slower mons, and can setup one on a free turn if you have the opportunity.

On Flygon I suggest you to run an evs spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Spe while still using the jolly nature to outspeed 252 Drapion, since Jolly drapion isn't that common, and the additional bulk can help you many times :)

On Meloetta I suggest you to try something between Shadow Ball or Dazzling over Hyper voice; both these moves help melo to get more coverage and to hit decently hard Spiritomb. Shadow Ball will let melo hit psychic types, although Dazzling Gleam helps more againist Tomb, doing a nice 2HKO on the switchin which can start mindgames between Pursuit and Sucker Punch @_@

This is all, solid team mate :toast:

Actually a rly solid idea. Thanks bud. Will try it out n_n

Really solid team, nothing much to say, just a few potential issues.

Going from fran17 rate, which I agree with most of the points he stated, adding bronzong gives a team an extra vulnerability against opposing dark types and while you have aromatisse isnt exactly difficult to pressure with hazards plus getting rid of her lefties recovery.

With that in mind, Colbur Berry over Life Orb on meloetta could give you an extra safebet against opposing dark types, luring them out and beating those with the respective move of choice. Keep hyper voice, you get walled by spiritomb but you have 1... 2... 3 teammates that could beat it with ease, imo.

Drapion runs jolly cause with meloetta being a major threat I dont see these missing the opportunity of nailing non colbur variants with knock off, in the need flygon isnt really dependant of leftovers thanks to typing and ability and beats non-shuca berry drapion variants really well (watch out for those)

Dont see a reason to slash zen headbutt when things like sigilyph are really threatening even with meloetta but thats just me.

Minor nitpicks overall, team is pretty cool and really well made, excellent work n_n

Yeah Colbur is a nice idea I have considered before, just didn't think into it much because my Flygon outsped Drapion and Houndoom. Now that I've taken a bulkier spread into account. I'm considering Colbur Berry as well. Thanks MrAldo

And I don't run Zen Headbutt, it's just a nice thing to hit Amoonguss with, but yeah, Stone Edge is much more better.
